Writers block is when a writer goes through a phase of losing the creative thinking, excitement, motivation to write.
For example, suppose you've started a story, suddenly halfway through writing - you doubt yourself and become uncomfortable with how story is going - you cannot write further, you try to think of new ideas but none of them seem right which leads to you avoiding typing/writing etc... This can lead to then avoiding the idea/story and just shoving it away.
It's like there's a mental block when you want to pen something down, however something invisible in your mind is stopping you from penning it down.
There are ways of getting rid of a writers block:
Usually taking a break from writing to get inspired, reading, watching movies, spending quality time with friends and family etc...
Another idea is to discuss the story with someone, could be another reader/friend who'd be able to give ideas and you may be motivated to type following your discussion.
Reading and discussing usually helps me, if it doesn't then taking a break...
