Dearest Shruti 🤗,

Thank you for the special mention at the start. You have done such a tremendous job of showing insight into Adarsh who has been a collateral damage in the war.! 👏

The title of this part itself is so very apt. Rewarded! And you have so beautifully shown what each person in this story has been rewarded for their deeds and misdeeds.

Part 1 - Ragini and her dearest Dadi: I had thought she had died with the chilling description you gave in Recompensed of her body at the foot of the stairs *shudder*. Giving her the affliction of 'quadriplegia' is a fate truly worse than death. Her reward is truly a terrifying reward indeed. And her dearest Dadi finally realising that they had indeed wronged their own loved ones and the Gods themselves had turned their backs on them. So terrifyingly described yaar! Loved the justice served! I am going back to check if I have done any evil deeds in my life 😛😆

Part 2 - Kaveri: I have mixed feelings for this person. On one hand, the background you have provided for her makes me feel sad for this beautiful child that was turned into a monster because of circumstances of her birth which were never in her control, and then the cruelity of the world that hardened her heart leading to a misguided vengeance towards the only person who provided her with a little hope and then crushed it unknowingly. On the other hand I feel that her reward was justified for her actions in the present times. All in all, this must have been a really difficult task to portray her misguided vengeance and finally the little (mind you teeny-tiny) remorse which can never be brought to life due to her 'ek taraf kua ek taraf khai' situation. You have done a really good job showing this.! A very great job indeed.👏

Part 3 - Adarsh: Thank you so much for this part. I really really needed some insight into how he would have taken the whole being-Kaveri's-son-and-Annapurna's-adopted-child situation. You made me really happy with the description of bond between Adarsh and Parineeta and the support of Parinneta. It was beautifully portrayed. And lets not forget Annapurna's thoughts. She can finally put the niggling doubt to peace and love her eldest son just as much and if not more than her youngest. Shruti, you have given me so much more than I expected!! 🤗

Part 4 - SwaSan: Anything said here would be less than what I really want to say. You have left me with such warm feelings of a beautiful happily ever after for this awesome couple. Their love is reflected in every single line. Indeed SwaSan needed this reward more than anyone I know. Hope they enjoy Bora Bora to the fullest.!😉😆

One thing I have been dying to point out from the very start of this comment is the last line! The whole Restitution series has been so beautifully ended in this last line. 👏 !

Looking forward to more writing from you. :)

Hey Vrinda,

Thank you so much for this hon! You not only helped set of a chain of thought re Adarsh but also left me such lovely feedback, am so grateful! The mention was deserved I felt 😃. That was exactly my intention with this part- people getting their just desserts:)!

To be honest I think quite a few readers thought I had killed her off at the end of part 3 but in a karmic sense that would be too easy almost. I don't delight in her outcome as that would be as evil as her but she did so much she had to pay back. It is a terrible outcome though. Haha I don't think you need to worry V- the deeds they have shown Ragini carrying out are so extreme if anyone thinks of their karma they can't be capable of anything like that 😆
Kaveri is a conundrum. She did have a bad start and many people do but it is still always a choice. It is like in the Mahabharata, of which I am a huge fan. I have this debate with many people about characters like karma (not that karna is in any way anything like Kaveri of course). You choose which path you want to take. Here Kaveri bought too much into her victim status and rather than let her experiences make her compassionate she turned malicious and it was her undoing. I am so happy you felt I tackled this in an acceptable way- it was hard to write and quite gruelling actually to delve that much into both Ragini and Kaveri in one story.

There were such possibilities with Adarsh, I went with the one that felt most right. I wanted to highlight that he isn't the strongest or best character but in his own way, he can be steadfast and in his devotion to his mother (Annapurna) he was. I also wanted to try and bring some of Adarsh and Parineeta having a good marriage after having overcome their problems too. And yes, Annapurna. I have always had a fascination for her, they just don't deal with her in that way in the show. I felt that as I wrote it, Annapurna was an admirable mother for all her failings and so deserved that Adarsh chose her and rewarded her for her upbringing.

