'How can you compare..?': Rupali Ganguly reacts to comparisons between Kyunki 2 & Anupamaa

Television audiences have long held a deep connection with iconic Indian serials, and few shows have matched the cultural impact of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. As the beloved classic returns to the small screen, comparisons between Kyunki and contemporary hits like Anupamaa have naturally emerged. However, both industry veterans and the stars involved are urging viewers to appreciate each show on its own merit.

Producer Ektaa Kapoor recently addressed the wave of comparisons and firmly discouraged the trend. Speaking on the matter, she said that it is unfair and unnecessary to pit two female-led shows against each other. Ektaa said, ''Kyunki is coming and this and that. I felt there was such bad taste. She is such a big star. Anupama, the show, Rajan, the creator, have done what nobody else could do in the last seven years. They will continue to be number one and they should continue to be number one. We are coming in with our purpose to tell our story.''

Rupali Ganguly, who leads Anupamaa with a powerful and widely appreciated performance, echoed similar sentiments in a recent interview with Times Now. Responding to Ektaa’s statement, she said, “Ekta ji ka badhapan hai ki woh itni achi achi baatein kar rahi hai. Yeh sach hi hai. Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi is a nostalgia. Hum sab keliye badi garv ki baat hai ki woh humare channel pe show wapas aa raha hai. I don't understand how can you compare Anupamaa with Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi.”
