Superb!!

Annupurna's entry was mindblowing,.. She came at the last moment and stopped Sanskaar from signing those papers..

She is such a strong woman, she knew everything about Durga Prasad Maheshwari's affair but she didn't confronted him on that.. She didn't want her husband's head to bow down out of shame..

The prologue with SwaSan was <3..
U r an amazing writer...

Thanks for the pm

The ending made me so very very happy! In fact everything that happened made me so very happy! 🤗

Part 1 -

The starting! Oh my Gosh ! So dreamy and steamy!☺️ The nature, the description of the sun and finally our favorite couple !*sigh*What I would give to be in Swara's place! 😆 😆 I am a complete besharam I know 😳😛 While I am being a complete besharam can I just go ahead and say how much I loved the fact that you actually went ahead and gave them that extra time. Sanskaar would forever be grateful to you Viji!😆 And if Swara from here is anything at all like me she would be thanking you for it too!😛😃 I of course loved reading that bit!😆

Have I mentioned how gifted you indeed are at making even the intimate scenes look so very beautiful? Seriously, no one would think anything other than two souls uniting when they read it -apart from the really naughty ones like me, who would use their own imaginations and go into the details of the act. Jokes apart, very very beautifully done Viji! You have an amaaazing amaazzing gift. Now, when can I have a book of yours added to my collection? 😃

Me, you and if I'm not wrong Medhu and Shru too have shared a special place and love for the very first SwaSan sindhoor scene. In my opinion, I loved it more than the actual one during their marriage , of course that one has a special place in my heart too however, the first one remains my favorite till now. I also loved that dream sindhoor sequence too, however a dream isn't really the same is it? ;) So to have you take that (I hope I am not wrong about your inspiration for that scene) and turn it into reality while also comparing the three and describing how this time it was completely different from the other two ,making it all the more special. They were now man and wife in every way possible! Added benefit was of course that you made me remember all those times! *sigh*

Part 2 -

Ah hah! I so was right - my theory that it had to be DP and could never be RP ! Yayy!! *does a happ dance* Sanskaar's dad did not let him down! My baby was so glad and happy and I was so damn happy that he was happy! 😃😃

I loved how SwaSan are now completely and openly relying on each other for comfort! Such a happy wala feeling that gave me. I would however want to tell you that through this entire part , SwaSan was an afterthought of sorts, RP and his son were the protagonists as you clearly meant for them to be. The way Sanskaar lashed out at his dad, believing that he had broken his trust - clearly angry that he had taken away his hero, his pride the very last person who he would have imagined to break his trust. It clearly showed how much Sanskaar depends on his dad, even though he knows he would forever be in his bade papa's shadows and never venture out. He has accepted that fact and in fact come to admire that trait of his! It was your typical Sanskaar, nothing escapes his notice - ever!

I equally enjoyed Ram's reaction to it and your very detailed description as to how much he valued his son's opinion of him. He is ready to accept disappointment and even ready to accept second place as his son's hero but what he clearly cannot accept for his son to misunderstand him and in a manner as despicable as that! RP was not many things but a good brother, son, husband and dad( though he did feel he hadn't been as active and fair on fulfilling this role as the others but he nevertheless had always been loyal and loved his son more than he would ever openly acknowledge) were definitely something that he was and would always be. (At least the one here is since we hardly ever get him to speak his mind on the show, or for that matter speak at all. Why is that actor being paid again? 😛)

That story on DP and his affair with Kaveri , so very believable. Kudos for coming up with that back story, DP - his dad- his mentor - daughter and finally our very own Ram coming to the rescue. The best part to the entire story was DP and RP's equation , clearly very father - son . What better than the fact that Lakshman was going against Ram on this one could have been used to make DP see how he had clearly lost his way and bring him back! Now if only another bhai in the household had inherited those genes! But the one we see now on the show is definitely on his way huh? ( becoming Lakshman from Lucky 😛) Though I still am wary on his sudden change of heart towards SwaSan.

