I wish they would mix up the Indians and Pakistanis together and then create teams from both...that way there is no question of bias and fighting...I dont think either Atif or Himesh or Ashaji or Abidaji have any interest in fighting...but they are being encouraged by the producer to create nautanki for the masses...its a pathetic attempt to create a circus like atmosphere exploiting the Indo-Pak rivalry in a cynical manner to make money...and I feel bad for the participants who are forced to do these things, when all they want to do is sing and make a name for themselves...I wish Colors would fire Gajendra SIngh and bring in someone else who can fix this show...otherwise, the participants are so good on both the teams...its a shame that they are essentially participating in a proxy for communal riots via using music as their weapon...its appalling and an outright shame...

Well all I can say is, for the sake of trps they are exploiting everything!
Everyone appreciates healthy competition. But the way Sur kshetra is going on, I don't think it is singing based reality show! It's like everyone is in this show just to defeat the other one! They are more interested in defeating them rather than winning it!!

I agree they cannot use music as a weapon. Music is thought to be a spiritual thing connecting hearts across the borders! Not the one making that wall too strong that no one can cross it ! I too want Sur Kshetra to change it concept and do what Choote ustaad did!

That crying thing was a shocker!! I was suprised n didnt understand or awhile why Abida ji crying also coz couldnt figureout what went so wrong but knowing reason shez crying or her songs was v weird!! I felt Atif just instigated her too!!! But what kinda judge or grownup would think that way, she should b encouraging the contestants they did good but can do better by giving pointers!!! Worse is after all that fiaso of raging atif speech n abida ji broke down, next when its time to give points both Runa ji & Asha ji gave 10 & 10 n said they liked performance.. Lol atif was fuming seeing that haha!!! Actually manytimes sara n indrani attempted asha ji n lata ji sings but she just enourage them n give marks for avg performnce too naa, just an example!! Isme religion wali baat yaa disrespect wali bast kaha hai muhje nahi samajme aaya!! Infact its a compliment, she should have appreciated it even more han if pki would have sung it! Poor buddha he got scared n was clueless what he did wrong that made Abida ji cry like tht but seeing other judges marks he might have understood l8r! Yeah he said sorry for no fault!

Agree at above comments^^

Its ridiculous to scream 'Vande mataram' 'Pakistan jindabad' contestants need to chill n not make this another reason to add to bitterness!! Dont bring country prides in show but rather concentrate on ur Sur! Its not good for u nor for country for future, please! Its good to have patriotism n beliefs but dont over do it!! This shw format itself is so messedup that cant believe some1 can comeup with such ridiculous ideas to cash on, aka at gajendra singh!

So much stupidity in rules, format n themes too, as if taken India for granted type!

@saatschi and @alina,

I agree that there is too much jingoism on the show with people shouting 'Vande Mataram' and 'Pakistan Zindabad'...it looks absolutely foolish...its not the fault of the participants but the producer Gajendra Singh, whose brain came up with such a ridiculous format...he is the one who pushes Atif and Himesh to fight, hoping to raise TRPs that way...

As for the competition itself, any competition works if there is a level playing field...select any genre and ask everyone to perform on that and mark them fairly...uske baad, doodh ka doodh aur paani ka paani ho jayega...but mixing genres and evaluating people together on different genres is ludicrous...and defeats the purpose of a healthy competition...for instance if there was a western genre, Indrani and Aman would score bulls eye, while Amir and Nabil will score bulls eye on Sufiyana music...par yeh kya tareeka hai, where one person is singing "Saanwre" from Bandit Queen and the other person is singing a breezy Rafi number...let them all sing Nusrat Saab or Rafi saab and then evaluate accordingly...

Shouting Vande Mataram...

Absolutely...wanted to cringe watching yashraj kapil go "even if I die, or anything, I will
Take the trophy for my country"...and he wasn't acting, he actually thought he is
On a hilltop in kargil or something, and India's sovereignty at stake. Talk about a drama
Queen!

@amitm2012: Word. Well said. They are all great contestants and they should have mixed them together. Hope the channel learns from its mistakes and rectifies this the next time.
I, for one, really like the concept of having singers from both countries learning with and from each other and growing into wonderful singers who can tough people's hearts with their voices, irrespective of country.
