Chapter 16:-
Ragini, Lakshya and Nano are having dinner. All the food items are of Nano's choice. All paneer dishes!
Nano- Ragini beta, you have some kinda magic in your hands, I'm sure. The food is just delicious.
Ragini- Thank you, Naani maa! I'm glad you liked it.
Nano (To Lakshya)- Lucky, you're lucky that you have her as your wife. She is a perfect daughter in law. And the love that she has for you is eternal. Just look at her eyes, they are filled with love for you.
Lakshya looks at Ragini's eyes. Ragini nervously looks down.
Lakshya- I know that, Nano. I know she loves me.
Nano- Really? Don't you love her?
Lakshya (in mind)- I shouldn't tell her the truth. She might be upset.
Lakshya (to Nano)- Ummm...I...I do!
Ragini looks at him with wide open eyes. She is shocked as shit.
Nano- I'm very happy for you both!
Nano (To Ragini)- Ragini beta, for how long have you guys been married?
Ragini- Nearly 5 months, Naani maa.
Nano- And you still didn't get pregnant? Aren't you guys planning for a baby?
Lakshya was drinking water. Hearing these words, he coughs and water spills out of his mouth.
Lakshya (To Nano, shocked)- Ba...Baby? We...we haven't thought of...we're not ready, Nano!
Ragini feels uncomfortable to hear all this. She keeps looking down.
Nano- Look Lucky, I'm growing old day by day. I don't know for how long I'll be living now. But before dying, I want to play with your kid. I wanna feel the baby in my hands. Will you fulfil this wish of mine, son?
Lakshya and Ragini both felt uncomfortable. Lakshya looks at Ragini who was very nervous.
Lakshya (in mind)- Ragini isn't liking all this. She is feeling awkward. I need to stop Nano, anyhow!
Lakshya- But Nano, Ragini and I both are not ready now. We've just got married. We are very young. This is not the correct age for us to become parents. We will have kids someday but not now.
Nano thinks for a moment.
Nano- Hmmm, I agree to what you said. You guys are young, energetic and deeply in love with each other. This is not the correct age to have kids and become parents. But this is the correct age for a honeymoon trip, right?
RagLak (in union)- Honeymoon trip?
Ragini and Lakshya both look at each other and then back at Nano.
Ragini- We don't have much time for that, Naani maa. All the official works are pending and papa is also out of town. If we go on a trip, who'll manage the company?
Lakshya- Yes Nano, she is right. We can't go. I am the boss of our company in absence of dad and Ragini is like my right hand. Without her, I can't do my job alone. She supports me in everything. She has become my habit now.
Ragini looks at him with love.
Lakshya (in mind)- What? Did I just say that without her, I'm nothing? Did I just say that she has become a habit of mine? What the f**k is happening to me? Lucky, you're losing your mind. Be careful. This isn't good.
Nano- I can see that you value her a lot. I appreciate that. But Lucky, you guys need to spend some quality time alone, away from office and stuff! You both are going on a honeymoon trip and that's final.
Ragini- But I don't think Lakshya will...
Lakshya- Fine, we'll go!
Ragini looks at him, shocked as shit. Lakshya also looks at her.
Lakshya (by eyes)- Don't say no, please. She'll get hurt.
Ragini (by eyes)- But Lakshya...
Lakshya (by eyes)- Please!
Ragini slightly nods. Lakshya gives her a warm smile.
Lakshya (in mind)- f**k! Did I just give a smile to her? To Ragini? I don't believe this. What's happening with me? I am becoming softer and softer to her day by day. I married her so that I can torture her but something else is happening. f**k! Lucky, you need to stop whatever is happening before its too late. I can't be soft to her. I hate her! Or I don't? Aahh! I'll go mad now!
Lakshya shouts out of nowhere, without a reason.
Lakshya (shouts)- Aaah! Lucky, you're crazy.
