Hey Ally...😊
Once again, a lovely, nuanced chapter. I really liked how you are moving this story, the pace is so believable and the efforts Ragini is taking to find out what she did, her pathos and consternation at the way everyone is treating her, are so palpable. Very well done.
I liked the different threads in the chapter. Ragini, firstly, musing about how almost all her relationships are strained, worrying about how she would adjust in her parental home after she returns 6 months hence, when her conversation with her dadi is so uneasy and stilted. And the way she reacted when that brief snatch of memory surfaced : of her having shoved Swara, she was so horrified. This was the essence of Ragini, her innate gentleness and goodness, that had been warped and twisted by her fanatic, obsessive attachment to Lakshya...a person who was perhaps unworthy of that emotion anyway, at least, as he was then.
The confrontation between the 4 leads in Swara & Sanskaar's room was also very deftly handled. May I say first of all, that I am so glad you have shown SwaSan sharing a room: this is the perfectly realistic thing to do for a couple who is trying to make their marriage work, give their relationship a genuine shot. The serial completely lost the plot here when Swara moved back, she and Sanskaar saying that they wanted to give heir marriage a try, not proceed for the divorce. But hey, Sanskaar moved over to the guest room. 😕 🥱 Made absolutely zilch sense, even though they were pretending to give it a try on the serial. At least, for appearance's sake, they would have needed to share a room, right? 😊
So I can't tell you how glad I am that your take was so much more sensible and realistic.
Coming back to the confrontation scene, you highlighted each character's responses with pin point detail. Ragini, feeling ashamed of her past actions (such as she can recall), and distressed at Lakshya's naked hostility and contempt towards her. And also, one can see how genuine her affection for Swara, and by extension Sanskaar, is. She flinched when Lakshya made that contemptuous remark to Sanskaar about his feelings for Swara.
Swara clearly has had enough of Lakshya's overweening "concern" for her, which is bordering on a delusional obsessiveness. I liked the way she told him he has no right to barge into her and Sanskaar's room without knocking. 😆
And Sanskaar...steady as a wall Sanskaar. 😊 He really is Mr Reliable, isn't he? Liked the subtle yet firm way he put Lakshya in his place, and showed his support for Ragini, and protectiveness for Swara.
Looking forward to your next chapter Ally. 😊
