Chapter 2
Sanskar walked into the class and occupied his seat next to Ragini.
"Hi Sanskar" Ragini greeted him. "Tumhe pata hai aaj sube kya hua? How will you know wait I'll tell you. Laksh and I came to college together. I made many attempts to talk to him but, he is annoying his every topic would have one word common in it Swara'."
He ignored her and so she repeated herself. Again no reaction "Oi reply toh kar are you observing some kind of a maun vrat today?"
"Why does it matter to you? Mind your own business women"He whisper yelled at her turning away from her.
"You are my business Sanskaar. You are my bestfriend." Ragini told him teary eyed.
"Which best friend tells lie about their best friend" Sanskar asked her turning towards her to see her in tears "Oh god not again"
"Sanskar I thought you understood but I guess I was wrong. I really thought you would not make it in time today. Isiliye I asked Laksh to drop me today. Don't think I didn't see you and Swara. Now you tell me why you came to college with her" she asked him accusingly.
"God Ragini it is because you came with Laksh. Had you not stolen her ride to college Dida wouldn't have asked me to take her along" Sanskar sighed.
"Dida asked you for a favour and you accepted. What about me, huh? I asked one promise from you, just one favour which you willingly accepted but no you don't see why it is important to me. You never fulfil it" Ragini was in tears.
"That's not true Ragini you are the most important person in my life Ragini please don't cry. We are creating a scene here in class" he holds her face and tries to make her understand.
"No I'm not important to you. Never was, never will be. Even now you are only worried about creating a scene here, right? Fine I'll leave" with that she picked her bag and stormed out of class leaving him wondering what just happened.
Ragini stormed straight into Swara purposefully bumping into her. "Are you okay?" Swara asked her.
"You really want to know?" Ragini sweetly asked her.
"Oh god Swara why so sweet there is no one here that you need to impress. Everybody here loves you already unlike at home. So please don't act."Ragini replies low enough for only Swara to hear. Then looks behind her to see Laksh and passes him a huge smile.
"Ofcourse not. You see I don't have eyes at the back of my head to know it was you that I bumped into else I wouldn't even try to be nice, Dear Sister" Swara replied with sarcasm oozing out of her. Ragini fumed.
"I know you hate me for our family loving me more than you and its okay just don't pretend to care" saying this Ragini walks towards Laksh.
"You are wrong Ragini. You are my sister. Of course I'll always love you, care for you. I just hope you realise it before it's too late. " Swara thought to herself turning to see Ragini trying to strike a conversation with Laksh and him trying to get rid of her. "God Ragini try to see the love that is staring you in the eye. Kya karoon main iss ladki ka. Buddhu" she walked towards them.
"Are Ragini what are you doing here. Sanskar is looking for you everywhere. He looked quite worried. Purposely having your best friend worry for you is that a new trend in your Ragini Land these days?"Swara asked her.
"Nahi swara I was just about to go see him"Ragini replied in her righteous tone. "Bye Laksh"
After Ragini walked away abit, Laksh turned her around and gave her a half hug. You're the best Swara"
"I know, I know. Let's go grab a bite I'm so hungry. You owe me" Swara told him.
"Haan chal aaja. Tumhare liye toh humari jaan hazir hai " Laksh winked at her.
"Ek plate chicken noodles se kam chal jayega. Kya haina sirf yahi item hai menu main jo mujhe pata hai tu share karne ko nahi kahega" Swara giggled.
Ragini burned with envy as she saw this exchange she had turned to catch a glimpse of Laksh. "Hum kitni bhi koshish karle Swara kyu humesha tumhe woh milta hai jo hume pyaara ho. You don't even value it."
"Are Ragini tum yaha ho main kabse tumhe dhoond raha hu."Sanskar asked her frustrated. "Tum thik ho?" he looked at her suspiciously.
"I'm fine" Ragini snapped.
"Abhi tak gussa. Here, have some water" he offered her water.
She had some water and then returned the bottle back to Sanskar. "I'm sorry maine tumpar aivi kitna gussa kiya"
"It's okay it's my fault I started it. I snapped at you first. Kisi aur ka gussa tum par nikal diya. I'm sorry?"Sanskar apologised holding his ears and pouting cutely.
"It's ok waise Mr. Cool Subah itne Mr. Angry kyu ban gaye the?" Ragini asked him curiously.
"Woh Swara ne kuch aisa kaha ki main na chahte hue bhi sochne par majboor hogaya tha" he replied.
"Aisa bhi kya kaha usne tumse ki tum itne upset ho gaye"Ragini asks him concernedly.
"Usne kaha ki agar kisiko tumhare dil ki baat tumhaare ishaaro se samaj nahi aa rahe ho, toh use woh baat samjhaane ki koshish karni chahiye" Sanskar replied. There was a comfortable silence between the two friends.
"Acha Sanskar hypothetically speaking agar tum kisi ladki se pyaar karte aur woh samaj nahi paati toh kya tum use apne dil ki baat bata dete? Use samjhane ki koshish karte?"Ragini asked him nervously.
"Tum phirse muje phasa rahi ho na. Just to see if I agree with your sister. Haa see I'm smart I won't reply"Sanskaar smiled trying to change the topic.
"Nahi main gussa nahi karungi bolo na. And this is no trap"Ragini replied.
"Toh phir thik hai. Main use samjhane ki koshish karta"He replied affirmatively.
"Toh kya mujhe bhi kehni chahiye apne dil ki baat?"
"Ideally Haan. But tum kahogi kiss se?I'm the only guy jiss se tum comfortably baat karti ho" Sanskar asked nervously waiting for the answer.
"Kissi se bhi kahungi tumhe kya?Aur tum?" She said looking at Laksh and Swara in the canteen.
"Kissi se bhi kahunga tumhe kya?"He gave her words back to her.
