This one is soo beautiful. You know the best part about this one is ragini's redemption. I loved the way you portrayed her character in this TS particularly. 👏
Sanskaar - ragini conversations are always very interesting.
Now...coming to my favorites portions. ...We'll yes obviously the swasan parts. I loved them really 😳. I particularly loved the way swara described sanskaar's eyes. He indeed has very attractive eyes...and then that kiss..!! Man...now that was hot !☺️☺️
I loved how you associated the theme with the ragas. Lovely 👏
Honestly viji...i love anything and everything that you write. Please keep writing. I always look forward to reading your brilliant works.😳🤗

Hey Tuhi darling...🤗 🤗

I was so happy to hear from you dear. You know na, I always look forward to your comments, its an absolute pleasure and privilege to get your feedback. Been missing you for a couple of my works in the last month.

Am very glad to hear you loved the SwaSan parts. Their reconciliation and their romance. Errmm...about their kiss, I was lost in SwaSan dreamland when I wrote that. 😳 ☺️ So am extremely happy that you liked it! 😉 Swara is totally lattoo over Sanskaar's eyes---how could she not be, he has the most mesmerizing pair of molten brown ones, with the added benefit of those long eyelashes and thick eyebrows! 😳

Very glad you liked the theme of music interwoven into this story; as well as Ragini's gradual redemption, her realization and repentance for her sins, and her rediscovery of her own innate goodness.

Big Jhappis to you Tuhi, for always being so motivating about my writing! 🤗

now coming to this ts,
I loved the way you penned down this Ts...
The way sanskar made ragini see her faults...the way u portrayed sanskar's agony of not being trusted by love of his life and then the way they united after swara's efforts..

Amazing piece of work!

Hey Mukta...🤗 🤗

Thanks again for these very lovely words. Am glad that you liked this 3S.

Happy to hear that you liked the Sanskaar--Swara reconciliation & romance; Ragini's gradual redemption and rediscovery of the person she used to be; and the role Sanskaar and Swara play in supporting her in this.

You'd asked about my other works, my completed SwaSan fics are on my index, the link is on my siggy at the bottom of my posts.

Once your exams are through and you have time, please go through my other works and let me know what you thought. Your feedback always means a lot.

Hey Viji... 🤗
Would I sound crazy if I tell that I've just now finished reading it the 3rd time, but still can't get over it?😆

You're truly awesome girl. Having learnt Music for few years, I just loved it even more.😳 Do you have knowledge in Music? For you seem to be more involved in your words?

Anyway, I simply loved it. I don't really know how to put in words. Forgive me for that.

Keep writing and Thanks for the PM. 😛

First off, I am so sorry for the very late review. I was busy im real life and didn't have the time. Even now, I have a presentation tomorrow but I couldn't wait any longer!

Second: Thank you so much for the dedication.
Now onto the review, I love love loved the chapter! That description of Raag Todi is so apt for Ragini. That feeling of unrequited love, emancipation and peace decribes the Ragini of this TS to a T! The bonding between the sisters was great and threw me back to the old days where there was an actual sisterly relationship between the two.
Lakshya is so immature! When I read his thoughts and whenever I think about him, I remember Dumbledore and what he told the Dursleys in the 6th book. He told them that they are damaging their own son more than Harry with the way they spoil him and Lakshya's parents have done the exact same thing! It irks me that he doesn't stand up and accept the punishment for the wrongs he did and how he always tries to find an excuse or pushes the blame on someone else!
Annapurna is so... She is the main reason that her younger son has turned out this way! Whenever I manage to catch the show these days, I am always torn between sympathy and satisfaction looking at her!
And I saved the best for the last! SwaSan are as great as they always are! Loved the part at the beginning and loved how happy they are with each other at the end! Ram Prasad and Durga Prasad ship them just like we do!
Looking forward to your next fic!

Hey Vyshu...🤗 🤗

Hope your presentation tomorrow goes very well. 😊

Thanks a lot for this lovely comment, and am very glad you liked this chapter.

