Covered from head to toe, the sleeves of his sweatshirt pulled up mid-palm and protected by the shades of an umbrella - accompanied by a heart-touching, bitter-sweet background score. That is how Karan, younger son of the Chauhan family, enters the show and immediately catches the interest of many viewers.

Karan is, unlike his older brother, an introvert of sorts. Not completelybecause there is a fire in him that gets sparked by certain people if the right buttons are pressed. Though, he prefers to spend his time in solitude, far away from attention and probably judging gazes.

Since his childhood, Karan has been suffering from a very low self-esteem. Ahuge reason for that is his brother, Kunal, who excelled in everything while Karan used to fail a lot. The constant comparisons and lack of proper support and his own series of failures left a remarkable dent in his self-esteem. Adding to that: a skin condition plagues him. Due to this, Karan has to take special precautions to protect his skin, making him stand out even more and increasing his insecurities.

Furthermore, Karan is highly averse to touches. He doesn't touch anyone nor does he allow anyone to touch him, not even his own mother. This only strengthens the protective walls he has built around himself, and physically increases the distance he tries to put between himself and others.

He seems to share a good bond with his mother and sister, who both adore him, whereas the relationship between him and his brother is very strained - they do love each other but Karan cannot express it and probably also nurses some bitterness for Kunal in his heart due to childhood experiences. But the love is evident - when Kunal didn't appear to the date he and Naina had prepared, his hurt spoke volumes. And when, after he (and Naina) had saved their siblings during the engagement celebrations, Kunal sincerely thanked him for the same, his surprise did not hide the hint of happiness reflected within him.

As for his father, their relationship is downright sour; Karan doesn't pay NK even the smallest bit of respect by acknowledging his presence whereas NK never tires to taunt his son and remind him of his short-comings. His dynamics with his family have yet to be properly seen, only glimpses were shown, till now. Same goes for his dynamics with other characters, especially Naina, his eventual love interest with whom he just started to interact.

We are eager to explore more of Karan's unique character as the show proceeds!

Samridh, born on the 22nd November, 1990 in Delhi, is a model and, especially, a talented actor. He had his first break-through in Get Gorgeous 6 and soon after, starred in The Body Project, Season 2, as Omi Dahiya. Other shows he has been part of are Kya Hua Tera Vada, Mere Rang Me Rangne Wali (as the lead Liladhar), and he was last seen in the youth show Swim Team. Currently he is owing the character of Karan Chauhan in the relatively new show Ek Shringaar: Swabhiman, and rapidly capturing hearts with his performance!

When younger, Samridh had dreamed of becoming an army officer or a doctor. But then, acting caught the attention of the initially shy boy, and the passion for the same drove him forward in life.

Samridh likes to keep himself in shape and thus, often goes to the gym. He is a foodie, and, unlike his on-screen persona, a real masti-khor! Despite the stark differences between Karan and Samridh, both are beyond loveable! We are eager to see more of Samridh morphing into Karan and to enjoy his stellar acting!
