what does it mean by forum getting archived??

one of the forum I used to visit got archived recently..(show had ended more than 6 months ago)

I just want to know what difference it makes when forum is shifted to archived from the popular shows...

can we still open new topics and discuss ?

does it mean forum can get locked anytime soon??

plz answer my queries...

When a show ends the forum is archived. that is its not in the active show index of IF

it need not be closed for sometime as people still want to talk of it

like IPKND forum is archived but not closed same with PV and hitler didi forums

but if the forum activity goes down below a certain level it is closed

The show gets archived once the show goes off air.After getting achieved the show will no longer be in the ranking .Some shows get closed along with archiving,in these forums you cannot post .You will see a lock symbol near the montage of the forum . All other shows you can post topics and discussions.