Ragini and Nano look at each other confused and then back at Lakshya.
Nano- Lucky, are you okay?
Lakshya- Ummm yea...Yeah, I'm fine.
Lakshya (To Ragini)- Ragini, get me a cup of coffee. Once you finish your work here, come upstairs with my coffee.
Ragini- Okay Lakshya, give me 5 minutes!
Lakshya walks to his room. After a while, Ragini also goes to RagLak's room with Lakshya's coffee. She doesn't see Lakshya upon reaching the room but she could hear the sound of running water. She starts cleaning up Lakshya's bed. Lakshya then comes out of the washroom, rubbing his hair with a towel. He unknowingly, throws the towel on Ragini's face. Ragini removes the towel from her face.
Ragini- Lakshya, when will you grow up?
Lakshya- Oh I'm so sorry, Ragini. I didn't see you.
Ragini- Am I invisible?
Lakshya- What? No, but I wish you were.
Ragini kind of feels hurt. She comes close to him, very close. Lakshya nervously backs off and hits the wall.
Lakshya- Ra...Ragini, what ar..what are you do..doing?
Ragini blocks Lakshya's way with both her hands.
Ragini- What happened, my dear husband? You like to torture me this way, right? You like it when I get weak in front of you. You like it when I shiver to your touch. You like when I surrender myself to you. So why don't we get even? The same should be done to you! You say you have various rights on me. Will it be wrong if I say that being a wife, I have rights on you too? What if I can say I can do anything to you right here, right now and you can't even stop me. What if I say I can...
Lakshya starts sweating.
Lakshya (nervously)- Ragini, ar...are you...are you gonna take advan...advantage of me?
Hearing this, Ragini looks at him confused. After a few seconds, she bursts out laughing. She leaves Lakshya's way and falls on the bed, laughing.
Ragini- OMG! Lakshya, you should've seen your face. You looked so funny. What you said was even more funnier. How can I take advantage of you? And your face? You were so scared.
Lakshya feels embarrassed by this.
Lakshya- Ummm whatever! I'm...I'm feeling sleepy. Get my bed ready.
Ragini still keeps laughing. This irritates Lakshya.
Lakshya (Angry)- Stop laughing okay, Mrs. Ragini Lakshya Maheshwari? Or I'll take advantage of you now!
Ragini immediately stops laughing and looks down out of embarrassment. Lakshya also feels awkward.
Lakshya (in mind)- What the f**k did I just say? Something really serious is happening to me. I need to visit a doctor ASAP!
Lakshya- No...I...I didn't mean that...I was...Umm, I was just kidding.
Lakshya drinks his coffee and goes to his bed. Ragini starts pressing Lakshya's clothes for the next day's office. Lakshya could see that Ragini was really feeling sleepy. Her eyes turned red.
Lakshya- Ragini, come sleep! You can do all that tomorrow. Its already 11 now. Aren't you feeling sleepy?
Ragini- 2 minutes, Lakshya! It's almost done.
Lakshya- You're too stubborn! Accha okay, as you wish.
After a while, Ragini goes to the sofa to sleep. Lakshya sees that Ragini was sleeping without a blanket. She was shivering.
Lakshya- Ragini, where's your blanket?
Ragini- Ummm...I...I'm not feeling cold.
Lakshya- Liar! Tell me, where's your blanket?
Ragini- I washed it today and it hasn't dried up well yet.
Lakshya- Come here, sleep near me.
Ragini gets shocked.
Ragini- Lakshya, ar...are you serious?
Lakshya- Don't be so melodramatic, okay? I'm calling you here so that you don't catch a cold. If you get sick, I won't be able to handle anything. I don't care for you.
Ragini- But I care for you a lot and you know that. So don't worry, even if I get ill, or even if I'm about to die, I'll still be helping you out in every way possible till my last breath.
Lakshya- Why so?
Ragini- Don't you know? You must be blind then.