Thrilled the SwaSan part was so loved! After all the main motivation behind writing on this forum was them. I so cannot wait for this couple to truly get their much deserved love and union so at least in our stories we can make it happen. Thanks for liking that concluding line! It just came to me as I wondered how to effectively finish off!!

Thanks for this V, lots of love to you always xoxo

Shruti 🤗 This is perfection!! And Sanskaar This is the Sanskaar I love and adore!!!
I loved the Kaveri and Sanskaar Conversation. He is ruthless when it comes to protecting people he loves. You harm the person he loves, he would render you helpless within moments. I loved how he closed all the loose ends and made sure that kaveri has means of reaching his family.

Ragini is now paying for all her actions with a punishment worst than her death. I actually felt bad for her.

SwaSan as always were magical I can imagine Sanskaar fussing over swara and Swara getting irritated with him for fussing too much.

Thanks for that mention at the very beginning though I think the end of part 3 was pretty much self explanatory😳

GRRM had once said that when a character dies you should feel for him. I agree with the man completely. It doesnt matter if the character is a hero or a villain, but if the writer is good the readers will feel the pain the character goes through in his suffering or death. That is exactly what happened here while reading Ragini. She is a first class bitch but when I read your description of her rotting away in that nursing home I couldnt rejoice. I had gone in full prepared to enjoy her plight but I just couldnt! I felt very sad & distressed seeing her like that. Such brilliance & all that wasted Surprisingly I felt less sorry for Parvati because where I do understand Ragini & her motivations I do not understand Parvati at all. Or I do but cannot empathize with her🤢

Kaveri was another interesting character in your SS. I had a great deal of sympathy for the old Kaveri but the current version is exactly where she should be!😆

Flint eyes stranger who stood before her like a dark avenging angel

Aww a little AdRi angle huh!😆 Last week I watched a few old SR episodes. This couple actually had some dialogues you know?!😆

That early morning description of SwaSan☺️ ☺️ ☺️ ☺️ ☺️ ☺️

😲 This ends with only a ticket to Bora Bora??😵 More! More!! More!!! Please😳

P.S.: Have you read Honor among Thieves by Jeffrey Archer? You used the phrase & had also earlier referenced to Clifton Chronicles toh uss book ki yaad aa gayi 😳 Its a superb book!!

Shruti 🤗

Thank you for this considered comment like always, you know how much I like reading your take. Whilst you say that you found the end of part 3 obvious, a lot of readers felt that Ragini had been killed off and I did leave it drafted that way:).

Ah yes re those words by GRRM! That is exactly how a writer approaches a character. Positive, negative, grey, indifferent- each one is like a child to the author- they are their creations and whatever fate befalls them the aim is to make the reader relate, be that in making one fall in love, hate or whatever other emotion we wish to inspire through that character. I am therefore really glad you felt that with Ragini. When I set out to write this as you may recall I was furious at Ragini and wanted a fate worse than death for her, which I sketched out. However by the end of it, I myself couldn't feel satisfied in that. You can imagine that writing the whole thing out turned out to be rather gruelling especially once Kaveri was dispensed with too. Ragini is a study in wasted potential and a truly tragic soul in her way. I too have never been able to really relate to Dadi.
Kaveri did morph the way you say for me too. By the end, I was tired of her victim complex and like I wrote to Vrinda, it made me feel that she needed to be accountable.

Haha you like the idea of our hero like that huh?

AdRi 😆 Seriously they have actual interaction and dialogues?! Wow!

