Edited Part 1

Why did God make relationships perhaps He did to fill the void in our lives. To reassure us that we are not alone. We so many different definitions of relationships in books, movies and dramas that these portrayals tend to stick in our heads. We think every relationship is supposed to be perfect. The concept of a happy family is often projected on screen but in real life rarely are relationships perfect. Real relationships are messy and emotional. They are not perfect they are unpredictable. Sometimes the people closet to you hurt you in unimaginable ways. In her life Swara had always yearned for a perfect family. She had grown up without a father under her mother and grandmother's care. She had often looked at other people's family at school and felt like something was missing in her life. So when she found out that she had a half sister she was elated. She finally had a sibling someone who was her on family. So she gave her all to the relationship she was willing to sacrifice anything for Ragini. When she found out she also had a father without judging him for not being in her life she wholeheartedly worked with her sister to unite her parents. She never accused them for ignoring her for most of their lives. Then she got engaged to a Marwari guy called Laksh. She wasn't sure if she was in love with him but he also offered her the chance to be part of a family something she always wanted. Never in her wildest dreams she could imagine that her own sister would betray her on her wedding day and attempt to kill her for Laksh. She had never believed in the concept of everything is fair in love and war as her idea of love was not destructive. When her sister pushed her into the river the only pain she felt was caused by her sister's betrayal. Everyone believed that she had ran away from her wedding her own father refused to believe her and broke his relationship with her mother. She had worked so hard to build her family only to see it shattering in front of her eyes. During this time, she felt solace in only one person Sanskar. Sanskar had been presumed dead for five years but he came back to take revenge from his family. Swara told him that getting revenge would not give him peace. He accepted his mistakes in front of his family but they kicked him out. He was aware of Ragini's nefarious plan and rushed to save Swara. Swara could not bear to see her family broken up she vowed to reunite her parents and Sanskar promised her that he would help her. When no one trusted them they trusted each other thus their bond strengthened. They faced numerous difficulties but were successful in the end in resolving all the problems. Than Sanskar realized that in their quest to save relationships he had lost his heart to Swara. He confessed his love for her but she did not reciprocate as she was afraid of loving someone. However later she realized her love for him. Now life again had thrown them a curveball where their own family has abandoned them. Twice she had worked hard to preserve her family and now for the third time she had to take the initiative but the truth was she was tired. Tired of proving her and her husband's innocence so she resorted to desperate measures to fix her broken family. She knew that pointing a gun at her head was foolish but at that time she didn't think she just reacted. Every strong person has a breaking point and she felt that she had surpassed that. In addition to this her own husband had threatened her. He had asked her to broke all contacts with his family as Laksh his cousin brother had insulted his mother. Sanskar was a rational man who rarely let his emotions dictate but Laksh had crossed a line. He also knew his wife really well she would do anything to restore everything back to normal so he just said that he would kill himself if she tried to do anything. He was hoping that for once she would choose him.

It was a mistake," you said. But the cruel thing was, it felt like the mistake was mine, for trusting you.

David Levithan, The Lover's Dictionary

It was the eve of yet another day at the Maheswari house. Relationships had finally been restored to their original position. Everyone was rejoicing except for one person who was silently packing his bags. It was time he left this god forsaken place forever. This place had given him happiness but at the same time it had given him unimaginable amount of pain. He wanted to leave quickly without creating a scene. He hoped she would be too busy to notice. He didn't have the strength to face her not after she had broken her promise.

He was zipping his suitcase up when she walked into their room.

"Sanskar where did you disappear off too" Swara said without noticing that bag near the sofa and his empty wardrobe.

She waited for his response but then she looked around the room. Sanskar could pinpoint exactly when she noticed the bag and knew he was leaving. Her smile dropped.

"So now you finally remembered me. Why don't you just leave me alone and go spend some time with your so called family" He said

"How many times do I have to tell you that they are your family too" She said

"There are not my family Swara. Families are supposed to nurture and cherish you. Not to label you as 'Ghada khoon' or to insult your mother" He roared in anger

"Sanskar please try to understand. Nobody meant what they said. They are willing to apologize for it" She told him

"Apologize so that the next time something happens they can again insult me. They can again throw me out as one removes a fly from a bowl of milk. No thank you I have had enough." He said

"So that's why you are leaving?"

"No I am disappointed with everyone especially with you. I stopped you from doing this didn't I. You just don't care about me anymore maybe because I am not Shomi, Baba or Maa. Tell me Swara where do I fit into your life?" He asked

"Sanskar I was torn between my duty as a wife and a daughter in law"

"In the end you didn't choose me. I have always stood by you but the one time I asked for your support you ignored me" He said

"Listen to me please" She said but he interrupted her in the middle.

