"How long have you been waiting here for?" Twinkle panted as she ran up to Kunj.
"About two hours." Kunj answered calmly.
"Two hours!" Twinkle exclaimed, her eyes popping out of her sockets. "In this pouring rain!" To add emphasis to her words, a loud thunder rumbled across the sky.
Kunj shrugged with a smile, his hands deep in his pockets, his eyes gazing intently at her.
"Why didn't you leave? Or at the very least find a dry place to wait?" Twinkle blinked rapidly as water dropped heavily from her eyelashes.
"You said you would meet me here." Kunj answered in a nonchalant manner which was beginning to slightly infuriate Twinkle.
"I forgot Kunj!" Twinkle clipped. "What if I hadn't come at all? Would you have stayed here for the rest of your life?" Her face crumpled as the heavy guilt began to build up on her.
"Yes."
Twinkle remained silent for a few minutes, choosing to look at the wet cement rather than at the man before her.
"You're crazy." She said softly, a frown dawning her face.
"Twinkle, there isn't anything that I wouldn't do for you." Kunj stated seriously. "Ask me to walk across burning coals and I'll do that." He took a step towards her. "Ask me to starve myself, stand out in the rain all day, whatever. You name it and I will do it for you."
With clenched teeth, Twinkle answered, "Then I want you to stop." She swallowed. "I want you to stop doing everything that I say and grow some self-respect Kunj Sarna. I can't allow myself to appreciate, let alone love you when all you're doing is hurting yourself. I cannot accept a love that will go to the extent of inflicting pain upon themselves or others just to please me." She paused for a few moments to let her words sink in. "Now, until you don't learn how to respect yourself, I don't ever want to see you again."
With those final words, she walked away, leaving him in the pouring rain.