Ragini , I noticed has completely turned herself into a vamp! There is clearly no comeback for her after everything she has done. So much of hatred and vile in her heart. Can you really make it all go away? Well with the promo that has now come out, I can't honestly believe she can turn positive after that. Well if we do get our SwaSan remarriage, I really won't mind suffering yet another illogical and absolutely crappy twist in the story - as long as they are married! Because we all know what that means in serial world - you cannot be the main leads and married and not get together at the end , no matter how far away the end is. 😆

Coming back to the story, I was so happy to once again see RP choosing a "dad's role" over that of a "brother" , clearly standing up for his son and once again questioning his brother at his "so - called" love for his "like son"! That man seriously infuriates me now! The very name makes me want to break something over that bald head of his! Gahhh! I despise that man! And here is our very own Sanskaar who is ready to sacrifice all his hard work for a guy who doesn't deserve to be called papa - bade ya chote , period! No matter how ridiculous I think he is being I can't help but be proud of my Sanskaar.

Btw - I so knew. It had to be AP who strode into the room!

Part 3 -

Will you believe if I tell you that I had a feeling that AP knew about the affair before I read this one?

Considering how you have portrayed her character before , albeit as a more cunning and selfish than the one here, I knew you would keep still portray her as the head mistress of the house and Grand matriarch! Which made me think that a secret as big as this had to have come out in front of her one way or another and so it did. 😃

Chapter 1-

Clearly explained the differences and the importance of having a home built out of love over the one that held nothing but despair and dread. That small bit where you mention how a father's favorite is always the strongest of his children while the mother' s is always the opposite. So true and in AP's case very apt! Her acceptance of this fact and her regret over not seeing what Ragini was underneath that meek appearance. ( I cannot however accept or forgive the soap AP for being so completely blind, especially after everything that had happened before. How can we forget that famous confrontation AP , Sujata against Swara. This AP will forever be the dumb wife and completely biased and serial wala MIL - ugh! hated that woman!) However, I will for now and for your AP , who has always been more tactful and intelligent than the one on the show, assume that the showdown never happened and she never doubted Swara and questioned her the way she did. Which makes it easier for me to see why she could have never seen this coming! The last part where you one again describe how what she heard not only shocked but also humbled her - gave it away! She so knew it! 😃

Chapter 2

Ragini as we have clearly mentioned time and again , especially after the whole attempting to kill Swara incident - needs a psychiatrist! Seriously, this girl might not be completely mental but her head clearly is not right. She needs therapy. All that misplaced anger and hatred - can drive a person mad if left unchecked which is clearly what is happening to her. Daadi dearest please apne laado ko bacha lo!🤔

Sanskaar! - To give it all up for a person, a family that had always been anything but fair to him. Only this man, only my Sanskaar could do it! So so proud!❤️

I know the scene where AP gets into the study was supposed to be this huge and very important bit but I couldn't help but 🤣 🤣at daadi being scared while getting dragged along by AP into the study. I mean amidst all the revelations and declarations and the papers and sign, how did AP manage to get a hold of her and drag her into the study in the nick of time? I'm guessing she was already out, with her ears pressed on to doors and all AP had to do was pull her inside. That lady can never be good.. like ever, this I think all of us have inferred from the stupid track.

Her entry and the consequent tearing of the papers and the expected flung onto Ragini's face gave us as much sukoon as I would like to believe AP got by doing it. The bit where she explains to a dumbstruck Ragini how she had always known the truth "cherry on the cake" moment. I guess I have yet to learn and experience more about love and relationships but that quote about love, I cannot seem to agree with AP on that one - The heart of woman who loves forgives many blows. Blows I can understand, not infidelity. Well maybe it's because she is a woman from another time. I did however relate to her when she warned Daadi to pack her things and leave before she had to resort to another far worse a method to make it happen. That's the AP we know . I also loved everything that followed after. DP finally being silenced by AP herself reminding him he should not kid himself into believing he was "Yudhishtir" of Mahabharat. You cannot pick and choose which vows to honor and which ones to break. Yayy! Go AP! Give him some and then more!