"Why should I listen to you when you didn't listen to me. You wanted to mend all broken relationships. Congratulations Swara you completed your mission par iss ki tumay bohot badhi qeemat chukani padi gi. Yaad hain main nay kia kaha tha"

"Sanskar are you insane I won't let you kill yourself"

"Don't worry I won't kill myself but I can't stay here anymore. I am leaving forever. I am freeing us from this unwanted relationship. You won't get to see me again forever so in a way I would be dead for you" He said while picking up the bag in his hand.

"Sanskar please stay. I love you" She had tears in her eyes now. She outstretched her hand to stop him but he jerked it away.

"That's not enough anymore plus you showed that you don't love me anymore" He said

She mustered the courage to ask him one last question.

"Meray beghair rahay lo gay?"

"Tumharay yaadon kay saath rahay sakta hu par abb tumhra saath nahi rahay sakta" He looked at her for one last time and left. He didn't look back if he would have Sanskar would have seen a girl who entire life had fallen apart. After some time, she realized that it wasn't dome cruel joke he had actually left. She furiously wiped away her tears.

"Humray pyaar say kab tak or kaha tak bhago gay. I will bring you back after all I defied death once to come back to you." She vowed.

Part 2

Sanskar breathed a sigh of relief as soon as he was out of the Maheswari house. He had ordered a taxi to take him to the airport. He planned to go to Simla. There was a property there that was still under his name. In another life he would have gone there with Swara but they rarely got time for themselves. Ever since they had been married they had been involved in one thing after another. He hated himself right now. She was right he couldn't live without her. When she had been presumed dead he had lived in excruciating agony and now he had voluntarily left her. However sometimes some things needed to be done no matter how hard or difficult they are.

Swara was sitting on her room's floor clutching their picture.

"I am sorry Sanskar" She said the 100th time in between sobs

Why was this happening to her. Her entire life she had tried to do justice to all relationships. She had only faltered once and now her most important relationship had been broken. Her mother had asked her to mend all relationships but she forgot to protect her own. He was testing her love. Why does one moment erase all your efforts and feelings. She had tried to give her all to their relationship but for once due to their family she couldn't. So all her efforts were in vain. Life is really harsh because here things are formed and broken suddenly. People always used to say that she was a fool for forgiving everyone. She lived by these words:

"They say fool me once, shame on you;fool me twice, shame on me. I say: fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on you. Shame does not lie on the person who forgives or believes in the goodness of others. Shame does not lie on the person who's been hurt and has the courage not to judge people based on their past. Shame lies on the person who takes advantage of the good heart. Shame lies on the person who deliberately betrays the trust of another person. For our world to change, we need people to have courage to believe in the goodness of humanity so that goodness may prevail"

She had forgiven Sanskar easily because no matter whatever he had done she knew that he was a good person with a pure heart. Had she not given him a chance they might never have fallen in love. She loved giving second chances to everyone. She forgave her sister for attempting to kill her and she never taunted Ragini for that. She was engrossed in these thoughts when Shomi entered her room.

"Swara what's taking you so much time?" Shomi asked

Swara didn't reply. Shomi looked around the room she saw Sanskar's empty cabinet and then her daughter's tear stricken face. She understood that he had left.

"He has left hasn't he?" She asked

"He has tell me Maa why do people always leave me. Baba refused to accept me for the longest. Am I that bad?" Swara asked

"No Swara you are an amazing human being but sometimes you are foolish. You were so fixated with fixing everything that you ignored him. You disregarded how hurt he was after his fight with Laksh. I am sorry it was selfish of me to ask you to lie to him. You shouldn't lie to the people closest to you Swara ever" Shomi said

"No Maa it's not your fault it's my fault I didn't love him enough"

"You are again being foolish go stop him before it's too late" Shomi said

Swara furiously wiped away her tears.

"You are right Maa. I know where he has gone. I will bring him back" Without giving a second look to her mother she grabbed her car keys and dashed out of the room. She knew he must have left for the airport she had seen his ticket amongst his clothes.

"Sanskar I am coming to you" She said and started the car.

Meanwhile he had reached the airport but he felt different today. There was something in the air indicating that something big was going to happen. He had only felt this way before when Kavita had been murdered on their wedding day. The weather forecast indicated that it was about to rain. A storm was coming and both of them would be caught right in the middle of it.

