Firstly, SO SORRY for making everyone wait.
Secondly, I couldn't concentrate on this chapter. There were other stuff on my mind, which divided my attention so couldn't get the thoughts together, but I ended up adding more details on their journey to Goa. I hope it's still enjoyable to read...
Lastly, I'll definitely do the next chapter in 2-3 days! I didn't want to continue in this chapter because it felt really long.
I can't thank you enough for waiting so patiently! 🤗
CHAPTER 5
Krishna rushed out with her head down in embarrassment. She bumped into Kaira on the way. Krishna was confused as to why she was in the outhouse. Kaira walked past her and was about to enter Saiyyam's room but she realised what was happening and rushed to stop Kaira from entering Saiyyam's room.
Kaira! Stop. Krishna didn't know whether Saiyyam was properly dressed or not. How dare she enter his room like that. Kaira was confused. What? Krishna pulled her away from the door. Where do you think you're going? She questioned Kaira. I'm just seeing if Saiyyam is ready or not. By the way, why are you stopping me? What are you doing here anyway?
Stop pretending that you don't know.. Krishna's voice trailed off unable to disclose their relationship.
Whatever, move now. Kaira pushed Krishna but Krishna stood firmly with her back leaning against the door, refusing to let Kaira enter the room.
Seriously Krishna, I don't know what your problem is.
Krishna could share everything with anyone but she would not share Saiyyam with anyone. She was still blushing from what happened earlier. Only her eyes are allowed to see him like that. She won't let any random girl eye on her husband. Krishna had become so possessive in the past month since their separation. She was doing things that she would not normally do. She's speaking up and picking arguments because of jealous, but she was not aware why it mattered so much to her.
Saiyyam finally opened the door from inside, not knowing that Krishna was leaning against it, he opened with a force that landed Krishna falling backwards but safely into his arms. It was almost a hug from the back, his arms were wrapped around her stomach, and it tickled her. She gasped and closed her eyes. It didn't last for more than few seconds but she felt something magical everytime he touched her.
A day is incomplete if you don't fall at least once. Saiyyam shook his head in disbelief.
Why does it matter to you? Why do you keep saving me then. Krishna questioned him back.
It's become your habit now Krishna, or wait, you do this purposely because you just need an excuse to come closer to me, right? He came so close to her face, she could feel his breath.
Kaira stood there observing them. They had almost forgotten she was there.
Saiyyam, let it be. We should get going. Kaira finally broke their eyelock.
Saiyyam walked off leaving the two girls standing there. Krishna gave her a stunned glare and Kaira shook her head. C'mon. Are you coming with me and Saiyyam? I thought Yuvaan was going to pick you up.
He doesn't need to pick me up, that's the Birla house and I live there. Krishna pointed out to Kaira who was unaware of the fact that Krishna was also part of Birla?!
Krishna walked off leaving Kaira confused. Ok, so is there something between Yuvaan and Krishna? Or Saiyyam and Krishna. Ugh, Birla family will confuse the heck out of me. Strange people.
Saiyyam was waiting by his car for the girls to come out. He didn't want Krishna to go with Yuvaan, Goa is a long ride in the car and there is no way I'm letting her stay with Yuvaan. I have to do something, but what?
Why do we need two cars? We can all fit into one car? Kaira asked.
Yes, but Yuvaan likes to drive his own car and anyway we are not going to share everything. He looked at Krishna, indirectly hinting that he won't share Krishna.
So is Yuvaan going alone? Kaira still didn't get what was the big deal.
Yuvaan is going to come with the clients, it's better to keep them entertained.
Well, Krishna could have gone? Since they really liked Krishna.. Kaira kept asking more to find out what was going on.
No way. How can I let her go alone with the clients. Saiyyam was irritated at Kaira's questions.
Krishna was struggling to lift her suitcase. Ofo, what has Yuvaani packed. It's like a month's worth of clothes.
Saiyyam watched her coming down the stairs from Birla gate. He walked over to her calm and composed like always, he didn't show much expressions but he was there to help her carry the bags.
Krishna wasn't surprised at all, she knew he was always caring, she admired him for a while before she spoke - No it's ok, I can -
He didn't let her finish. When will you learn to ask for help, Krishna? He scolded her
You're the one who says I should be independent and now you're saying this? She walked along with him as she carried her bag.
