Mods are also very trigger happy randomly editing posts saying it violates IF COC- what part of coc does a post violate? Ex character A can be called abusive cause that don't violate COC apparently,
For the clearly uninitiated, Chapri IS a bad word.
It is a casteist slur and has casteist origin. It comes from the word 'chappar'/chaparbhand community, caste of roof masons, menders, thatchers and weavers. Chappar has its roots in kaccha huts/houses. It's just not some tiktok/Gen-Z slang. And if we talk about it in the later terms, it is highly classist. A derogatory term that started being used for people from the lower strata of society, especially in Maharashtra it was used for people who lived in slums.
Therefore the origin and the present use of the word 'Chapri' has both classist and casteist connotations.
It's 2023, nobody should be allowed to use casteist/classist slurs on India forums of all places. Good on mods if they stopped the usage of that word regardless of how many people use it in sheer ignorance everyday without having any knowledge or clue about the proper etymology of it.