You made be very happy indeed by saying SwaSan were great in this one 😉 That is like music to a SwaSan obsessed fan like myself! And of course Durga Prasad and Ram Prasad are SwaSan shippers---they are the only two people in that house, apart from SwaSan, who have any sense! Bet you loved Ram slapping Lakshya, na? Was long overdue! 😆

Speaking about SwaSan being happy together in the end: I do feel they are so "made for each other" in the best of ways. They have superficial differences, but what is awesome is the soul connect that they share; the very real sense that they complete and complement each other.

Glad you liked the arc of Ragini's redemption. In the end, she has found peace in rediscovering her innate goodness. She has undergone disappointment and unrequited love, and somewhere I guess that does leave an air of melancholy and pathos. But she has managed to emerge from that a stronger person, dedicated to her art, and reveling in the support she has from her sister and friend. I do see Swara & Ragini re establishing their sibling bond, once Ragini has really cleared her mind of this fanatic obsessiveness with Lakshya that had so gripped her mind for so long.

I definitely feel that Lakshya is rather shallow and juvenile. He just doesn't seem to have that intellectual and emotional depth and range. My feeling is, even if he had not developed his infatuation with Swara (which he conveniently termed Love), and had stuck to his engagement with Ragini, he would never have been able to go through with it. Ragini of course, developed a brand of Love that was warped and twisted and selfish; but it was a version of Love, anyway. Lakshya was just incapable of feeling anything so intense, so devoted. In many ways, I feel he is a coward--emotionally, at least. He is happy just being Lucky---the carefree, free from responsibilities chap, who is more in love with himself, than anything or anyone else.

In this story at least, I could not envision RagYa getting back together at all. I would hope that Ragini ultimately finds someone worthier of her, and finds happiness with that person.

And Lakshya, too, I believe, will redeem himself--though that will take a while longer, since he still likes to shift blame on everyone else, and not acknowledge his own failings and missteps. Maybe over the long term. 😊

Hey Swathi...🤗 🤗

Why on earth would I think you're crazy? 😊 You just made my afternoon, evening and night by saying you read this 3S three times and still haven't had enough! Thanks so much yaar, that's like the best thing someone could have said to me.

Am so very glad to hear you liked this so much.

I've learned Carnatic Instrumental (Violin) for 6 years, till I stopped in the last term of my 12th, when I got too busy with board exam preparation. I still practice occasionally, but I'm quite rusty now. I love classical music, though, both Carnatic and Hindustani.

You're absolutely welcome about the PMs. If you are interested and time permits, all my completed SwaSan works are on my index (link is on my siggy at the bottom of each of my posts).

Cheers

Viji

Gosh Viji...I'm really dumbfounded...bowled over with last piece...
Firstly, a thousand apologies for my tardiness...traveling back, so, intermittent connection. Thanks so much for the PM...

My take of your 3rd and final portion of the Rags...

The gentle woman, holding a vina with the forest as background is the synopsis of Rag Todi..At my grandmother's house such paintings, with gold threading are available at the music room. I used to gaze at the painting and wonder how a woman could appear so gentle and the same time be associated with the rag...I remember my grandmother's explanation...a lady is gentle like the lotus flower, breezes thru life full of vigor and offer comfort for those she loves but...the same lady will become the thunder bolt holder if needs raise...she'll do the rudra thadava if needed to safeguard her near and loved ones...same goes with Rag Thodi..the rasa changes from pensive mood to drut..the festive mood...high end...for me, I felt Ragini made total connection with Rag Thodi in your writing...am I correct? ...she was the pensive lady, who turned into a scheming witch to get her love, a furling fury when she realized her love was a wastrel and new lovely young curling leaf upon redemption... I loved your Ragini...she broke my heart with her rendition of Rag Thodi and her transformation ...your piece gave soul to the character Ragini, which I don't think the CVs will ever be able to do in the serial...If they take a leaf out of your writing...I'll do a 'kow-tow'

