Again, a lovely piece, Saku. Sanskaar's concern for Swara was evident ---he noticed her bruised and bleeding fingers even when she hadn't, and was very firm in asking her to stop playing. Right from then, there is subtle feeling of belonging, liberties they can take with each other, which transcends friendship. I think it was teetering on the brink between friendship and love even then...sad that they had to undergo so much pain and separation before bridging that small gap and making that jump across the brink. 😊
I am normally favorably disposed towards Kavita...have written a fic (Second chances), detailing Sanskaar's pain at her loss, and his gradual moving on to find happiness and love with Swara. But I disliked her in the winter land...intensely, at that. She came across as so conniving...a much milder version of Ragini, perhaps. 😊 I don't mean in terms of trying to physically kill somebody, but that fake advice to Sanskaar still rankles. 😆
And funnily enough, you made me ambivalent to Shomi on the winter land, too, a character I'm normally very fond of otherwise. I can't help but get irritated at her notion of growth in the absence of shade...🤢
I guess they can blame your evocative writing for making me feel this way. 😆
But seriously, kudos for this series. My favorites were 2, 3, 4, 6 and 7. I will be revisiting IK and SQ this weekend. And possibly Elixir too. You are very addictive, Saku...I'm just very glad your writing is Elixir and not poison. 😉
