I don't understand that if people are having problems with fiction, why are they watching this show?? It still says "all the characters here are fictional" before any episode airs... Yes Mahabharat is an Indian Epic but if any maker decides to make a serial as per depicted in original book, it will be quite boring.

Even in StarBharat some fictional things were added because it spices up the drama. In SK, they want to show Karna as a warrior who always thought right things except his unfortunate friendship with Duryodhan. And people do like Karna and this version of Mahabharat( which is even not correct).

So what's the big deal??? Why people are crying about makers showing wrong things. We all know Mahabharat, read it in our books and quite frankly if the same thing is shown in TV, no one will watch that. Hence, no point in criticizing the makers for adding things from their side...They feel Karna as a character has a superb potential to gain sympathy from audience and hence, made a show for them

I disagree with you totally. It is not any kind of novel to do whatever they want with it. It is our cultural treasure. Ved Vyas was our most respected sage Kavi after Adikavi Valmiki. And if the original is shown as it is it is boring? Not for me. I can never tolerate Sisupal just like that enter Draupadi's bedroom as if he is roaming in a guesthouse of sorts. And world knows I repeat how rightful Karna's thoughts are in many situations. So naturally it is a big deal for us people to see our own Epic changed to glorify one particular Charecter . May be India Forum Fans are enjoying the show but it still is lagging behind in viewership and current ratings on Television .

Thank you Shiprita for mentioning more such distortions that I am not aware of. I didn't watch it till the Swayamvar Episode . And then after Sisupal Epi I. Stopped watching again. O God Bhishm taking test of Karn? My good luck prevented me from watching such horrible stuff.

please read the purans and the epics to learn our mythology. tv shows are not the source of knowledge.

Rightly said. We would not mind if SIdT added a few instances that were not mentioned in the epic (like the names Vrushali and Supriya or Ururvi) although these were not mentioned in the epic nor in any of the common forklores, but since not everything is covered in the epic, we might accept it. Adding of a few fictitious characters (like Karna's foster tauji) is also tolerable but when you start butchering the real life characters just to justify one's wrong act then this is certainly not tolerable.

Shiprita is right. This SPK is not at all Mahabharat from any angle. BRC and StarMB atleast retained the soul of the Epic. Churning too many incidents around a Charecter that hardly occupied not even five percent page space in the epic is intolerable to say the least. Better than that they should have directly claimed to have made the serial from Mrityunjay Palace of Illusions etc. They did not spare even the Lord himself and spoiled his Charecter by making him desparately besotted with Karna in every scene.By doing so they are making mockery of Karna's Charecter . Who will believe Karna is a 'Mitra ' to Krishna? Ofcourse those who started claiming MBH itself is fake may believe SIDT.

di, even POI had some connection with the epic. I don't know about mrityunjaya so won't talk about it. If they followed at least the books, it would hv been digestable.They should just say the story is ours but copyright for the character names goes to Ved Vyas. tht's it.

You are right AnVi Despite the Karna Drau angle even that book to a great extent struck to the original . As for Mrityunjay it is the mother of all Karna related fictions. SidT should have claimed that he is making SPK inspired from all fiction stories on Karna. But I am sure the levels of creativity that SPK has reached no fiction writer can even dare to think of.