The grandeur of the Maheswari mansion, seen at the dead of night shrouded in moonlight..gosh it was like me watching the Taj Mahal for the 1st time across Yamuna river..your description gave me the same feeling of looking at the imposing mausoleum - utter wonder...👏

i really loved the part where Ram Prasad slapped Lakysa...Oh yes! That was jackpot for me...The father turning into a protective lion (lioness ???). I had a wide smile reading it and re-reading it...thank you millions!!!⭐️

Great move in getting some assistance for Laksh. Made full sense and very very real. However, in India, going to the psychologist is a taboo thing...everyone assumes meeting the shrink means you are a mental case...Ouch! I love your bold steps in bringing that part in...superb!

The ending...the soulmates meeting...you could be like chalk and water but if your souls 'talk' music is made...rest, let prudence take care...

Yar...really applaud your take of the Rags and making it into a beautiful story...my grandmother would love you...I'm reaching home soon, last leg of my journey...I'll post my grandmother's take of your story...

NB: Thank you for including me in the 'mention' portion. 😊

Wow Jazzy...I am so moved, so incredibly touched and humbled by this awesome comment. You really made my evening, dear. 🤗

I shall reply to this to my heart's content, from my lappie tomorrow. Several beautiful points you've raised which I would love to discuss, and I am bad at typing from my phone. 😊

But in meantime---thanks so much, and I am so glad you liked this. Its a pleasure and a privilege, really, to have your feedback.

Hi Vijji,
First of all thanks for the PM and very sorry for the late review
"Music of the Soul - The Agony & the Ecstasy" you chosen the perfect and wonderful title for this story.I love your all writings and this one of the best among them.
You very well penned the emotions of characters in each and every word.
Actually i not have any knowledge in classical music, but i did some research in google after reading some ragas name in the story and got some idea now.
Ragini's realization part is very nice, its indeed very natural and realistic.
--------------------
@Part 1- You described the ragini's perspective and her feelings very well. I like the sanskar and ragini's equation and their conversation is brilliant.
Sanskar gave the time to ragini to redeem herself at the same time he well prepared with proofs to prove raginis misdeeds if she not ready👏.Giving time to ragini to change herself is very important.
I strongly believe it takes some time for any one to change themselves from good to bad or bad to good, because its impossible to take 360 degrees turn in over night for anyone.
-------------------
@part 2 - This part is fabulous, bit emotional and quite romantic.😳
The entire conversation between swara and ragini in is quite good and raginis remark "Love knows not its own depth until the hour of Separation" (one of my favorite quote) is perfect in that situation.
Swara madam never understood the importance of sanskar till he is behind her now she is carving for his attention😆

Ragini is feeling happy for swara and at the same time feeling some envy which she was trying her best to tamp down👏 ( Its realistic and quite natural in the time of transformation from bad to good)

The swara and sanskar conversation after arati is superb, reasons behind swara doubting sanskar is good, indirectly she is saying that she noticed his protective and supportive nature😃
The remaining conversation is quite romantic and you executed the kiss part very well with love and passion.
-----------------------
@Part 3 - You concluded the last part perfectly, finally ragini redemption done completely and she confessed her misdeeds without hiding any thing.
Finally sisters united again running music school😊 I like the part where ragini teasing swara about her perfect husband😃
Wow one more passionate kiss😳

I am glad you not redeemed lakshya(He is always will be in the 1st place in my hate list😆)
I like that dhadkan movie dialogue in lakshya monologue
Wow the genius lakshya maheswari tried to frame sanskar by showing watch, what a brilliant he is😆
I hate annapurna here she still trying to protect her pyscho son😡
I missed one thing actually i expected few slaps by entire family and hard punch from sanskar which are worth watch😔
You concluded the lakshya part very well by sending him to mumbai, i am glad durga prasad insisted him to consult the doctar😆(more than ragini he really needed to consult the psychiatrist 🤣)

I love the way sanskar stood up against his sujata and annapurna take stand he will live in MM one if they respect his wife👏

Excellent ending

Ramya