I absolutely loooved that reference to Gandhari and Kunti Viji . How do you even come up with these? Seriously Brilliant! 👏I will not demand an ultimate sacrifice from one of my sons , in order to protect others! Made my admiration for her go up a notch higher! Finally! (Though I understood why Kunti did what she did , it still never makes it okay or less tragic - the fact that a mother willingly and on her own had almost sentenced him death. I have always felt that Karna deserved so much more, a true brother, son , friend and hero - there are of course few incidents where his character is questionable , for example his role during Draupadi's vastrapaharan and him knowingly being a part of the deceit that Kauravs had planned for Padavs . Me and my dad always end up debating him almost all the time he comes up during a discussion on the epic tale! I can however see that you have clearly chosen my two favorite people from it to describe my Sanskaar - Parth and Karn - favorites among the main lot, I have my other favorite among the young lot of course, can you guess who it is though? 😛)

Her thanking RP while also asking him not to downplay what he has done for her and her family and also pledges to not repeat the unfairness with which he had been treated with Sanskaar as well👏 This AP I wouldn't mind having around on the soap as well. If only! *sigh*

She also manages to send away our SwaSan from the madness on a much deserving break! Bless her!🤗

Epilogue -

Valentines day and our SwaSan in Hawaii! ?!!!😲 Well why not ?😉😆

Sanskaar actually knows the difference among the different blues?!!! How did that happen?! My guy friends can hardly make out the difference between dark and light blue, idiots the lot of them. Irritate me to no ends sometimes!🤔

Aww only our Swara can think of something as innocent as going to visit Disneyland while on honeymoon with my Sanskaar. 😆

Of course my Sanskaar had other places in his mind, that he'd rather explore.😛😉😆 And as we can see he gets his way. Smart he my Sanskaar - knows how to convince his stubborn yet adorable wifey.😃

I'm telling you only few can write such things and yet make it sound so darn soulful (I don't even know if that makes sense) and you are definitely one of them!

The last line - of course it has to be "epic" - SwaSan and you writing them - no way it cannot be! 😆

At the risk of sounding like a broken record ,I would still like to tell how truly wonderful it was to have read that Viji. 🤗So so happy! 🤗

Just brilliant. Superb writing skills and amazing plot. Hats off to you for the parallels and inferences you've drawn to the Mahabharat. 👏 👏
I love all your writing, and this as well as your music series and elements series and the old sins 3S, is the very best I have read anywhere on IF. Even your earlier OS like ek chutki sindhoor, saudade and second chances were awesome and are my faves!!

Nothing more I can say would do justice to the sheer power and genius of your writing. Just thanks...for giving us the chance to read your works. 👍🏼

It was the perfect ending to the perfect story. As you know, my favorite one. Since you started with Gandari and ended up not turning her in to a Kunti asking Karna for the ultimate sacrifice I am greatful, for that wonderful touch there.

You know I have always envisioned Annapurna with a queenly aura to her, as I was telling Shru earlier on her new SS, that is the ground to which this woman truly belongs. And since you've already read my take on her in the Frost Knight, you can guess how much I adore the Gandari you made her reflect.

So my guess was right...Ha I knew it! It was Annapurna who walked in, that too armed with the truth Ragini was planning to use against them! Never for a minute did I wonder she could have known it all along.

But the way you narrated the incidents from Ambika's decision to go with the bitter truth instead of the lie that would give a momentarily flicker of joy, to Annapurna's decision that she oughtn't reveal her knowledge to Durga Prasad as she could not see him bowing to anyone, not even herself...that was too realistic, too wonderful. She was truly the perfect match for the wise old king right?

Then Ragini...the slithery serpent! I'm sure if she tried on the sorting hat it would place her in Slytherin without beating an eyelid! I'm so glad at her way her card castle stumbled in the face of the first wind. And then even before that I was smirking at the way she was frightened by Sanskar...too good!

Then their refusal to submission had dulled her victory...wow! I mean that was so marvelous!

I'm glad Annapurna decided to fight for Karna instead of pushing him towards more sacrifice. It showed how worthy she is of the title she holds within that family. The way she asked Durga Prasad to break this one vow and then the way she stood up against Dadi and Ragini those interactions were pure gold my dear!

I was so touched by the way, in the past she recollected, she came shattered back home and embraced her children and found her peace in them...That build up a beautiful imagery in my mind and it was utterly pure and serene I almost had tears in my eyes!

Coming back to present I'm glad she asked Sanskar to leave and acknowledged everything Ram had done for her family...too good this woman is.

Finally the Shanti Parva, the eternal peace finally attained. So Swara wanted to go to Disneyland? Well ask her after a day or two, she might change her mind meanwhile! The delicate peace was so sweet after the initial bitterness of the continuous struggles right? it was wonderful journey and reached an equally serene destination.