So happy you like the SwaSan romance 😳. Lol Viji wanted a trip there and you want more! :). Well there will be more in the honeymoon diaries I must get to at some point but at the moment the present track makes it harder to focus on that amount of bliss 😭

Re the PS: don't know if you read my reply to you on the precious part? I have read almost all of JA's works, just like Sidney Sheldon and yes Honour Amongst Thieves was one of my faves. I mentioned my additional connection with The Clifton Chronicles there. I like how he uses biblical phrases like the sins of the fathers and other well known adages too like honour amongst thieves to construct such intriguing plots and titles.

Lots of love as ever xoxo

Shruti🤗. I loved this one! It feels as if I'm rewarded to read it! It was amazing.👏

Staring with Ragini. Oh My! I actually felt bad for her while reading. Quadriplegia is something worse than death and she has been punished beyond repair. Poor girl, it really must have been harsh for her. The endless misery that she had to cope up with.

Then coming to Kaveri, well that was deserved I guess. Although, she had lost quite much in the past, yet I believe she got what she deserved!

Adarsh and Parineeta make a great pair. with Parineeta as his support in all times. Everything is ok now. He excepts Annapurna and Parineeta is pregnant!

Finally SwaSan! The two halves of a whole are just so magical and you made it so ethereal to read with your perfect metaphors and choice of words👏. Their love was so pure, selfless, unconditional and yet passionate and irrevocable. Just loved it. I ain't got beautiful choice of words like urs, as I'm no writer.

P.S.- U've read Harry Potter?? Trust me I'm more than crazyyy for that epic saga of a wizard.

Hey Sakshi sweetheart 🤗

Aww such nice words for me, thank you so much!

Yes I must admit by the end even I was moved to compassion for Ragini, despite having started off not having thought anything I could do to her would be enough for what she's done to SwaSan. She is truly deranged in my head and thus there was no redeeming her, she needed to be neutralised forever.

My Kaveri seems to have evoked a lot of varied and interesting reactions, that's such a pleasure as a writer to read!

It felt good to give AdRi some focus, always lacking on the show and yes, I felt in my version Annapurna deserved that acceptance as it takes a truly strong woman to accept another's child and not discrimate against it to his detriment.

I am so thrilled to read your take on how you felt I portrayed SwaSan in the end! I sense a writer somewhere in you Sakshi? I have never been wrong so far with anyone on this forum and you can always tell from the way people interact with you where there is that potential even if they say they don't write 😳.

Sakshi- I am a huge HP fan!! You will have seem me sometimes use the quotes and I have a very well thumbed and much read love for my HP collection!

Lots of love xoxo

Dear Shruti,

A truly amazing end to a beautiful series - the way the characters have been wrought and spun is mesmerizing!

It is so surprising and tragic that all the actions of the characters have been wrought from love and loss - Kaveri's vengence, Sanskaar's journey through revenge and redemption, Swara's travails through loss and forgiveness, Ragini's fall to depths of hell! Clearly, despite each of them having loved and lost - the choices they made to deal with the same, show how different our lives would be if only we had the courage to let go and move on. But then it is not so easy, is it, especially when the line dividing good and evil is so thin, and revenge is so thrilling!

"If only it were all so simple! If only there were evil people somewhere insidiously committing evil deeds, and it were necessary only to separate them from the rest of us and destroy them. But the line dividing good and evil cuts through the heart of every human being. And who is willing to destroy a piece of his own heart?"
Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn, The Gulag Archipelago 1918-1956

We have truly been 'rewarded'😊

Nyna

Hi Nyna dear 🤗

Thank you ever so much for having been a steady companion on this series, have really enjoyed interacting with you and am very grateful to you for your kind words. Thank you!

That's such a perceptive observation- yes love and loss can inspire great things, both terrible and wonderful, depending on the person reacting to the experience. We all have capacity to do good or evil, it's which path we take that is the true test of our character. I love how you have summed it up!

I have not read The Gulag Archipelago but I had come across that quote when I wrote my fiction Against All Odds, not sure if you have read it? I didn't use it in the end but reading it now brought it back to me! Really loved reading your comments!

Hope to "talk" more in the future!

Regards,

Shruti
