I've heard a lot of people are also questioning buzz and to be fair I think most fan groups do question it when other celebrities get it and make fun of other fan bases when their favorite ranks top because of buzz...some fan bases make fun of others when their favorite doesn't rank on top even when they do get buzz.
The thing though is that buzz is generally related to a working actor and their work...it's about current news associated with that celebrity. It makes far more sense for buzz points to be included in celebrity ranking than chat clubs or posts that have nothing to do with that celebrity.
If fan activity points are given on the basis of fans insulting celebrities or idle chit chat in chat clubs then it seriously reflects badly on the image of IF as a professional entity.

Buzz points are more indicative of a celebrity's working status and ranking than fan points created in Chat clubs.

Buzz points should be done away with it. because its not fair.. only select few actors/actresses get buzz all the time..why i don't see buzz for any actors from DABH, pyar ka dard, SSN, YRKKH, JA, QH.

Its always the same set of actors who get the buzz all the time..its totally unfair

Thanks for this post. Much needed after all the fussing going on about view points.

I will not repeat the queries made here, all are valid & deserve an explanation from IF, a reputable entertainment portal.

I really believe that the fan group that is most active in collectively in views, comments, buzz & fan activity on a weekly basis get to see their celebrity on top. I think everything is computer generated on a daily basis, there is no human intervention in these tabulations and hence fair. However, I would like to know what activities contribute to fan points.

I do not have any doubts about the fairness on how these are calculated.

If a celebrity's comments are low, they are low. Let the fans work harder to improve that.

If view points have reduced, they have reduced because other groups are working harder.

There is no need to question the fairness and restrict number of views per user. That would not be fair to fans who are working hard to increase views of their celebrities.

Number of fans & pages have reduced, because of the MID clean up that was done. And I understand it is not easy task to eliminate all MIDs.

And buzz points is very valid and only celebrities who are in news for new & running shows get buzz, so it gives all celebrities chance to gain points when they are indeed creating a BUZZ. Buzz points are an additional indicator of which celebrities are in news for their work.

I believe it is ok to seek an understanding of how the system works, and as a user I want to know that, but its not ok to question the system every time my favorite celebrity slips in ranking ( because of buzz or views or whatever else)

I think the ranking system is fine & fair as it is...just a little explanation is all what we seek.