I'm glad you wrote this Viji, but sad it ended so soon. Looking forward to your next already.

loads of love,
Saku

Saku my dear...🤗 🤗

You already know, by now, how much your comments mean to me. Both as one of my dearest friends on the forum, whom I consider a younger sis; and as my favorite writer whose works I just adore. This series being of special resonance to both of us, the Mahabharata analogies and parallels, it meant the world to me, to have your feedback.

I'd shared with you how full of "Saudade" I was yesterday after concluding the series. 😛 Your comment really uplifted me and made my evening!

About Gandhari & Kunti---yeah, I had given that brief hint in my comment on your thread, saying how I saw parallels in Annapurna to both these Characters from the Mahabharat. Here, I wanted to show how she realizes she's been playing Gandhari's role for so long. She wants to stop that, and she wants to avoid the plight of Kunti, a decision she is forced to make on the eve of the War.

You, I and Shru have envisioned Annapurna with that regal aura, that depth and layers to her character in a few of our works. This is another of the common interest you & I share, apart from our fascination with the possibilities in Ram Prasad's character, his inner resilience, purposefulness and strength. 😊

I knew you would guess that it was Annapurna who entered the study---but I am so very glad that the fact she'd known of Durga Prasad's brief liaison for the last 25 years, managed to surprise you. That's a huge compliment for me, managing to surprise the Sheldon/ Gardener of our forum! 😊

So happy to hear that you liked the conversation between Ambika Oswal and Annapurna, as well as Annapurna's decision to finally not reveal to Durga Prasad that she'd already come to know the truth. Ambika did think fleetingly of protecting the girl she liked so much from the bitter truth; but then, she realized that the truth may hurt badly for some time, but the lie could potentially hurt much more, for far longer. And as for Annapurna, she again, does think of confronting her husband and imagines him apologizing profusely to her. But she realizes that she cannot see him shamed and humbled before anyone, not even herself. She does not want him to know that he has lost that pedestal in her eyes. Love is a funny thing sometimes, na?

Ragini is definitely Slytherin like here. She is so full of schadenfreude, she feels her victory had lost its sheen when the vanquished do not throw themselves upon her mercy, and still have confidence in their togetherness. Somewhere I do feel Ragini has been shown as too villainous in the serial, to be redeemed easily or even convincingly. So better to give her her due as a formidable, conniving and fearsome antagonist. But she is still extremely wary and a bit scared of Sanskaar of course. Cunning and dissimulation cannot hope to stand up to sheer strategic brilliance, after all. 😃

Annapurna decides that she definitely does not want to become Kunti, emotionally asking Sanskaar to make a sacrifice to protect Lakshya/ Adarsh. She has realized that just as Ram was always the backbone of their family and never quite got his due; Sanskaar similarly was treated as their Great general, the prized warrior. But he was always taken for granted, the true heir to the throne based on his capabilities, but who was never given that due.

I also loved writing her line to Durga Prasad, that he could not pick and choose which vows to break and which ones to keep! That was one line I so badly wanted her to deliver---she has forgiven him for his sordid breach of their marital vows, so now she has earned the right to insist he break another, arguably less serious vow (since it was, after all, made under coercion). And she is very clear, that since the vow was anyway made keeping her health in mind, she is ready to bear the consequences if needed---that is between God and her, but under no circumstances will she allow Sanskaar to be treated unjustly again.

Thanks for saying you loved that scene from the past, Saku, where a completely shattered and distraught Annapurna finds solace from her kids. I had tears in my eyes when I wrote that, and I am so happy to hear that you felt emotional while reading it, too. That assured me the moving nature of the scene I wanted to convey, had come through.

And as for the epilogue---Yes, Swara would have liked to visit Disneyland to meet Bambi, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Snow White and the others. 😆 But her intelligent hubby had other, far better ideas of what to do with their time. 😳 ☺️

Yup, they find a slice of paradise in that exquisitely serene and beautiful destination. Much needed couple time! 😉

Thanks again Saku. 🤗

I know Lakshya is the pampered child but seeing the reason from the point of DP and AP it is justified as they think he is the one who mended their relationship back
Ram is always sidelined but when you showed Annapurna giving him credit for her mended bond with Durga Prasad it was awesome
Annapurna's transformation from Gandhari to Kunti was just awesome
Ragini is a 🤬..let it be don't want to talk and discuss and spoil my mood

Thanks for the pm

Hey Mansi...🤗 🤗

Dozens and dozens of jhappis, and a HUGE thank you, for your absolutely lovely comment. Coming from a fellow writer like you, it meant a lot to me.

