Remember the old days when they run 'stories' that spanned across weeks with tones of laughter lines for every minute, like Tappu's child marriage, Babita's swimming lesson,Popatlal's marriage with Kerry and so on. But since past few weeks there is no episode going on 'story-mode', simply dragging it with 'Magic show' etc.
Let me give some unwanted advice to the producers of this serial (if any of you members know any person associated with this serial, please forward him/her following)
1. Donot show recaps: we are regular viewers of this serial, hence recap = 3 minutes wasted in the beginning.
2. Donot show us Tarka Mehta's 'commentary' for 2 minutes at the end of each episode, it serves no purpose, completely boring and
3. Tarak Mehta should first get his moustaches combed and cut properly or just shave'em off completely. Compare his today's moustaches with his moustaches a year ago.
4. Anjali Mehta should be divorced or send to her 'maaykaa' or just don't show her, she is the biggest time-waster unfunny character in this serial since the beginning. She exists only for one reason "When they don't have any story, show Anjali-Taarak Diet drama" which is repeated for so many times, not funny anymore.Infact money saved by casting her out = can be used to give extra Commission to scriptwriter to write more quality episodes. Even Sundarlal's friend 'Bakaa' (that dark skinned person who used to chew paan all the time), in fact he was funnier than Anjali Mehta.
5. Haati/Goli's Fatman-comedy is overdone just like Anjali's diet drama, please reduce the time allotted to them or just cast them off. But instead you invited two fat uncles of him to waste more of our time!
6. Tappu sena's 'shararat' (mischief)-drama is overdone. They first play some prank on Bhide, then entire society scolds Bhide for 15 minutes, only then Mr.Bhide is allowed to explain = overdone and timewaster.
7. Tappu himself is over-glorified, over-pampered and given too much time. All his mischiefs are forgiven on the moment he says 'sorry' on Champak's order, this is not setting a good example for the kids who watch it. Sometimes he should be given strict punishment! Allot more time to Jethalal.
8. We've seen too much of Jetha suffering due to Chapmak and Sundar, let Jetha have fun atleast for some episodes where he can 'settle' the score with them both and teach them a lesson (even in a dream).
9. The last thing we want is two episodes wasted only to promote 'Krishnaben Khakhrawala' that was the height of boringness! All the 'festival-celebration', parties, dance competition, magic shows, and celebrities coming to endorse their movies or serials = put a stop on this or at least reduce it. Its boring and time waster.
10. Iyyer and Bhide sometimes too much verbally humiliated by Jetha without being given a proper chance to payback. This is not right. Same for Popat humiliating other society members without given proper payback later on.
11. Jetha's too much flirting with Babita and Iyyer's mental resentment over watching it: this is getting overdone and sending wrong message about Jetha's character. He used to be a good guy with little soft-corner and platonic love for Babita, but now its shown like Jethalal is a wolf out on mission only to flirt with Babita and humiliate Iyyer. This is not how I want to see my favorite character Jethalal, this is sending wrong message to the society and glorifying the vile act of eyeing on other man's wife. Now you can justify it by saying 'this is just a serial!', well then by that logic they shouldn't preach environment protection*/respect elders/anti-liquor and all other social messages that they preach in this serial.
12. Tarak Mehta scriptwriters should maintain a standard and shouldn't fall to the level of unfunny timepass serials like in Papad pol and Maniben Dot com or Mr.&Mrs. Sharma Ilahabadwale or Jugni Chali Jalandhar . I guess either the original scriptwriter has left this production or that the producers are not paying him good and that's why poor quality of episodes. Adding insult to the injury now they're also showing this serial on Friday with one more boring episode.
13. I'm sad to see such excellent and talented actors like Jetha, Daya, Bhide & Sodhi have to drag the episodes by trying to act funny and verbally insulting eachother to make viewers laugh, because of the boring storylines. I hate to see my favorite characters getting ruined like this.
I'll take the opportunity to copy paste another member 'Smooth21''s view on this, whom I completely agree with,
1. Actors are not to blame for the predictability. It is the script and dialogues which are predictable.It is sad to say that somewhere along the way the creatives have lost sight of the essence of the show.
2. The show is slowly being made into a B-grade comedy. For eg. every time Iyer is shown, there 'aiyaiyo' is played in the background sound effects as if just showing Iyer's face is supposed to be a punchline.
3. Similarly when Sodhi is shown it is 'balle balle' in the sound effects
4. Also Daya's voice is getting more annoying day by day.
5. Looks like some new idiot has come and started implementing these stupid sound effects. The older episodes are shown on Friday and they don't have these sound effects which means that it is a recent implementation.
6. The channel should really look into getting the essence of the show back and that can only be done by a good script and dialogues otherwise this show will slowly become another mediocre comedy.
Since I've no other outlet to vent my frustration with the deteriorating standard of my favorite serial, I've done it here and I might have used too harsh words. If this hurts with anyone's sentiments, I apologize. I used to be a big fan of this serial, I wrote most of the content on Wikipedia page of this serial but don't do it any more.