Lakshya (in mind)- I know why you care for me so much, Ragini. I just wanna hear it from you. Say it once!
Lakshya- What do you mean?
Ragini- Okay, I won't waste anymore time. I know you hate me, you won't ever accept me as your wife but the fact is that I love you. Simple and straight, I'm saying it right on your face that I love you.
Lakshya- Since when?
Ragini- Since the first day of office!
Lakshya (In mind)- Liar! So you won't admit that you're Guddi, will you? Don't worry, my dear wife! If you're obstinate, then don't forget I'm your father in obstinacy. I'll make you admit that you've been loving me ever since you've known me.
Lakshya- Are you sure you started loving me since the first day of office?
Ragini- Yeah!
Lakshya- But then you told me you used to love some other guy for sixteen years.
Ragini looks down, having no answer.
Ragini- Ummm yea...I...I lied to you then.
Lakshya- You lied to me then or are you lying to me now?
Ragini doesn't respond. She simply keeps looking down.
Lakshya- Ragini, look at me! Look into my eyes and say what you said just now. When did you start loving me?
Ragini still doesn't respond.
Lakshya- What happened, Ragini? No answer? You are lying now, aren't you? You have loved someone from the very beginning. Who was he? Say it, Ragini! Who was that guy?
Ragini starts crying and shouts out of frustration.
Ragini (shouts while crying)- You! That guy was you. I have always been loving you. You went away from me, I cried. You came back, you ignored me, I cried. You insulted me, I cried. You bled, I cried. You cried, I cried. Your pain hurt me more. Your closeness with Tina hurt me like anything. I fell in love with you without wanting your love in return. I never expected your love. I loved you unconditionally. I was ready to give up everything for you. I am so deeply in love with you that I'm ready to do anything for you. I know you hate me yet I wouldn't have stopped you if you had wished to touch me. I wouldn't have stopped you if you wished to make love to me. I would do anything for you and your happiness. I Love you, Lakshya Maheshwari. I LOVE YOU!
Lakshya has tears in his eyes.
Lakshya (with teary eyes)- Why do you love me so much, Guddi?
Ragini is shocked as shit.
Ragini- How...How do you...
Lakshya- I read your diary. I didn't want to read it but I just ended up reading it.
Ragini (with teary eyes)- Why didn't you tell me, Lakshya?
Lakshya- Why didn't you tell me, Ragini?
Ragini- Because I was scared. I just couldn't raise enough guts.
Lakshya- I swear I didn't even touch Tina after our marriage. I just wanted to hurt you. I was hurt, angry. I didn't want you to feel any moment of happiness. I knew you love me. So I wanted to hurt you emotionally by getting close to her. But trust me, I didn't do anything with her.
Ragini cries and hugs Lakshya. Lakshya gets confused. He doesn't know what to do. He's falling weak day by day. He hugs her back.
Lakshya- I don't think we can become a normal husband-wife couple but we can become best friends, right?
Ragini breaks the hug and looks at him, surprised.
Ragini- Of course, Lakshya!
Lakshya- Thank you, Ragini. But please say once that you love me. I like it when you say that.
Ragini blushes.
Ragini (blushing)- Lakshya!
Lakshya starts laughing.
Lakshya- Accha okay, come sleep here now. You'll fall sick if you sleep on the sofa tonight.
Ragini- Okay!
Before sleeping, Ragini kisses Lakshya on his cheek. Lakshya feels shy. Ragini also blushes.
Lakshya- Ragini, what did you just do?
Ragini- I kissed you. Look Lakshya, now that you know everything, I'm gonna kiss you anywhere and anytime I wish and you can't stop me. You might not love me but I love you and I'll keep kissing you every now and then!
Lakshya- Whatever! Now sleep, good night.
Ragini and Lakshya both sleep on the same bed that night. In the midnight, Ragini wakes up, kisses Lakshya's forehead and goes back to sleep.
