CHAPTER 9
Finally the audition day of the singing competition arrived. In the morning, Ragini got ready for the college and took her parents & dadi's blessings. She came out of the house and started walking towards the Maheshwari house. It became a routine for her to visit Maheshwari house before going to college as she,Swara, Laksh and Sanskaar leave for the college together in Sanskaar's car'''.
She entered in the house and saw Swara and Laksh sitting with Anapurna. On seeing Ragini, Anapurna said " Aaja Ragini, hum log tera hi intezaar kar rahe the. Auditions ke liye all the best beta"
But Ragini was searching for someone else. She questioned Anapurna, "Aunty, Sanskaar kahan hai?" Anapurna replied "Beta wo aur Uttra bahar kisi restaurant main gaye hue hain. Sanskaar to jana nahi chahta tha par Uttra usse apne sath le gayi ." Swara said "Ragini chal college chalte hain. Sanskaar baad main aa jayega." Then Laksh Swara and Ragini left for the college in Sanskaar's car.
They reached in the college and started walking towards the music room. They entered in music room and joined other students. Their music teacher, Mrs. Neeru Varma welcomed them and said " aap log auditions pairs main denge. Single person audition nahi de sakta." Ragini felt very sad and left from there without telling anyone.
Sanskaar was sitting with Uttra in a restaurant. He did not wanted to come but he promised Uttra that he will give her party so he came with her to keep his promise. He was feeling very strange like he was missing something. He looked at his watch and realized what he was missing. He was getting late for the college. He said "di main college ke liye late ho gaya hoon. Chalo tumhe ghar chod doon phir college chala jaunga." Then they both left for the home.
After dropping Uttra at the Maheshwari house, he reached college on his bike. He saw Vicky and Sneha coming towards him. Vicky said "kahan tha tu Sanskaar? Singing auditions khatam hone wale hain. Hum dono ka audition ho bhi gaya." Sanskaar was shocked to hear this. Then he said "Auditions aaj the? Ragini ne audition de diya na?" Sneha replied "nahi Sanskaar, auditions pairs main hone the aur Ragini to akeli thi. Pata nahi kahan hai? College main bhi kahin nahi hai." Sanskaar said "oh no, kuch bhi ho Ragini audition jarur degi." He was about to leave when Sneha said " Sanskaar jaldi wapas aana. Auditions main sirf 30 minutes hi bache hain." Sanskaar left from there thinking where Ragini would be. After few minutes of thinking, he realized that he knew where Ragini is gone.
He started his bike and left from there. He reached in a park. It was the same park where he came with Ragini few days ago. He began to search for Ragini in the park. He saw Ragini sitting on a bench. He came in front of Ragini. He realized that Ragini was crying.
Ragini was feeling so sad that tears came running down from her eyes. Suddenly she realized that someone is standing in front of her. She looked up and saw that it was Sanskaar.
Sanskaar felt very bad while watching Ragini crying. He sat with her on the bench. He held her chin with her hands and moved her face towards him. He wiped the tears from her face. He said "Ragini I am sorry mujhe yaad hi nahi tha ki aaj audition tha. Chalo tum auditions jarur dogi." He got up and began to leave. Ragini held his hand and said "Par Sanskaar auditions to pair main hain na. Mera to koi partner nahi hai." Sanskaar decided something in his mind and said "main hoon tumhara partner Ragini. Chalo ab jaldi. Humein college jaana hai."
They both came out of the park. Sanskaar started his bike and said to Ragini " baitho Ragini, aur haan ek baat aur humein jaldi college pahuchna hai. Isiliye main bike high speed par drive karunga. Tumhe to high speed se dar lagta hai. Aisa karna jab baithna tab mujhe kas kar pakad lena. Tumhe dar nahi lagega." Ragini agreed. She sat on the bike and placed her hand on the Sanskaar's shoulder. Sanskaar who was watching this from bike's mirror took Ragini's hand and placed her hands around his stomach. Then they both left from there. Sanskaar was driving the bike very fast. Ragini tightened her grip around Sanskaar's stomach.
They both reached college. They began to run towards the music room. When they reached to the music room, they saw that it was locked. Auditions were over. They began to search for Mrs. Neeru. They found her near the parking stand. They ran towards her. Mrs. Neeru was about to go home in her car when Sanskaar and Ragini stopped her. She came out of the car. Sanskaar said "Madam, humein audition dena hai." Mrs. Neeru replied "par auditons to khatam ho chuke hain." Sanskaar requested "Madam please aap sirf 5 minute ke liye hamara gaana sun lijiye." Mrs. Neeru replied "thik hai, sunao. Par yhan to koi music instrument bhi nahi hai." Sanskaar replied "Hain na Madam, meri mouth organ."
Sanskaar took out his mouthorgan and began to play it. Ragini started to sing. Sanskaar too began to sing with Ragini. They were singing so beautifully that students began to gather around them. When they both finished singing, students clapped for their fantastic performance. Mrs. Neeru looked at the crowd and decided something in her mind. She noted down Sanskaar and Ragini's name. She said "Kal notice board par selected students ki list check kar lena." Then she left from there. Sanskaar and Ragini looked at each other and smiled.
Next day-
Next day while going to the college,Ragini kept quiet. She was worried about the audition results.Sanskaar who was driving the car looked at Ragini and realized this.Sanskaar said "Ragini relax, hum log bhi select hue honge singing competition ke liye."Ragini looked at him and smiled sadly.
Swara, Laksh,Sanskaar and Ragini entered together in the college.Sanskaar left for the canteen to meet his friends while Swara, Laksh and Raginileft to attend the class.
Ragini was talking with Shruti and Sneha when someone yelled her name. She looked around, but could not found anyone yelling her name. Someone yelled her name again. She turned around and saw that Sanskaar was coming towards her yelling her name. He came towards her and hugged her very tightly. She saw that some girls fainted at their sight and their friends are carrying them. After few moments of hugging, they broke apart.Ragini was feeling very shy as the surrounding peoples were watching them continuously. She was looking downward when Sanskaar said excitedly "Ragini hum log singing competition ke liye selct ho gaye hai. Main abhi list dekh kar aa raha hoon. Shruti-Vicky aur Laksh-Swara bhi select hue hain competition ke liye."Ragini felt very happy and said "ye to bahut acha hai. Par ab humein roj gaane ki practice karni hogi."Sanskaar nodded cheerfully.
