First of all, a mighty congratulations to you all for Swara and Sasnkar's marriage.
Finally, they are one! 😳
I am starting this one shot series, all this basically takes place after Swara takes her place back in the MM, after SwaSan's marriage. It is basically about the dreamy husband-wife relation that SwaSan share (or will, in the future, hopefully) and fragments of the little drama that is characteristic of MM. I don't know how many OSs are going to be there as this is still under planning.
Thank you all for your love on my previous and still incomplete story, Firestones. I am sorry to have left it that way, but the plot that I had planned was probably too dark. If I get another idea as to how I can take it further in some other way, I surely will.
Meanwhile, enjoy this short OS.
Comments are welcome. 😊
OS#1: SUMMER
The Maheshwari Mansion stood tall and proud amongst the shimmering rays of the just risen sun. The palace-like sandstone walls seemed to have come alive today. After a long, long time, a morning of smiles had dawned on the Maheshwaris.
Sanskar sighed deeply, contentedly as he sunk himself further into his wife's tender arms-his head nestling into her bare shoulder. She used her fingers to gently stroke his hair, her palm placed on his stubbled cheek.
The alarm had gone off half an hour ago, and Swara had intended to wake with it like she always did, but she perhaps had forgotten that she now had a husband who would keep her to himself the entire day, if given a chance.
Swara didn't mind though, she was still immensely fatigued with the enormous drama that had occurred in her life, both physically and mentally. Their divorce, then her leaving the house, then Kavita trying to wreak havoc, and those horrid nights that she spent in the lockup-finally culminating into their marriage that had taken place yesterday. And where was she to find more comfort that in her husband's warm embrace to help her overcome her tiredness?
Swara was also apprehensive of the mood in the Maheshwari Mansion. Though they were all immensely happy with Sanskar and Swara finally getting what they deserved, there also had been a major episode in the house yesterday with Lakshya choosing to marry Kavya, his ex from college rather than Ragini. And what's more, Lakshya and Ragini had already signed the divorce papers, and the proceedings had begun in the court long ago. Not just she and the others, but shockingly, even Ragini had been unaware of this.
Swara sighed. Her life couldn't be deprived of entertainment at all. But now that she had Sanskar, she wanted to be selfish for just a while and not delve into her sister and Lakshya's life. If Lakshya still thought that Ragini deserved such treatment, then their relationship was probably not meant to be.
She was distracted from her thoughts by Sanskar's long, supple fingers that were drawing arbitrary patterns on the skin around her clavicle.
"You have such beautiful skin, Swara. So pure, so soft. I could look at it all day."
She blushed.
Sanskar snuggled in closer, wrapping his arms more securely around her.
"Sanskar, I need to get up. For the morning aarti. I am going to have to do it from today, since Ragini's not here now."
"Ma will do it." He said without even moving.
"No, Sanskar. I am the new daughter-in-law. What will everyone think if I sleep till this late on the first day itself? And don't you have office? Come on, get up."
There, his wife was back.
Sanskar reluctantly loosened his hold, and finally opening his eyes, gazed into her beautiful face. And he just couldn't help himself. Raising himself up a little, he softly touched her lips to his.
"Go," he whispered.
Swara smiled at the child-like look on his face. She extracted herself from his embrace, taking care that the sheets that she was wrapped in stayed put as she took up a random sari from the cupboard and disappeared into the bathroom.
Sanskar meanwhile pulled Swara's pillow to himself, hugging it close as if it were her. Her pillow smelled so much of the enchanting summery fragrance that was characteristic of Swara, that he didn't have much problem falling back asleep.
Thankyou for reading.
I hope you had fun. 😊
