Res 😊 Will Un res tomo as soon as I feel better Shru. 🤗

Un-Res 😊

Shru, my dear...Really feeling awful about this late Un Res...I've been meaning to comment for days now, but have been feeling so completely under the weather. Hope these dratted cold viruses get booted out soon! 😊

Coming to Chap #23, you know, Shru, despite the pain and anguish both Swara and Sanskaar were undergoing, I felt a tinge of relief that their interactions still continued despite the heartbreaking scene which the preceding chapter ended in. Sanskaar thinking that Swara had rejected his proposal since she blamed him for the stain attached to her reputation; and Swara thinking that Sanskaar proposed to her (and attempted to fill her maang), not because he loved her, but because he felt obliged to rescue her from the scurrilous talk circulating about her.

I was fearing that they would withdraw completely from each other, that Swara would attempt to cut off all contact and interaction, thereby leaving them both feeling heartbroken and shattered. But the lovely nuance you introduced here was, though there was a tension on their bond, an obvious feeling of pain; they really couldn't keep completely away from each other. The way Sanskaar calmly but firmly insisted to Adarsh that Swara would ride with him; the way Swara put up no resistance to this proposal---in fact, by going with alacrity to stand next to Veer, she signified her assent to it!---was such a lovely touch. The way they could not help gazing at each other, drinking in the sight of each other almost---was very, very poignant.

Though not related to this plot, I was reminded of that epic scene in the serial, after the confrontation SwaSan have when Swara says Sanskaar's love for her was a "dhokha", and says that from then on, they wouldn't even be friends, now they had to just focus on the mission, after which she'd go her way, he would go his. Sanskaar was (and looked) completely heartbroken, but calmly agreed to do what she wanted. A little bit after that, there was this scene where Sanskaar got very upset at the way Ragini was taunting Swara, and started raising his voice to remonstrate with her. Swara with just one glance at him, and calling out his name, shaking her head to ask him to calm down, immediately got him to subside. That was the beauty of the SwaSan bond---whatever their problems were, (and there were several!)--the underlying connect between them, the fact that they were in a very real sense, intertwined souls with inextricably linked destinies--was clearly evident. I loved the way you brought this out in your way, by describing the return journey, where though they hardly converse, they draw comfort from the few hours they can be together.

Again, though it is not in the same context, I was reminded of a song from the film "Dil Toh Pagal Hai". The lyrics seemed apt, though not the setting (which in the movie, is a cheerful one).

Do chaar kadam pe tum the
Do chaar kadam pe hum the

Do chaar kadam yeh lekin
Sau milon se kya kam the

Sigh...the bittersweet emotions they must have experienced, sitting so close together yet with that yawning gulf between them 😭 😭... I loved that touch about Sanskaar adjusting the way he sat, so that Swara had no alternative but to lean on him for support, instead of tiring herself out by sitting ramrod straight. 😳

The whole sequence of their return to Maheshpur was evocative of the citizens of Ayodhya warmly welcoming Ram, Sita and Lakshman. 😊 I don't know if this parallel was intended, but I was reminded of that lovely scene from the Ramayan, and seeing how you have referenced some aspects of the epic in DK, just made that analogy slip into my head! 😊

Sanskaar's warm welcome by the family was lovely to read about, and his insistence that they extend the same honorable welcome to Swara and Pawan was such a fine gesture. It reminded me of the way you'd described Sanskaar in an earlier chapter---that honor flowed deeply in his veins. He would never countenance injustice or churlishness shown to those who deserved so much better.

So Pawan and Uttara huh? 😉 Hmmm...Sanskaar is going be torn between his roles as a protective elder brother and an affectionate best friend. Pawan is practically like Sanskaar's soul brother...but I guess the path ahead for that romance with Uttara may not be too smooth. Especially for the times in which you have set DK, Pawan would be viewed as being of inferior social standing to Uttara, no matter how gallant he was. Would be great to see how Sanskaar persuades his family to be more broad minded.

The way Annapurna perceived the changes in Swara--registered how she'd become much more resolute, mature and dignified---was a nice touch. And she and Sujata both noticed Sanskaar smiling tenderly at Swara, when she was welcomed back by both her mothers as well as Shekar. Annapurna, I am sure, would have no problems accepting Sanskaar's love for Swara; but I am not too sure about Sujata!

And Ragini---conniving and machiavellian as ever! Was trying to welcome to Swara, embrace her as if nothing had happened, as if she had not attempted to malign her, throw her repeatedly in harm's way and even have her killed! God, how deeply evil has taken root in her nature. 🤢 Though she had certainly started feeling some remorse earlier, it evidently wasn't too heartfelt. I wonder when her true realization would start?

