PART 3

Family

The family was going crazy planning an extravagant marriage when Swara and Sanskar interrupted them to say that they wanted a simple wedding. They wanted the close family members to attend and that was it. This marriage was what mean to it and they didn't want the superficial *tam jham* that came with it. A marriage depends on the strength of the bonds and not the money spent. However they wanted all the rituals that came with it.

It was decided that the wedding will happen as soon as possible. They decided that the Mehndi and haldi would happen tomorrow and the wedding the day after. Durga Prasad had a small idea running through his head as a surprise for Swara. But let's keep that a surprise for a little longer.

While everyone put their plates away in the kitchen and cleared up the mess, Sujata signalled Swara aside. (One of Swara's mahaan ideas that everyone in the house should contribute in the household work, as much as they can contribute, even if it were as little as putting their own plate in the kitchen. She said that this way the bonding and understanding between the family will also increase.)

Sujata wanted to start things with Swara on a fresh note. She had made many mistakes due to her baseless stereotypes and prejudice. But now she was staring to realise that maybe she was wrong. Never before had there been anyone who had so strongly stood up for and supported her son as this girl in front of her.

"Mom, what did you want to talk about?" "Swara, I know that I have never been nice to you or given you the respect that you deserved. But I want to change that now. You have given my chora a new life. Before he met you his only goal was revenge, he became bitter. But because of you, he is back to being the old Sanskar which was lost somewhere." "Mom, all these things are of the past. I've forgotten everything. And I promise you, Sanskar will never lose his smile again as long as I'm with him."

Realisations

Sanskar was walking towards his room when he was confronted with an angry Lakshya. "What the hell are you doing Sanskar? Is this a new plan of yours? You know I love Swara and still? How could you bhai, you can't have her, I won't let that happen! I know that Swara has lost all sense of shame but..." "Lucky! Bas! Not another word! You cannot talk about Swara like that, I won't hear it! Have some respect, she is my wife and you will treat her as such." Sanskar all but shouted at Lakshya. Swara was there and whitnessed the whole event. No one has ever stood up for her the way Sanskar had. It clearly showed on his face how much it pained him to talk to Lakshya like that. How much it pained him to see his brother, that he loves so very much go so far away.

Lakshya still hadn't had enough. "I can't believe it, you've become so selfish, for Swara you're forgetting that I am your brother. She betrayed me and you are still supporting her. I don't know if I should still even call you my Bhai."

"BAS!" came a voice. "lo aa gayi, your so called wife to save the day" Lakshya commented as he saw Swara marching over. Swara couldn't believe her ears. Lakshya was talking about a brother that would literally give up his life for him if asked to. Swara knew exactly how much Sanskar cherished his old bond with Lakshya, and how even today Lakshya's happiness is one of the most important concerns.

"Lakshya, tumhari problem kya hai? Tumne Ragini ke saath aage bardh ne ka faisla liya hai aur maine, Sanskar ne, aur pure family ne iss baat ka maan rakha. Toh again main aur Sanskar ek dusre ke saath aage bardhna chahate hai, toh tumhe kyun iss baat se itni problem hai? Aur tum ek aise bhai pe ungli utha rahe ho jo sirf aur sirf tumhein khush dekhna chahata hai!" Swara needed to make sure that Lakshya understood that she was ready to move on and that too with Sanskar as well as the fact that he needed to know that the brother he was questioning has always been there for him. "Lakshya, hum dono ek dusre ke liye kabhi bhi nahi bane the, Tabhi toh tumne mere intezaar karne ki badli mein seedhe Ragini se jaake shadi Karli, apni marzi se. The way you are behaving right now is really immature! You make decisions in a flash, with so much impulsivity and then you don't stick to them. Do you even know the pain you have caused Ragini ever since the first time your marriage was fixed and then you broke it off, and then again. All for your selfish reasons, and as a result you broke her heart over and over. First look at yourself before you dare question my husband again. And there is nothing you can say or do that will make us leave each other" Swara exclaimed. "Lakshya, Sanskar ek aisa insaan hai jo mujhpe pura bharosa karta hai, and his trust in me has and will never waver. He will always support me and about that I am sure! He truly loves me and he has proven that time and again, unlike our relationship with crumbled at the first hurdle. Sanskar loves me with all his heart and I am proud to be his wife, and now even I..." Swara abruptly stopped and went away amazed with herself of what she was about to say. But as she left she left both brothers in a shocked state. Sanskar pleasantly surprised at the fierce Swara, the way she protected him there astounded him, he didn't know anyone could ever speak up for him in that way. Lakshya was angry. But there was something that was nagging him about the conversation. Had he really hurt Ragini so much? She never complained about anything though. Should he talk to her about it?

On the other hand Swara was shocked at herself. Was she really about to say that aloud? But he was still unsure of her feelings was she not? Did she already feel this way about Sanskar. She reflected back to the moments she has spent with him so far. In the short time they know each other for he has become the best friend she has ever had. She can say and do anything she pleases around him. There is an abundance of trust between the both of them and if asked to ever imagine her life without him, She doesn't think it is ever possible. Wasn't that the kind of person she wanted to fall in... *Hey Bhagwan* she thought to herself with a childlike excitement, I actually... I really... no no no no no, it's happening so fast! But it's true... I love him she thought to herself with a finality. She was jumping around with excitement and that's how Sanskar found her as he entered their room.

"Well? What is the big thing making you so happy?" He asked amused. "Sanskar!" She ran up and gave him a big hug, before Sanskar could react she let go and ran to the wardrobe and extracted two chocolates, opening the wrappers she quickly ran back and popped one into Sanskar's already open mouth and the other one into her own which she ate really quickly. Sanskar, still getting over is initial surprise had his mouth jammed shut, the chocolate Swara had given him had a bit too much toffee for him to chew properly. So all the poor chap could do was wave his arms around asking her what this was for.

"Thank god you can't speak right now, I'm really nervous, I don't know how to do this but I know I have to and I really want to as well! Sanskar! What do I do, I really have to say this! Umm. God! I didn't know this would be this difficult but I guess all I really want to say is that..." Sanskar had just finished Chewing that darned chocolate and was about to jolt Swara from her rambling when he was stumped into silence "I love you!" Swara exhaled. She wasn't worried, she knew he loved her, but there was still this irrational nervousness that engulfed her.

Silence was what she was greeted with. Sanskar was too shocked to react. Did she really say what he thought she did? Wait, she's looking at him, oh shit! He needs to say something! Swara was looking at him expectedly, she was waiting for something, preferably with volume.

"Oh" He breathed out. "Oh?" Swara exclaimed, "I just expressed something so important and meaning hull and all you can say is oh, Sanskaar..." But before she could finish she was interrupted by the softest pressure on her lips as he took her in his arms and held her close. Sanskar kissed her gently putting all his love and care into it. It was a kiss of trust, support, and the promise of forever.

"Oh" Swara said after the kiss. "Oh? That's it?" Sanskar teased her with a wink while resting his forehead on hers as he smiled that special smile reserved only for her.

I am glad that atleast now Lakshya knows how much he hurt Ragini. I hope he apologizes to her and that could be a turning point for Ragini.

All in all, this is a beautiful update and I can't wait to read the next one.

I'm sorry for the rushed confession, but to be honest I have no clue how to write romantic scenes and so they are probably my worst 😛

And yes, In this ss I really want to be able to redeem Ragini's character, I think there were a lot of people involved in making Ragini the way she is.

I don't know how much in detail I will go for the marriage, I want to focus more on the changing relations between the family. But I will try my level best to do justice to the marriage as well 😊
