@amrita - I have read Bhasa's plays. Andhe ka putra andha is not there in any. Urubhangam will make you love Dury at least till the time you complete reading. His talks with his little son is heart-wrenching... I think Andhe ka putra was the invention if BRC only.
BTW, I wanna see one Ka-Bri love triangle including either Dushy or Keechaka, much more like what Diala wrote.😉

@amrita, none of bhasa plays that i have read have that dialogue. God knows where it originated. Maybe some obscure folktale. Maybe BRC own invention. Whatever it is, the damage is done. All future generations of show makers are showing who is true Andha by blindly putting that dialogue into their scripts.

And the less said about the ff they are showing, the better

Andhe ka putra andha is not in the critical edition as well! Why are they blatantly whitewashing Karna?!😡
Thank God I stopped watching eons ago. Saurav Pandey is no SRJ. He lacks the "theraav" as Krishna Vasudev and is so obviously trying to ape SRJ's body language. 🥱

In wat language are Bhasa's poems written? I would really like to know...

I had read that Bhasa was a great fan of Duryodhan...n it was he who had added the flower showering scene from heaven during Duryodhan's death...not sure how true that story is.

Bhasa's plays are in Sanskrit but English translations are available. You can find them in amazon and flipkart. Amazon is cheaper in my experience

Critical Edition?
'Andha Ka Putra Andha' is not there in ANY edition...

To all copycats...admins of God-forsaken pages of Facebook...who stalk India Forums n copy paste stories in their pages as 'authentic folktales'...do us all a favour.
Copy paste n promote this fact too...'Andha Ka Putra Andha' is NOT there in ANY version...as long as my knowledge goes...
And this is one fact...on which even well-read Draupadi haters would also agree...

@amrita - Bhaasa lived around 500 BC or so. His plays are in Sanskrit. He was not a Dury fan. There are plays in which Dury looks more villainous than the original one. For example, in the play of Krishna coming with peace treaty, Dury welcomes him by a picture of Draupadi getting dragged in the open court, which is Bhasa's own idea. But in another play, he totally twists entire scene by making Dury return Ps their kingdom and thus giving Mahabharata a happy ending. Bhasa was just a different writer, not anyone's fan AFAIK. And he did not write that flower showering on Dury scene. It is there in the book AFAIR.
KMG, Shalya Parva, 61 - Sanjaya continued, Upon the conclusion of these words of the intelligent king of the Kurus, a thick shower of fragrant flowers fell from the sky. The Gandharvas played upon many charming musical instruments. The Apsaras in a chorus sang the glory of king Duryodhana. The Siddhas uttered loud sound to the effect, "Praise be to king Duryodhana!" Fragrant and delicious breezes mildly blew on every side. All the quarters became clear and the firmament looked blue as the lapis lazuli. Beholding these exceedingly wonderful things and this worship offered to Duryodhana, the Pandavas headed by Vasudeva became ashamed.

This happens right after Dury and Krishna argue over like who is better, Ks or Ps, and Pandavas with Krishna stood ashamed which I did not remember reading before!!!! Now reading this again has left me baffling.🤣