The ending was superb---Sanskaar firmly and menacingly telling Ragini to stay far away from Swara, that he would never let her harm Swara anymore. 👏

Will comment on #24 in the other comment I have res'd. 🤗

Lots of Love,

---Viji

Hi Shruthi,

Hope you have gotten better.

Oh!! Poor babies!!! Who says physical separation is painful. Mental separation is equally agonizing. 😭In fact even more so. Even though your loved one is right in front of you, you cannot talk to him/her. Its as if there's a huge chasm which you cannot cross. But... but but but however much there is a rift they cannot just let go of their closeness. They both need each other's presence near them. (Reading those lines I was reminded of this song- Tu hi meri hai saari jameen, chaahe kahin se chalu, Tujhape hi aake ruku. Tere siwa main jaau kahaan koyi bhi raah chunu. Tujhape hi aake ruku)

Even Adarsh realized that there is something between them 😆. How come they know so much about each other and yet be so blinded in some matters. 😡. They know that what the other is thinking. They can feel each other's pain, They even know that they cannot sleep without the other, yet they cannot read the fact in each other's eyes that they are completely, deeply, madly , irrevocably in LOVE with each other? Grrr...😡(Sorry for the rant, what to do, these two are maddening). What are they going to do once they reach the palace? Looks like you have kept a lot of yearnings and pinings for them in store.😆

This Adarsh is confusing me. Somehow I cannot make up my mind in regards to him. Sometimes he makes me suspicious and sometimes he looks like such a thoughtful and a nice guy. What is he a villain or a good brother?

So Lakshya and Sanskar finally meet. But looks like he is still unaware of the magnitude of Ragini's deception. Is he still under the misconception regarding Swara ? I think I get my answer in the next chapter.

I love Sanskar, but can I say that I love him more !!!!!!!!!!!!

He got a grand welcome, which he truly deserved and which was long overdue. And giving equal credit and demanding respect for Swara as well as Pawan. Wow!! I don't think many who could do that. He is always thoughtful about his loved ones.

Hey, what have we got here? lokes like Uttara has a little crush on Pawan. So can we expect a small love story between these two? Please, pretty please...

Here I am bribing you with these

Ugg!! Ragini. Thank you for not letting her touch Swara. And Sanskar, ready to battle anything evil coming towards his Swara.

Waiting for the next update. (But health comes first. Do take care.)

love

Geet

Res for chap 24. 😊 Will un res this as well tomo.

Un-Res

Hey Shru 🤗 🤗

Back finally for the Un Res. 😊 The cold and cough germs finally got fed up of me and deserted...😉

Coming to Chap #24, what I loved most was the deft way you portrayed the family dynamic, the shocked reactions of the Maheshwaris and the Gadodias to the firm, unrelenting way Sanskaar exposed Ragini's truth. As expected, Shekar and Lakshya chose to shut their eyes to logic and reason, and believe Ragini's histrionics and melodrama! That lady does know how to play them both, doesn't she?

I've always thought that Shekar and Lakshya resemble each other a lot---they are a sasur--damaad duo made for each other! And perhaps, the reason why Ragini is so fixated on Lakshya is that old theory that every girl looks for some traits of her father, in her future husband! Ragini must have loved the malleable, weak kneed, cloudy intellect which Lakhsya possesses---so reminiscent of her spineless father. 🤢

Those subtle undertones of the glances Sanskaar and Swara exchanged were so lovely. It was as if they were drawing strength from each other; giving comfort and assurance to one another, although things between them weren't exactly rosy at that point. That's one of the best things about SwaSan--whatever their differences may be, they deal with it between themselves. Sanskaar would rip apart anyone who dares taunt or try to hurt Swara; and thankfully, the Swara in DK is equally staunch and protective about her prince. 😳

No matter what barriers (largely imaginary) are between them right now, the fact is that they have become so much a part of each others being, each others consciousness, that they really cannot function without the other. I guess Sanskaar has finally realized that, the issue now is how he is going to go about convincing Swara. She needs to be assured that he wants to marry her out of love, out of the fact that he cannot imagine an existence without her. But Swara, plagued by the insecurities of her own parents' unconventional union; and the scurrilous whispers and innuendo about her own "culpability" and "reputation" might certainly need a lot of persuading before she realizes the truth...

I loved the way she stood up immediately for Sanskaar, when Shekar and Lakshya were casting doubt on his explanation of what Ragini had done. Not even a thought of sweeping the whole sordidness of Ragini's machinations under the carpet, staying mum for the sake of "protecting" her sister. 👏 👏 Thanks Shru---for portraying Swara the way we always see her--a strong, no nonsense type, who is certainly empathetic and giving, but is definitely not a doormat!

