@Alina, thanks so much. It feels so nice to read a comment like yours. Absolutely, it really does not matter who wins. For me, they all are winners, they have taken up this challenge and are really doing a wonderful job. Both our countries will be winners, no matter who wins. I feel equal delight when Nabeel sings as when Yashraj sings. The contestants practice so much and sing before our both countries, it is so sad if we discount all their efforts by just focusing on the negatives. I wish all the contestants every success. And a great day to you:))

Hey Saatschi(sorry dont know your name) well you won't believe I'm here since this show started, and I hardly see such posts! Everyone is just focusing on the negative stuff ! I wish people could see another side of the coin too ! And I agree with every word that you wrote/said. And you know what I always believe that music/movies/shows can only bring these two nations together ! And there is this delicate string attached between us that I really hope stays intact for forever !

Hey Alina, my name is Sasha:-) I was so happy to see this concept and a little worried about how fair it would be, given the rivalry:) Initially I wished Ghulam Ali ji would also be on the bench and maybe Sonu ji as well. The thing with having Asha ji and Abida ji on the bench is that if they voice an objection, it is really difficult to attack them or defend against them. And if someone does, it all goes wrong. So, maybe this 5 bench judge team will be better.

I was really happy to see Atif as the captain of Team Pakistan because I really like his songs since his Jal days. In fact, I was worried about him because I know how Himesh can get in such shows having experienced it before.
Now I know why Atif was selected. I suppose it is difficult for him too, he sings in Bollywood and he has to also look out for his team and his country. And the shows format makes the whole thing a little aggressive. I am sure both Himesh and Atif laugh about all this behind the screen and here we are all getting so angry and fighting tooth and nail about it. It is all engineered, sadly.

I hope in the end the contestants come up with a combined album, to be released both in india and Pakistan. I totally agree that our love of movies, shows and music should always bring us closer and strengthen the delicate bonds that thankfully still tug at our hearts. For myself, I enjoy watching both Indian and Pakistani dramas and listening to singers from both countries. Here's to continuing friendship:-)))

@saatschi and @alina,

I agree that there is too much jingoism on the show with people shouting 'Vande Mataram' and 'Pakistan Zindabad'...it looks absolutely foolish...its not the fault of the participants but the producer Gajendra Singh, whose brain came up with such a ridiculous format...he is the one who pushes Atif and Himesh to fight, hoping to raise TRPs that way...

As for the competition itself, any competition works if there is a level playing field...select any genre and ask everyone to perform on that and mark them fairly...uske baad, doodh ka doodh aur paani ka paani ho jayega...but mixing genres and evaluating people together on different genres is ludicrous...and defeats the purpose of a healthy competition...for instance if there was a western genre, Indrani and Aman would score bulls eye, while Amir and Nabil will score bulls eye on Sufiyana music...par yeh kya tareeka hai, where one person is singing "Saanwre" from Bandit Queen and the other person is singing a breezy Rafi number...let them all sing Nusrat Saab or Rafi saab and then evaluate accordingly...

Well Sasha I too don't know what's wrong with Atif! I heard he is really a nice man. I don't know why he is behaving that way, or maybe it is because of the way things are turning out on this show! Wow you seems to be Atif's big fan as mostly people are unaware of his jal band!

And yes I too wish our friendship lasts for forever!

I get your point! But we can't do anything! As you know gajendra himself is not bothered about it! Like you mentioned that he is so much after trps so obviously for him it doesn't matter who is singing what, he is getting his trps !

But being a viewer we all have our rights to comment about it, and i appreciate yours!

I seriously wish this show turn out to be good for both the nations!

Hey Alina, one of my friends had sung a Jal song for his cousin's sangeet and I think everyone at the sangeet became a fan of the band on that evening (and subsequently of Atif as well):)

Let's give both Atif and Himesh the benefit of doubt. Himesh can also be quite obnoxious, he has toned down for this show, my opinion. This is Atif's first show of this kind. With time, he will also learn how to handle this sort of thing. what I think is that Atif is walking quite a tight rope here. This time he has to look out for his team. If he feels there is injustice, he has to speak out against it. The problem is that on the other side it is Asha ji who has years of experience, and is loved by us very much. So, getting into an argument with her makes him look bratty, rude, abrasive and too big for his boots. See if he just keeps quiet and does not go on the attack and his team members lose, then he might get taken to task for not defending his team. There is more here than meets the eye. Of course, I feel bad for Asha ji when he is rude to her and I wish he would not be. He probably apologized to her later, is what I think. Positive thinking:))

Just as I also find Atif abrasive at times, I also do not like it when Himesh refuses to comment on a contestant's performance and says "let the jury comment". I wish they would both relax and appreciate each other's contestants but it seems like they are expected to react. The good thing is that with Himesh and Atif, "Dono bhi kisi se kam nahi. Ek ser hai to doosra sava ser. Equally matched for this purpose.

@amitm2012: I agree with your point about Gaj babu. And I also agree about the level playing field. They are all wonderful singers and I think they would rise to the challenge and give it their best shots. We have such a variant range of singers in this lot and each of them brings something unique to the table. It would be win-win, we, the viewers could enjoy more variety and they as singers could challenge themselves in areas they haven't sung before, they would grow as singers with the experience. Well, maybe they will tweak the format in the future.

I agree! See Atif is the only one who can reply to Asha Ji ! If Abida Ji would have been replying in place of Atif, obviously that doesn't go with her image as she is known as a very decent and a Nobel lady! My dad is her big fan and he always make it to go in her shows and all so yeah I know how as a person she is !

About Asha Ji, well she is right at her place too ! Like Atif, and Abida Ji, she is also defending her team members ! I don't see her doing anything wrong ! But in such circumstances both can't be right or wrong! And it's just the way how Pakistani sees Asha Ji and himesh and how Indians see Atif and Abida Ji ! Basically the format is not right !

Hi Saatschi,

I wish they would mix up the Indians and Pakistanis together and then create teams from both...that way there is no question of bias and fighting...I dont think either Atif or Himesh or Ashaji or Abidaji have any interest in fighting...but they are being encouraged by the producer to create nautanki for the masses...its a pathetic attempt to create a circus like atmosphere exploiting the Indo-Pak rivalry in a cynical manner to make money...and I feel bad for the participants who are forced to do these things, when all they want to do is sing and make a name for themselves...I wish Colors would fire Gajendra SIngh and bring in someone else who can fix this show...otherwise, the participants are so good on both the teams...its a shame that they are essentially participating in a proxy for communal riots via using music as their weapon...its appalling and an outright shame...