There's a limit to everything! Stop being so "mahaan" He responded furiously.
Well, I will have to learn na, because you decided to leave me so I'm all alone.. She paused and looked at him.
A friend can always help you. He said hoping that she would understand he is always there if she in trouble.
Haan, ya.. I was looking for Yuvaan.. but he's not here.. She knew Saiyyam was talking about himself and not about Yuvaan but she played along with him.
Saiyyam's expressions changed. So Yuvaan comes first for her. Always Yuvaan, Yuvaan. Then why am I helping her.
He put her bag in the trunk and told the Kaira and Krishna to hurry up and sit.
Krishna walked to the passenger side but Kiara was already opening the door to sit in the front seat.
I'm sitting in the front. Kaira told Krishna to back off.
Krishna rolled her eyes, she didn't want to argue so she quietly sat in the backseat. Saiyyam adjusted his front mirror to look at Krishna. She could see him starring at her so she looked away. How can he let HER sit in the front. It was my place. He really doesn't care.
Krishna had brought her novel to read because she knew she wasn't going to get any attention from him anyway. Kaira turned on the radio and sang along with almost every song. She seemed to be enjoying herself in the front seat, taking selfies with Saiyyam every 2 seconds. Why won't she let him drive in peace!! And can she just stop singing! Krishna was getting irritated now. How comes he wasn't scolding her. He was even singing along with her. Wow. Last time I did something like that, he almost threw me out of the car.
Krishna, now it's your turn. I hope you're not getting bored in the back seat. Kaira turned around to talk to Krishna. No, I don't like singing. Krishna said it simply. C'mon this is just for fun. You're so boring Krishna! Let her read, if she starts singing, she will break the car windows with her terrible voice. Saiyyam said sarcastically, provoking Krishna to accept it as a challenge. Kaira laughed and tuned back to change the song.
Krishna started to sing -
dil kyaa kare jab kisi se, kisi ko pyaar ho jaaye
jaane kahaa kab kisi ko, kisi se pyaar ho jaaye
unchee unchee diwaaron se, is duniyaan ki rasme
hoo...
Na kuch tere bas mein jaana..
Na kuch mere bas mein..
Wada karo tum nahi choodonge mera saath..
Jahan tum ho, wahan mein bhi hoon..
Krishna looked out the window and continued to sing. There was silence in the car. Kaira was amazed at her, somehow she could see through her, there was pain in her eyes. Saiyyam continued to look at her through the mirror. He couldn't take his eyes off her. It made him feel sad that he was the reason for her sadness but he felt helpless.
Okok - This is so sentimental. I said a fun song! Uff, Krishna ...who is this song for by the way? She raised her eyebrows asking her teasingly.
That person knows and is pretending to not know. But You don't need to know. She replied.
Krishna, your words confuse me so much! Nevermind, I'm hungry now.
Krishna offered the snacks she brought with her. Kaira offered to Saiyyam but since he was driving, she fed him with her hands. Krishna was really annoyed now. I gave the snack to you, not for him. She said out loud.
Krishna, chill. He must be hungry too. He's been driving for so long. Krishna didn't like how she was so concerned for him. But you don't need to feed him. We can stop for a while and he can eat for himself. Saiyyam understood why Krishna was behaving so strangely the entire car journey. He was quite amused at her antics. Oh Krishna, why are you doing all this. Behaving like a typical wife. Stop this please. I want you to move on, sometimes I wonder how is it that you are falling in love again? Why do you choose to walk down a path full of thorns? As pretty as a rose may be, it's roots still have thorns. You are foolish to choose me.
Krishna was too tired to argue anymore, she fell asleep while holding her book. It was quiet in the car now, Kaira was feeling tired too. Saiyyam wasn't interacting as much now, he just drove in silence. It was nightime, they had finally reached. Kaira went to take out her bag from the trunk, while Krishna was still sleeping peacefully. A smile appeared on Saiyyam's face as he watched her sleep so innocently, like a baby. He admired her from the car window, she was angelic, her hair flowed in the cool breeze. He could watch her all night. She tossed around trying to find a comfortable position. Saiyyam thought to wake her up but he didn't want to disturb her sleep.