Its really impressive, swara needs a perfect lesson to learn that never take granted for Sanskar.
Men have their self respect, their priorties, their principles which they can hardly change due to unwanted circumstances, thats sometimes they are called ruthless arrogant strong becoz they don't change their decision but it don't mean that they don't have heart.
No doubht family is important but you can't let them insult again and again. There is always a limit dear.
Swara need really hard time to learn this becoz in name of family she always neglect sanskar

Hi Sara dear.

I am battling too many unres that I decided to stick with short comments in the meanwhile.. Sorry about that.. And part two was an amazing update.. I am super glad you have changed it into an SS..

I understand Swara need for perfect family that her one dream.. We don't say people to stop dreaming do we but her dream is an impossible one.. It a broken glass no matter how many times she fixes it, it won't be restored.. That why I get annoyed with her.. Because she needs to wake up from this dream.. And I really don't want her to lose her real happiness that is sanskar because of that..

So Sanskaar left.. I say he needs time to heal as well.. And Swara is broken.. But admit I was bit irritated when shomi walked in.. I hate her.. But she did apologize for being selfish.. So fine.. In the show she won't even bother about her daughter..

You ended with on an cliffhanger.. Now I am curious.. Do update soon dear.. Can't wait to read the next part..

Love

Dear Sara,
The revised part 1 and update part 2 were amazing. I agree that part 1 was more of recapitulating the entire story but from Swara's perspective, and it did bring out her emotional turmoil so well. She means well, loves a lot but does not understand that everything has a limit and that sometimes one has to give up on others.
What she needs to understand is that knowing when to stop is not giving up on them, and if you do give up it is not because you do not care, it is because they don't.

Sanskaar had to push her to a corner, walk out on her and she still feels (a tiny part of her, at least) that it is unfair of him to do so. Swara had to be made to understand by Shomi that she has to prioritise the people, that chasing a mirage is never worth losing a dream.

Simply lovely the way you have written, despite ending it on a warning.

Eagerly awaiting the next update,

love,
Nyna

Part 3

"There are moments which mark your life. Moments when you realize nothing will ever be the same and time is divided into two parts: before this and after this"

Fallen the movie

Ironic isn't it how life is just a collection of moments. Things change within a span of seconds one moment you are born and then the next moment you grow up. One moment you are single and the next moment you are bound in a relationship forever. Everything is just a fleeting moment. If there was one thing that she knew was that she had to stop him at any cost otherwise she would lose him forever. The thought of losing him send shivers down her spine. No she will bring him back she thought as she maneuvered her car through the busy Kolkata traffic.

"I talked about leaving you forever but every fiber in my body wants to be with you. How will I survive this separation? I wish somehow I could freeze time" Sanskar mused to himself not remembering that we should be careful about what we wish for. His flight had started boarding he was about to get up when his phone started ringing. Even before looking he knew it was her.

The phone kept on ringing.

"Dammit Sanskar pick up" Swara said she was aware of the danger of using her phone while driving but she needed to talk to him everything else be damned.

He had to hear her voice and before he could stop himself he accepted the call on the 12th ring. Her melodious voice echoed in his ears.

"Sanskar Maheswari don't you dare get on that plane. I love you and only you. I love you 1 2 to infinity please stay" She said in between sobs.

"Swara Shh are you driving, crying and talking to me at the same time. You know that's really unsafe"

"Typical Sanskar I am fine don't worry so are you staying?"

"Where are you? I am coming back to you. I promise" He stopped in the middle and Swara heard a loud bang.

"Sanskar are you there what's happening? Are you fine what was that noise? Sanskar please answer me" She shouted on the other side of the phone.

The line went dead.

She called him again but his phone was switched off. She had a tingling sensation in her body something was not right. As soon as she reached near the airport she could see long queues of reporters and news channel vans in front of the security gate. A crowd had gathered in front of the gate. She parked her car at a distance and got out.

"Kia hua bhayia yay log sab yahan par?" She asked a nearby shopkeeper.

"Woh didi app nay news nahi deki abhi abhi airport main bomb blast hua or news walay keh rahay hain kay terrorist abhi tak andar hain" He said nonchalantly not realizing that his words were causing a lot of distress to the other person.

She ran towards the gate like a woman possessed. She made her way to the front but was stopped by the guard.

"You can't go inside this area is being cordoned off" He blocked her way

"No you don't understand I need to go. He is inside. I need to find him" She said hysterically

"I am sorry I can't let you go inside" He said and looked at her sorrowfully.

"Please let me go Sanskar is inside I know he is" She said when the jolt of another blast made her lose her balance.

She saw the main airport building going up in flames that was the last thing she saw before fainting.

Author's note:

I was immensely bored by studying economics. So thought to write the next part. Hope you guys like it😊