I am so very happy that you liked the parallels I was trying to draw between the characters in the Mahabharata and the characters in Swaragini.

Lakshya becomes the pampered child of both his parents owing to slightly different reasons---Annapurna feels her husband ended his brief liasion owing to his sense of love and responsibility for their unborn child; while Durga Prasad feels so guilty and remorseful at his indiscretion when his wife was pregnant, he transfers all that into an indulgent affection for his newborn.

Thanks for your very warm words about like Annaourna's pirtrayal---how she wants to stop playing Gandhari's role, and does not want to shut her eyes to the faults and defects in her own family anymore. She also does not want to experience Kunti's plight, of having to ask one son to make a sacrifice, in order to safeguard her other sons. So she refuses to let Sanskaar sign those property transfer papers. And she finally realizes how her Devar has been the strength of their family, just as Sanskaar has always literally been the backbone, holding the family together. Finally, both of them get their due respect.

Oh, so you want your cousin to have a boy so you can choose his name as Sanskaar, haan? 😃 Wonderful choice yaar!

And you would like to name your future baby, if its a girl as Swara...that's so very cute. 😊 May your wish come true!

Hope your bro and his wife have a bonny bouncing baby. Let us know finally what name they chose! 😊

Glad you liked the epilogue. Yeah Swara is so innocent she wants to enjoy taking selfies with Snow White, Bambi, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty and others! But Sanskaar has better ideas of how best to spend their honeymoon. 😳 ☺️

I was truly touched and humbled by your warm and generous praise yaar. Thanks a lot. I've said before that I love the way you interweave 2 of my all time favorite on screen pairs--SwaSan and ArShi in your SS. So this feedback coming from you, really made me feel on top of the world yesterday.

Thanks again, Mansi! 🤗 🤗

thank you for dedication again among others. it feels so good and honoured! 😛
well, as soon as I read the title Gandhari's sight and kunti's plight and then word Annapoornaa, I got it , Annapoornaa knew the truth already. but couldn't get who was playing kunti then!
I remember in my Hindi class, ma'am was saying instead of facing the truth, Gaandhaari chose to become blind! utterly wrong move! so , here it was Annapoornaa's case.
here, she like true matriarch, a queen, strong yet soft, so graceful dedicated herself for protecting her family. that home and hapoiness reference is quite meaningful.
you penned down so Annapoornaa's feelings with so poignancy , it made my heart heavy while reading. never felt this much loathe towards Durga Prasad! and that making her baby sleep! so heart wrenching!
but in that thought process, she remembered Sanskaar too. she loves him so much but again she always chose to be generous towards her sons.
the confrontation!
guess, it would be much more painful to her when she would have come to know, her husband had not come on his own but he was forced to come back. and
she cleared the matter so gracefully and efficiently. nice move it was. ( Viji! you won't forget CD Naa!)
it was so nice to see her taking stand for Sanskaar.
I agree with this without a doubt, that the one who is most efficient and nice human being, always endures more pain and challenges, faces more difficulties!!
Thank goodness! finally Annapoornaa chose not to be Kunti(now got it),finally he got the justice.
Ram prasad and Sanskaar's conversation was so good!(like you mentioned Surya gave warning to Karna) especially the lines said by Sanskaar. and Sujaataa as usual in her own world. I think she would have gotten a pleasant surprise in case of banishing Raagini when she would have come to know. :P
and Shaanti parva! :))
you know how much bitterness I have felt before, all the thoughts vanished as soon as I read happy Swasan. :D felt so light hearted. :)) Seriously, it feel so content to see Swasan's happy and content. :))
PS- Nice destination haan!! and Seems , blue is your favourite color!
PPS- Brilliantly written Viji! Hoping to read your next work soon. 😊

Toshi my dear pal...🤗 🤗

You are absolutely welcome about the dedication, it was my pleasure. Your comments and your interest in this series were very motivating.

