Whether Ragini will be happy or not but the show actually gave a message that by doing wrong things u do get wat u want after all Ragini did got wat she wants she got married to Lakshya
and Swara should send her to jail logically but nothing gonna happen bcz in RS shows Vamps r saved everytime till they die but in this show Ragini will turn positive n all those wrong doings that she did will be worthless another message to viewers bura bura karo khoon bhi karo aur baad Mein Maadi maanglo Ache kaam karlo saare gunaah maaf wow great message for all for all murderers n terrorists lol

Precisely. And yes, Ragini might or might not get happiness in the long run, but she' shown getting instant gratification, which is still unacceptable IMO.

Leela: No, here "ethics" is NOT another term for "progressive". Because the stuff they portray here is wrong (and punishable) LEGALLY, not just from a moral standpoint.

Krystal, I know. :(
But when they show sensible stuff or they show legal consequences for legal offences, then the track, serial, PH and channel all get a loss.
The more channels there are, the better careers for real people, but more regressive and unrealistic fictional stuff in serials.
Not many people (and definitely not millions) are likely to accurately remember a serial's list of tracks correctly a few years after it's over, but they do remember whether it was watched or not.
The critically acclaimed ones which flop financially, sometimes the actors themselves have the embarrassment during interviews that the reporters don't even know of those and refer to a success from before as the actor's previous stint.
So actors, crew everyone who want to do creative realistic admirable stuff, they have the option of doing theatre as and when they can afford it.
And our serials - even at their most appallingly regressive - are far better than an assorted variety of film (mainstream and otherwise) which actually seem to inspire people into unfortunate conduct.
Serials mostly just inspire copycat behaviour about ladies saris, salwar-kameezes, bindis and sindoor-style.

Serials, PHs and channels have all tried to do progressive stuff despite the trackrecord of losses.
Entire channels got closed. It's their livelihood, and that does matter at least a bit, especially if what they are being asked to show has proven to get not enough millions of viewers.

And inspiring crime is *not* the case, except in the bizarre eccentric stuff like people who do something bizarre because it's in a comic or something.
Serials tracks fictional conduct has to reflect what most of the millions of mass-audience consider acceptable (legal or not), or the track and/or serial closes with loss through not enough millions of viewers watching in India at primetime on TV.
So it's not that the serials tell people how to behave, but rather that the channels face the prospect of losing viewership if they try to forcefeed what most millions of the viewers dislike or disapprove.
It's that showcasing correct ideas seems to end up showcasing loss-making serials getting closed. :(

Better to watch every good educational show - there are some - on TV and hope and wait for those to get good viewership. Because when they start to get good viewership, serials will race to show only progressive stuff. :)

trps wont go down.. one this is family show... a show about two sisters... though love plays a huge factor... but this the actual pictire is a family show of two sisters who was brought up in two different culture due to a past family matter..

the difference mostly in family show and love story is is that even when you replace the actors playing lead pairs or changing the lead pairs wont affect much...yes some people will stop watching, since they cant see their fav couple or actors together... but in general storyline is the most important one... eg for SNS.. when giaa manek was replaced by devoleena, there was a huge fan war... even.though there were a lot of requests by gia's fans to boycott the show... but did trps go down or did it end? no.. instead trps boosted...

in a love story , people generally watch them for their chemistry.. we get too much attached to them.. even though storyline doesnt make sense.. people watch it..fans love to watch this. they love to see their 'reel made couple ' to be together always and its always a kind of image is created in the minds of these fans who love ,watching love stories.. they want to see these two actors portraying this 'reel couple;/. they cant bear see anyone replacing because it might affect the chemistry... eg ; IPK and madubala... once when they said arnav is going to die and barun leaving the show, the fans with their 'fan power' sent mails and made the show shut down...

though some cases , above mentioned.. when even in love stories and family shows, when it isnt able to grab viewers attention, it has to be axed off... .

but RS shows, even they shows illogical half baked ep spiced with lot of negativity, those wont end... the saas bahu kitchen politics and revenge plotting with long misunderstandings,, still keep people glued to her shows.. i just want to find out the secret to this...

coming to this show, swaragini wont be different from SNS and SSK.. the RS secret recipe has been applied to this show now.. making ragini negative.. murder attempts , and black magic...

all i can say is, indian television needs to be reformed to a more progressive thinking... stop or ban these kind of shows which teaches young veiwers on doing all the wrong stuff ( murder attempts , drugging, stealing, plotting against family members, taking revenge) and showing how wrongdoers are not severely punished for their crimes and how they always get away with fake drama... they need to bring more variety to entertaintment... but even saying this, these kind of producers dont give a damn about out viewers opinion and are hell bent on showing crap..

It's wrong to completely put all the blame on serials for someone else's wrongdoings. If you have the right education and know what's wrong and what's right then nothing like this will change your mind. Serials are made for entertainment.. not everyone is going to run behind the show-makers for showing stuff like this, especially when it has been a trend for years not only on Indian shows but US shows, as well. If the 'youngsters' can't differ from right or wrong, then they should be educated properly by the people in their lives rather than using a saas-bahu show as a influence for knowledge.

On TV so many crap things are aired; tying rakhi to the guy who attempted rape on you, manhandling female leads as it makes for 'intense' scenes, kidnapping girls to teach them a lesson while their parents are worried sick for them. It's too much for everyone to run behind makers and tell them what they're doing wrong/right. At the best you can do, is to ask a popular website to write a post that criticises the event.

But if not, then the campaigning can be heeded or ignored.

The massive viewership a channel knows can suffice in itself for the success of its serials is mostly offline - the people who never bother to come online to talk of a serial, they just switch the channel if they dislike or are not interested. And that is a majority or mostly conservative sensibilities.

The poorest viewership for a main entertainment channel (Hindi serials) is in millions.
So even a million viewers may be considered poor viewership.

The channels which cater to youth-audience either manage on a very small budget, or close down with a loss.
The mass-viewership is usually able to make a series successful without any fandoms.
But fandoms have a series in the 3+ TRP only if the tracks and the pairing are mass-acceptable.

So basically, a channel listens to fans either if majority-audience is saying the same thing, or if the viewership is inadequate and likely to remain inadequate regardless of any change or lack of change.

If fans ask for something and majority-audience doesn't, either it won't happen, or the track and/or serial would have to close.

Also, if majority-audience is disinterested (i.e. not enough millions of people watching in India at primetime on TV), then also track or serial would close.

It's basically about how many millions of people we have who are watching the serial in India at primetime on TV.
Not enough millions is a worry. More millions is better.

And the total available viewership-base is massive enough that at least two serials - even three serials - can have 3+ TRP (and the BARC equivalent) simultaneously.
So a primetime serial is expected to get that much TRP, even if one or two other serials in that same timeslot are getting 3+ TRP.

Currently, BARC is the official rating, and TRP is used unofficially. But BARC is intended to be more considerate of the rural viewership as well.

Leela you are the best!!
