Highly irritating and over acting. Sooner the better if they replace him with a better actor. This guy neither has the stature not acting ability to support such a pivotal character of Mahabharat. JMHO.

Shakuni actually was not a pivotal character in MB, contrary to what the various serials, starting from BRC depicted. So it's fine.

Although I thought the guy who plays Karna's tauji would have made a great Shakuni

Yup the tau guy makes perfect Shakuni in fact. And he does look so much like the Shakuni guy in the recent Mahabharat on Star Plus. Also, I feel Shakuni is a pivotal part in Mahabharat. The 4 enemies Duryodhan, Dussason, Shakuni and Karna are often quoted as the 'dustachatustayam' or something like that if I remember correctly.

Yeah, but last year, an analysis of Shakuni in the period b4 the game of dice revealed that he had actually suggested that Duryodhan be satisfied w/ just Hastinapur.

Even I feel Shakuni has an important place in MB. Even I read the part that Shakuni had advised Dury to be satisfied with Hastinapur. But he already had a big hand in influencing Dury and his other nephews against their cousins that later all those poison turned into vindication. Not only that Bheeshma knew that Shakuni's presence and schemings in Hastinapur is causing hostility among the two sets of cousins and brainwashing Dhritarashtra but still could not remove the Gandhar King's presence from there.

Although Shakuni was on the other side of Dharma, he was witty and a good strategist 😊 I will not comment anything about his administrative skills since I have not read anything about it.

Now coming to the actor... the first glimpse I saw of Sony Shakuni I felt like I saw a wizard acting in Arabian tales...his make up and expression did made it so. Moreover he is too skinny... I dont know I always imagined Shakuni to be pot-bellied 😆. Maybe he is a slim now that he is young but the actor looks bonny to me 🤢... and what was that jig with his red shawl 😕 and his laughter...dont ask me... I felt a odd. Maybe with few other episodes, he may improve. Actually I am still awed with the excellent performance of Praneet as ⭐️Shakuni that Sony Shakuni seem to be so dull

Even I agree that Uchayasena i.e. Karn's Tauji is a better contender for Shakuni's role. The actor has that mischieveous glint in his eyes that makes out his character more realistic and likeable 😊

Actually, Uchyasena has the appearance of a Dronacharya but the mannerisms of a Shakuni 😆 It will be funny if he fights in the war under Karna's akshauni