That was a very perceptive insight by you, that Annapurna would have known the truth from earlier. 😊 Yeah, similar to the Great Queen Gandhari in the Mahabharat, Annapurna is aware of the truth here, but chooses to shut her eyes to it.

But she has a lot of grace and dignity inherent in her nature, a regal aura and bearing. She does do her very best for the home and family.

Thanks so very much, dear, for saying you loved that scene where a shattered and distraught Annapurna derives some solace from her sons. That was an emotional scene for me to write, and I am so glad you liked it.

She loves Sanskaar too, for her, he is the son of her heart, though not of her womb. But she does have that bit of partiality towards her own birth sons, especially Lakshya. In this series, I wanted to depict that this soft corner is owing to the fact that she knows Lakshya is the weakest of all the sons, and also because, subconsciously, she feels that Durga Prasad terminted that sordid affair and returns to them, because of his love for their yet to be born child.

I wanted to show Durga Prasad as having definite shades of grey in this OS series. He does feel a lot of repentance and remorse for his transgression, but still, he would rather make his nephew undergo that sacrifice, than let his own image get tarnished in front of his family. Its another matter that Annapurna already knows everything, and he is not aware of that!

I can't forget that CD, Toshi, what to do...😆 😆 That was readymade evidence which could put Ragini in jail, and make her stop all this malkin nonsense. But no one seems to even remember that CD in the serial! I wanted to use it in my OS series at least! 😉

You got that right, Annapurna wants to stop being Gandhari, and wants to open her eyes to the truth. But she does not want to make the choice Kunti did either, asking one son to make a massive sacrifice, to ensure the safety and well being of the others. She decides that they have all taken Sanskaar for granted long enough, made him suffer enough. Now he needs to get his happiness and peace of mind, has to be treated fairly by the family.

Ram does want to protect his son, he also has had enough with the way Sanskaar has always been taken for granted, always asked to ensure more. So he counsels him sincerely, that he need not make this sacrifice (similar to Surya cautioning Karna about Indra's plans). But Sanskaar was still prepared to make the sacrifice, before Annapurna stepped in.

You are one of the few people who commented who also remarked upon that para featuring Sujata. 😊 I am so very glad yaar Toshi. I wanted to pay tribute with that with Sujju's essential "Sujju-ness". 😆 She is really in her own world, she sees a lot, but never registers or comprehends anything. Many times an irritating, but one must admit, a very entertaining, crazy character! 😆

Ah, you loved Shanti Parva, huh? 😉 I loved writing it too, dear. SwaSan go there for their long delayed honeymoon, and much needed couple time! Maui is an amazing place yaar...its really a slice of paradise on Earth. And yes, blue is my absolute favorite color. 😃

Thanks again Toshi...I am planning to write a short OS, a light hearted one, not so intense. Need some days rest to recover from the emotional intensity of this just concluded series, and then will start work on that.

i am so glad that you have shown AP reliving sanskar of his burden to bear more and endure more than anyone else. guess we synched really well on that karna, arjun theory...i loved how you put it in words.

great ending to a wonderful story ...each section has its own place.

Hey Sapna...🤗 🤗

Thanks so very much for those lovely words. Yes, I did want to show Annapurna as having a lot of innate strength, an aura and a regal bearing to her nature. She does seem to have a lot of depth to her character.

I agree with you completely, I did not want to show her finding out in the present time, and to have her delusion shattered. Instead, I wanted to depict her having found out about it years ago, just after Durga Prasad's liaison with Kaveri ended. And yes, though she did think of confronting her husband, imagined him begging forgiveness; she realizes that she does not want him to bow his head, feel ashamed before anyone. Not even herself. She no longer places him on a pedestal, but she does not want him to have the ignominy of realizing that. Its an odd stance, perhaps, but love does funny things sometimes to people...

I'm really so glad you liked the portrayal of her stance towards Sanskaar in the end. Annapurna decides that she has had enough of being Gandhari, and wants to confront the truth head on now. But she does not want to experience Kunti's plight, of having to ask one son to make a sacrifice, to ensure the safety and well being of her other sons. She realizes that its high time they all stopped taking Sanskaar for granted.

Thanks a ton, Sapna, for your lovely words about the Finale as well as the entire series.

Loads of Love,
