His thinking back then was really different and being arrogant his thinking would have not changed.

I didn't like it that he was forced but it was needed because if she, alone, wasn't in front of him, he would have never noticed her, which is sad. I It was after tf it was Soumya and Suhani in front of him, his attention would have been on Soumya and he would have never seen Suhani innocence. Even if a parade went in front of him, he was so arrogant that he would have just gotten upset that the parade is coming in his way.he marriage his mentality of what is good and what is bad changed. Like Suhani said, if I was pretty but mean would that make me a great Bahu, would everyone like me. This is what really made the wheels in his head turn, Soumya being pretty - cheated him. Suhani being not so appealing - took all his and DaRaMen rage with a smile. If they weren't forced to get married, his thinking probably wouldn't have changed because Soumya would have been the apple of his eyes and if she left he would have left to in search of a new life.

Actually ada, that's a great explanation. You're right that Yuvi didn't have the empathy or broadmindedness needed to vanquish his prejudices which were kind of set in stone. He was a real jackass before, wasn't he? 😡 Yes, he actually was the kind of guy who saw no value in people who weren't beautiful; doubt he even thought of Suhani as being a human.

@bold- Aptly put! 👏 As you said, his arrogance would have made him reject anything good Suhani had to offer. Kind of sad, but at least those walls are coming down now.

For the story line I think it was needed this show is all about beauty vs heart. Bt coming specifically to yuvraj he did not see suhani at all in the beginning and he needed to see to her alone, to judge her and see what she really was about. I am not saying that if souyma was still positive that she would outshine suhani bt coz he fell for her suhani had no chance and that is the way it should be if some1 is in love. But souyma didn't love him and more so I think even if suhani and him had met afterward their engagement was cancelled and he eventually fell for her it would have been kind of boring not that yuvani would ever be boring bt I kind of like hw their story is going I just hate snaky. Quite frankly the only thing that was forced was the marriage everything after that hasn't not been forced watching them was like watching 2 strangers getting to know each another and getting comfortable. He didn't need to be nice to her, he didn't have to get close to her, he could have continued his plan to ruin her after the marriage which he forgot after 2 days lol. Bt he not only went closer to her his every decision became about her. Yes he didn't want her in his life, he didn't want her on his bed, touching his clothes or messing with his credit card bt somehow his life still revolved around her. She messed up his organized life and will always continue to do that. Bt most importantly battles that she could have managed on her own in the beginning he stood by her like a rock and protected her and he didn't have to it wasn't as if pankaj was around 24/7. And even though he went mad once in a while there has always been something about suhani that just made him stop and listen to her words and be surprised at the way she saw things, the way she reacted to situations, her intelligence, kindness, her capability to forgive(which really has changed him), her ability to just captivate an audience makes him very proud to be by her side coz she wins ppl over. But as yanks said there is no balance in their r/ship at the moment suhani brings the warmth, emotion and love. She goes all out for him she adores him to bits. And the amazing thing about her feelings and the way she is to him is that he actually loves her behavior I think she makes him feel very special. Bt at the same time he is kind of used to girls showing their adoration to him coz he is hot and so he is a very cool cucumber when she behaves with him like that most times. Bt this needs to change he needs to realize that he is in fact not the dream guy that suhani would have probably wanted bt she somehow fell for him and so accepted him with his flaws. Suhani's dream guy is some1 like her simplicity, fun, open, crazy, romantic, kind and most of these things dnt really go with yuvraj most times. And so we need to see her have the perfect guy who she truly dreamt about and who will go all out for her bt still at the end she still chooses yuvi. I would so love a hot perfect guy being brought to the show for suhani some1 totally into her it could like salman character Aman in kuch kuch hota hai. Bt the only problem with that is that we might have a problem where fans might actually like the new guy more coz rajshri has amazing chemistry with every1 so most like if she is paired opposite some1 new it would be the same. So maybe they can make the future guy obsessed with suhani and yuvraj protects her bt not rishi that guy is just creepy

He didn't value people for their kindness, ability to listen and love etc but rather for what they looked like, what brands they wore, status etc. I think he had stopped seeing average-looking people as even human beings. Pratima was right to be worried because like they say, looks may fade but a kind heart remains forever. Yuvraj would have been condemned to the same unfulfilled and shallow married life where both of them would get disillusioned with each others' looks and fall out of 'love'.

@bold- You hit gold with this part. The truth is that Suhani was never enamoured by Yuvraj Birla but rather started falling for Yuvraj the person based on his unintentional but kind behaviour towards her. Like ada mentioned, it was due to Sharad's prodding that Yuvraj was nice to Suhani and Suhani liked this Yuvraj not Dadi's Yuvraj. Of course, people like Soumya fanned Suhani's affections by convincing her that Yuvraj's love for her drives his concern for her and that is what Suhani believes to this day. In her words, she thinks he is 'sadoo' but really loves her. 😭 That also brings us to the point that even Suhani doesn't know Yuvraj fully. She doesn't know how arrogant and superficial he was. She is operating on half knowledge of him. Actually, a character like Salman would really wake Yuvraj from his deep sleep.