Ram Prasad---I have always loved to explore his potential as a Dad, on the existential conflict he must have faced, torn between his duty and immense regard towards his elder brother, and the genuine love for his son. So glad the Father in him, carried the day as far as Sanskaar was concerned. Better late than never. Though I suspect Ram would never quite be able to forgive himself for staying silent when his beloved son was accused of treason and carted off to prison to ensure unspeakable torture; at least, he is showering him with paternal love and support now. That was an emotional scene indeed, where he narrated how he had come to realize Sanskaar's innocence, and had realized Sanskaar was only pretending madness, in the time needed to uncover the heinous plot which had been hatched against him.

And Annapurna, too, regal and commanding as ever, told Durga Prasad frankly that she'd always suspected Sanskaar was only pretending to be mad. 👏 Durga Prasad certainly received loads of surprises that day! 😆 Though I am really happy that he sought forgiveness from Sanskaar, apologized for the years of torture he was subjected to; I do get a sneaking feeling that had Adarsh or Lakshya been in the same position, Durga Prasad's decision would have been different. He may claim all he likes, that he always thought of Sanskaar as a son (it certainly was moving, the way he acknowledged that he'd failed as a father); but I still got the feeling---here was the difference between considering someone like a son; and really being a father to a son.

And then started Ragini's pin point acting. 🤢 Man, whatever pangs of guilt she experienced certainly weren't enough for any lasting remorse or a quest for genuine redemption. She is still selfish and grasping, bent on holding on to the things (read Lakshya!) that she's grabbed. Well---in a way, Swara is fortunate after all. Had Ragini not done what she did, Swara might well have wound up married to Lakshya. 🤢

Shru, why do I feel Janki's slap to Ragini to get her to shut up served two purposes? It certainly showed Janki's protectiveness and concern for Swara, she did not want Ragini to speak nonsense about her. But it also served to forestall further angry intervention by Sanskaar. Might Janki be trying to safeguard Ragini from being complete;y exposed after all? I don't think she's evil or negative in that sense---she does seem genuinely fond of Sharmishta, and cares for Swara immensely. But a part of me wonders, whether she has realized what Ragini did, but would like the whole issue to be stalemated as it is, with people believing different things and reconciling themselves to an uneasy truce.

Loved the ending too, when they were all, under Durga Prasad's orders, retiring to their respective apartments. The concerned glances Sanskaar and Swara exchanged were so lovely. Their desire to be with each other, draw and provide succor to the other, was so palpably evident. Nice touch there.

I will comment on #25 as soon as possible, my dear.

Lots of Love,

---Viji

Chapter 24:
This was a rather short chapter but an important one since it revealed the secrets of not one but two people in the Maheshwari family.

I liked Sanskaar not allowing Ragini to continue with her BS for even a second longer. He tells the family the whole truth & everybody's reactions are believable. I had always expected Lakshji & Shekharji to trust Raginiji 😊

selmagravys:I like to imagine Petyr reciting Machiavelli a lot.

Ragini could teach Machiavelli & Baelish a thing or two😆 It won't take Sujju long to side with Ragini once she finds out how Swara has "phasaoed" her bhola bhala chora. I have high expectations from AP though. DP I am still not sure about😕

Ram was almost as effective as AP usually is. While she is all fire he was the exact opposite, though the ultimate effect was the same. In a calm & composed manner he went on to expose Ragini. I liked the part where he felt a betrayer deserves to be betrayed. Both father & son are so similar like that😳 Seedhi baat, no bakwaas😎 I am happy that DP didn't stretch RP's betrayal, if it can be called that, much. Why won't a father help his son, especially if he believes that he is innocent & being framed!

I fear for Lakshji's safety this night. Ek toh itne dino ki dooriya + slaps which increase his wives moh moh ke dhaage feels...phew! 😆

The highlight of the chapter along with RP's revelation was Swara standing with Sanskaar. She didn't keep quite, she didn't lie for her sister & prove him wrong, she didn't ask him to not reveal the truth about Ragini. Like a true partner, once he started speaking and she saw no one was believing him, she stepped in to offer support in the only way she could. Of course that ended with her getting hurt but the man who truly matters is put at ease knowing that she chose him over her lying back stabbing sister.

So off they go their separate way to spend yet another night without one another I wonder how long before they are back spending all the nights for the rest of their lives in each other's arms

Heyy shruti... This update is indded very important to put sense in everyone that ragini is now what she looks like... Without a doubt we all know that sanskaar will always protect swara and that is exactly what he did...

