However feedback can be complicated too especially when you are dealing with people. To begin with feedback needs to given in a positive light not to start as accusations as it more often starts does. Feedback makes people get insecure especially when its out in the open and they start self-doubting. Here everything gets out of bounds very quickly and mudslinging is what is feedback boils down to. Let's face it the topic of feedback only arises when members don't get their way. I have been here way too long and rarely have heard anyone say a nice word to me about how good I am or my team is(btw I am surprised that someone did put in a good word for me in this thread)

Feedback here is always moans and rants, complaints and grievances. This forum is huge and running it with all the masala that gets thrown thanks to shows CV;s and media is no walk in the park. Everyone spams my PM inbox with the complaints with all the negativity and how people do things wrong. What about the things we have in place to help eliminate a chunk of the problem. Why not tell us also what's working so we can try to get things that don't work to fall into the same pattern. Anyways that's fine and I totally understand that's the way life decrees but when the topic of feedback has been raised I had to put it there. Feedback needs to be more positive and productive but rarely that turns to be the case at IF. Over here on the forum even something simple does not tend to stay that way . People come to throw their spin which is not in a positive light and then we end to derail from what we set out to do. What may start as something constructive ends up becoming destructive within a few posts not to mention different tangents brought to the same issue making it look like someone has committed a crime. Let me mention that yes there was an instance where things did get out of control however apart from that for the most part we have been successful in running the forum this way. Given the task at hand with different people setting out to say 5 different things on the same topic the moderators job is not the easiest . And the entire DT give a lot of time and effort to making sure the forum runs smoothly. It may seem at times they sound harsh or have to breathe down your throat but those are what happens when members don't want to listen to us. It may be a few who don't but that still ends up with us being tough and police the forum against your wishes.

It may be only handfuls have a problem with the mods but those handfuls are enough to stir the pot. To rile and instigate and when they bring topics about mods what we have now is a DT backbiting discussion. You are not here for the DT but for topics that you find interesting to discuss and we don't want forums to have members jump on a bashing bandwagon because they get the pleasure of doing that.. We have had people even go down to having to plot against the DT because they feel that the DT member is on some personal vendetta. All the DTs have access to forums where they discuss the issues on day to day basis so although it may seem that one person is against a lot of decisions are made collectively. Some members just cannot restrain themselves from being offensive when they have to get the point across and that spreads even more negativity. We are not against constructive criticism however most of the times its accusations thrown out. This really spoils the mood of the forum and instead of the mods focusing on working on helping members they now have to fend members off their back. This leads to lots of forum work being neglected. Hence there is no open forum policy on giving feedback about mods. But wait before you start getting annoyed at me and start to condemn me let me tell you that does not mean we do not allow feedback on our mods period. All I said is its not allowed in the open forum. You are always free to come up the chain with your complaints and objections. There are lots of complaints we get and we do look at them and take actions based on situations. I know you feel that all this should be done in the open so nothing just gets shoved under the rug. Let me assure you although we do not allow criticism of the DT on the open forum we have no intentions of neglecting or not looking at them via PM. We really are committed to getting answers to your problems. So I request you henceforth that feel free to contact the higher DT via PM and not use the forum to discuss DTs. We may take time as we do get swamped with a lot of issues daily but we surely will try to help you get your issue resolved. Also make sure that when you contact us you got valid reasoning and proof so we can make informed decisions.

From what I see here there seems to be an issue on why different DT;s have a different approach on banned and problematic members. I do not know why since I do not have the full picture on what transpired. Be assured we are here to give everyone a fair treatment so if someone feels that they have been unfairly banned then there is sure to be more to that Right now it does seem that maybe people were jumping to do things hastily but I am sure there is more history and reasoning on why that's the case. There is more to this issue than that meets the eye and hence please be patient till we get to the bottom of what happened. In the meantime if more of this DT bashing happens then we will be left with no choice but to take stringent measures .

Not taking any sides here because I am not really sure of the details or what happened in the past. But just saying what I have seen so far in the Bollywood section:

- Criticizing DT members is easy when a forum is not working smoothly or there are a lot of issues but I think it's the members as well who are responsible to keep the forum in place. Where BS is concerned, I have noticed that members sometimes do not follow the rules or mock the DT openly for the very same rules, because of which the DT loses respect in the eyes of other members as well, for example:

a) There is a rule in BS that member related topics are not allowed, yet many members make such topics and others join in too with comments such as "post soon as this topic will be closed soon". So when you know such topics are not allowed, why open it in the first place or comment on it encouraging others to do the same? If there is a rule against it, there must be some reason behind it.

b) There was another rule about not having more than 3 quotes in your posts, I do not know what the real purpose was, but atleast with this rule the posts looked much cleaner and shorter. Yet this rule was not followed, initially ofcourse it takes time for one to remember to edit his/her posts but I found some members again mocking the DT about it and purposely having 4-5 quotes in their post .

c) There is a rule that a member should not make more than 3 topics or one poll per day but I see many topics closed because the members failed to follow these rules.

d) Using abusive language is a general rule of the forum yet many members do not remember that and the DT ends up editing all the posts which uses bad language.

^all this I have noticed in the 3 months that I have been in this section. My point is, its easy to blame the DT for their faults but how much does the members of a section contribute in making the section a better place? If there are rules, why are they not followed? BS is a very hyper active section with loads of posts/ topics made in a day, I sometimes wonder how does the DT of this place even cope up with all this? On top of that the members make their work even more difficult by not following the rules.

Not saying DT of BS is right all the time, there have been instances where I was surprised to see the DT react the way they did.

So ya criticize the DT all you want to, but at the same time the members should try and avoid giving them unnecessary trouble.

The salman khan topics in particular always turn out into a war situation. Its nice to debate once in a while, but members should not mock others if they like a particular actor, or the mock the actor repeatedly. The fans and the bashers sometimes go out of hand, resulting in the topic being closed.

Being a regular member does not mean that you can do just anything and leave it on the DT to clean up the mess, why not try to do things as per the rules and do not give a chance to DT or anyone to warn you or ban you?

Not that banning without any reason is right, warning levels and bans should be the last resort only when the member does not co-operate or intentionally causes trouble.

While I appreciate the opposing POV on this, I think we all already know and understand your points. No one is contesting warning levels or regulated bans on here. I am the TM and I myself have 60% WL but did you see me cribbing about it anywhere on this thread? Nope because they did give me reasons for it. Therefore, I understand and accept my warnings and I don't begrudge the BS DT that. This thread is not about me. This thread was opened to question the unfair bans that Dr3vil and Heisenberg kept receiving at the hands of a single moderator and to question the silence of the BS DT on this matter. These two were not given any warnings. In any case, I believe the higher DTs are now working on sorting that out, so I'd rather not say anything more. But rest assured, the problem here goes beyond simple forum violations, it has to do with personal vendettas being meted out for reasons unknown. Dr3vil has all the proof of the said conspiracy so I do hope the matter is resolved soon.

i understand the topic is about the BS section and its DT, hence gave my opinion. it may not be related to the bans of Heisenberg or Dr3vil but in general when i saw the DT being criticized, i mentioned a few reasons why they could not be as efficient as they are required to be, for the section as a whole. and just to make it clear i do not support banning of any member without any reason, but i think violating rules constantly leads to bans in the first place. i am not trying to justify the bans here or the DT, but i genuinely wanted the section to be a better place hence feel that members and DT both should work together instead of against each other. rest, if the higher DT is sorting this out, its well and good. but with new DT team, i would also like to see some change in the members attitude as well.