I think the forced marriage could have been avoided if yuvraaj's ego had been exaggerated. If he had found out about soumya's wedding he would have taken the pheras with suhani in a fit of anger (after firmly telling fil to buzz off who would be sad and depressed the wedding has been called off and will be shocked to find his daughter getting married).

The whole dynamic would have been very different then and yuvraaj would have taken longer to melt. The whole make soumya jealous thing would have been exaggerated and prolonged because the basic idea of the wedding would have been to win against soumya.

Yeah, absolutely. He knew about Soumya's plot for a long time before the marriage so he could very well have broken it off earlier rather than wait for the 11th hour as Parm suggested.

You are right that we would have had to tolerate Iceberg Yuvraj for the next 7 years along with those 7 pheras. 😆

For the storyline the marriage becomes necessary because there wasn't much probability that Yuvraj would see Suhani as he is beginning to now if it weren't for the daily interactions, which is difficult to bring about in other circumstances.
While I agree in some aspects with Clarity, Ada, Yanks, Elita, I'm in no hurry for Yuvraj to go mushy over Suhani. They make a nice couple and have some chemistry, and it should be a slow build--just my opinion. Can get very boring once love has been expressed and sexual tension removed (not that they seem to feel much...) .

Well, I think the CVs just gave undue power to Pankaj for the sake of the storyline. Are we supposed to believe that THE Birlas, mightiest of the mighty couldn't bypass an average manager like Pankaj and get the loan passed? Corruption, hello?! 😕😆 Big business don't become big unless they steamroll some small people on the way, in India. I guess the CVs wanted to show how law abiding the Birlas are, lol.

Yes, the buildup is important. Half the fun of receiving a gift is in unwrapping it. 😉

Had they not been forced to be married then he would not have had any reason to interact with Suhani at all as Souyma tied the knot with Krishna before their marriage (actually I think just before the engagement). Because of this I think it was necessary for the storyline. Had the marriage not taken place, there would have been no reason for their paths to cross again, thereby not allowing for them to fall in love prior to marriage.

Having said all that, I think it would have been great if they had been able to fall in love 1st, without any lying, blackmailing or deceit...

Oh yeah, forgot that time when both Yuvraj and Sharad were out for Suhani's blood. At least Sharad had the good sense to change his opinion once he got to know Suhani. Not so much for Yuvraj.

@bold- Yeah, I guess it was dramatic license. Like a lot of people have already mentioned, Yuvraj was arrogant enough to denigrate girls at that beauty pageant, so his 'good heart' probably wouldn't have been able to value Suhani in a neutral setting.

The story was not progressing at all before marriage. I think once the relationships between Sowmya and Krishna, Yuvraj and Sowmya was established, the CVs did not know how to proceed further.

Making Yuvraj fall for Suhani instead with constant interactions would have been best but even with constant interactions, Yuvraj seemed to completely ignore Suhani when Sowmya was around and the CVs decided to break this streak by getting Yuvraj and Suhani married instead😉

What I did not like was the reason given. We were never shown Sowmya's love story, so it was hard to understand why she fell for Krishna, just like Yuvraj..
And the worst part was Suhani's father. This guy was shown so sensible and level headed, more like Suhani's anchor and then they go and show him do a blackmail when it was so short sighted🥱

Instead I would have preferred Yuvraj himself getting into the marriage with Suhani, without love.. Perhaps the jealous angle they worked out with Sowmya after marriage could have been done before. It would have been great to see Yuvraj grovel for forgiveness then😳 Now, the sod has good reasons to give and it kinda takes the cherry atop the cake😕😆

BtW, I realize that I should have opted for No, he should not have got married like this.. 😉

@bold- That's a very good point actually. He was just too blinded and bound by Soumya's beauty to recognise anything else. For him, all glitters WAS gold, so he wasn't bothered to really look at other people and recognise their beauty. It really saddens me that Yuvraj would have let go of a once in a lifetime love like Suhani for something as superficial as outer beauty. If that were so important, we wouldn't see Saurabh cheating on Ragini, and I think that's the point the CVs are trying to illustrate. According to a person like Dadi, Ragini is the perfect mate for Saurabh, but he is unable to satisfy himself with just Ragini's beauty and craves emotional reassurance.

Yes,agreed. The show's promos always had the three of them in it and Soumya was depicted neutrally, just like Suhani and Yuvi. Perhaps they lost the plot with the loss in TRPs. That's frustrating. I think TV makers do try new stuff, but TV audiences seem to be really set on what they wanna see; Sony had also tried it with shows like Mahi Way etc, but nobody seems interested.

I, for one, would have watched SSEL with that direction too.