He told his entire truth to him family, including the evil plans made by ragini and himself against swara and laksh... Ragini, like expected, tried playing the victim card, and laksh as expected fell prey in front of her crocodile tears...

Ram being the witness was kind of surprising, but im sure durga prasand would not doubt his brother's words, and also the thoughts put forward by his own wife, annapurna...

Durga prasad then making the decision of letting the brave warriors, sanskar swara and pawan rest, and continue to discussion the next day.. But then ragini not having the nerves to wait, and to an extent disappointed that her fake innosense was not being able to protect her evil truth... What was seriously pleasant was the slap on her face by janki.. Though the slap should have been for a completely different reason, but for the time being, the slap made ragini shut her mouth...

Looks like a long path of separation and longing for swara and sanskar and with everyone around in the palace, no chance of any interaction...

Love this update and waiting for next part... Basically looking forward to the weekend for your update...

Lots of love, and best wishes for early recovery of your health..

Updated for 24
Short but really impactful stuff Shru !!

The Shadow of the Wind is one of my favouriteee books, and its a treasure trove of lovely quotes, including the one you've used...and it came together so well in terms of the chapter and all its unraveling...

I do wonder though...who is the Sphinx referring to in this chapter ? :)

😆😆 at Lakshya's reaction to his 'recently reconciled brother's words'...i dunno why that made me laugh...but it did...it did...

I don't even want to sigh at Shekhar's reaction...and while i think I might just be tempted to channel all my frustration from tv Shekhar to DK shekhar..i shall resist...👏👏👏 for Swara...yayyy...I wasn't a tad worried that your Swara will cower and give in to forgive Ragini so easily...she's made of better stuff :) and kudos for standing up for him against a different him who is supporting a her :P *its midnight and mood is to talk in riddles, ignore me*

Sanskaar Sanskaar Sanskaar...much as I admire you on this journey...really you want Lakshya to use his brains...don't hurt a man and call him out on what's missing 😆😆

On a serious note, that was such a fitting reply, he obliterated the Lakshyaji ka whiny comment in defence of DDD with such class and simple logic !! Also really liked that he's kept all the facts for everyone to see, so that DDD doesn't turn around and accuse him later. He's owned up to his stupidity as well and while we all know he's not proud of it, he's made sure the rest of the palace knows as well. Obv not an easy task !

Well if RP's entrance wasn't the best dramatic entrance, I don't know what is (even though he's so freaking calm and composed)...him telling DP...i made sure you thought it was your decision to make me stay back..that is total seeti bajao moment !! Lux and father seem to share some traits...well only some...

Interesting choice of words here he used about Sanskaar valuing Swara's life...does daddy dearest know how his son's heart beats ?

It seems catharitic for him to talk about everything he's known so far, and how he wants his son to know he should have done better in the initial days and later did everything to help to recompense for that initial error in judgement. When he finally directs his words at Sanskaar and the hug that Sanskaar gives him, it's such a beautiful moment ! Superbly done...

AP as usual doesn't disappoint, and I think as parents/aunts they have done so well for Sanskaar's wellbeing. I'm glad you didn't stretch the whole DP dwelling on RP's behaviour part. It was to the point and he acknowledged his mistake and started to mend the fences. All 4 parents get full marks (well Sujata gets proxy marks for shedding copious tears :P will be exciting to see if she flips out about Sanskaar and Swara, but in the earlier chapters she seemed to be the only one who noticed Sanskaar's behaviour with Swara astutely so I have hope :))

Lakshya doesn't give up...bechara..i mean I feel for him...supporting his wife and also his own image 😆😆...as duplitious as him...umm DDD is far ahead there RP...but like any prince he shuts up when the king commands...so 1 point for him there.

Janki's slap and rant for DDD was amazing 👏👏...so totally well deserved and something I'm sure Sanskaar was itching to do as well !! ugh...what a nasty piece of work she is...doesn't think before stooping low twice...In the war of her multiple personalities, her vile one always wins and is so dominant !!

Another night of separation for our love birds...but loved that wordless conversation they had ! Says so much...like you said in your earlier comment...soul linked...that connect which they have, it doesn't need anything else...and i eagerly look foward to these testy times, because their love will only shine through this like a beacon :)

Another great chapter Shru...goodluck for your hospital appts...take care...and mwaaah...

p.s : where is veer :P

p.p.s : my brain currently hurts so haven't given mroe thought to the mole at the palace...but will get back to thinking about that soon :)

P&J my rockstar !! 🤗🤗🤗🤗