Kaira stood there watching Saiyyam. There's something different about the way he looks at her. He is so different around her. He seems to forget everything in the surrounding as if he's lost inside her world. Kaira left him standing there and went to meet Yuvaan who was already inside the villa.
Saiyyam opened the door for Krishna. He called her name few times but she didn't move. He couldn't just leave her sleeping in the car. Ohgod, how do I wake her up? Why is this so difficult? I've lost my sleep because of her but look at her - she has no care in the world. Why does she trust me so much with her life. I try not show my softside but she always finds that place. But what should I do now?
After debating for so long, he decided to carry her in his arms. He pulled her out of the car carefully, she groaned but she didn't open her eyes. He lifted her and she automatically placed her head on one side of his shoulder. Stupid girl. He spoke out. What else will you make me do? All this just so that you can sleep in peace. She rubbed her eyes and looking into his eyes. She didn't know what was happening. But she could hear Saiyyam talk to her. Saiyyam..? Krishna mumbled quietly. Just shush. Sleep. Krishna obeyed and held onto him tighter than before. She smiled being so close to him. Saiyyam looked around and found that there were only three bedrooms. What, does this mean Krishna and I have to sleep in the same room!? She is definitely not going anywhere near Yuvaan. It was getting difficult to keep her in his arms. Krishna, stop moving. You're so heavy. Haww Saiyyam, You are just weak. She replied half asleep.
He was about to enter his room but Kaira called him. Saiyyam! I'm sleeping in that other room. Krishna can share with me. Oh yes. Why didn't I think about this? I guess, this girl is making me crazy day by day.
Ok, sure. He walked over to Kaira's room and carefully laid her into the bed. He turned to leave but felt her hand grip onto his. He stepped a little closer and tried to free his hand without waking her up. He managed to tuck her hand inside the blanket so she wouldn't hold onto him again. He walked out without looking back at her.
Saiyyam went into his room. He wasn't sleepy but he was tired. He paced around the room restlessly. It was hot in the room, he went to open the window. He stared out into the dark night, listening to the water waves splash. He put his head on the pillow and without letting his mind wonder to Krishna's thoughts, he immediately closed his eyes and fell asleep.
It was early morning, Krishna woke up and saw Kaira was still sound asleep. She didn't know what the plan was for today. She wanted to check if Saiyyam was awake but thought it would be weird if someone catches her. She decided to get ready and make some breakfast. She opened her suitcase and to her surprise, it wasn't anything like she packed. What is all this? She picked out some western dresses and just lots of night wears. She knew this was done by Yuvaani. I'm going to kill you Yuvaani. What am I supposed to wear!? She looked upset. She could ask Kaira to borrow some, but Kaira's dressing was even worse than what was packed by Yuvaani. Way too much exposure. Great. Now I will just be stuck in this room the entire week.
Krishna picked out a flowery maxi dress, the one that will at least cover all of her leg skin. She got ready and was worried about Saiyyam's reaction. Should I tell Saiyyam? I don't know, where am I going to find something decent to wear here. No, I won't tell him. Pretend it's all good. I can wear these..it's just a matter of few days..but I don't like that everyone will be watching me awkwardly. This is not me.
She was fighting with her mind thoughts while making tea for everyone. There wasn't anything else in the house to eat. She was cutting some fruits and Saiyyam walked out of his room. His eyes followed Krishna's figure. Why is she wearing this? What is going on in her mind, I just don't get it.
He walked up to her, leaning against the kitchen countertop. She lowered her eyes but she could feel him gazing at her intensely. Krishna, since when did you start wearing such clothes?
This is not mine, Yuvaani..packed it.
Oh yeah, stop giving excuses.
What. You knonw I don't like these types.
Yes, it doesn't even suit you. He said bluntly.
Krishna was surprised to hear that. She didn't know what else to say
There's a party tonight, I hope you have something more decent to wear.. He picked up the cup of tea and started to leave.
Noo, other dresses are too short.. I need to get new ones. Will you take me to the store? She looked hopeful.
That;s your problem, I'm not taking you anywhere. He left her standing alone in the kitchen.
Precap: Shopping and beach party.
