Hi Nalini my dear 🤗 🤗
First off, thanks so much for that dedication. It was a pleasure to help in what capacity I could, and I must tell you, I've been so looking forward to this piece right from January. 😊 I felt very touched by your mention.
As we discussed the last time over PM's, I am huge fan of mythology and the epics, Indian especially, but Greek as well. The concept of the Moirai has fascinated me, in fact, the whole interplay of fate versus free will is of great interest to me. One of the metaphysical mysteries so many of us puzzle about, isn't it---how much of our ultimate destiny is preordained, and how much is based on free will. And this question is so meaningful for SwaSan---they are so meant for each other, such intertwined souls. They seem truly brought together by the fates themselves.
The prologue was immensely moving. The start itself, grabbed my interest---the way you described the ambience of the Maheshwari study, the furnishings, the sunlight streaming in. I am a big fan of describing settings, scenery and so on, apart from character portrayals and emotions of course. And the lovely way you did that really brought the scene to life.
I could almost visualize the Sanskaar in his late 70's, a little stooped, but remarkably resilient and still with a formidable presence. You described that soul keening, silent sorrow of his so very poignantly. I could literally feel his anguish--I would hazard a guess that Swara had just passed away that morning?
Those lovely memories which run through his mind, of their loving, incredible journey of a 50 years spent in joy, love and togetherness---splendidly described. One could feel the palpable love and adoration between the couple.
I got a feeling that Sanskaar desires nothing more at this moment, than to join Swara in the hereafter. Life has no meaning for him without his very heart, his soul by his side. That last sentence, describing how he longed to live again, for one more time with her; before falling asleep in each others arms again---was so bittersweetly poignant, so profound.
Looking forward to your memoirs one by one. 😊 Is the original episode you planned, going to be one of the memoirs?
Lots of Love,
----Viji
