Just finished going through all the pages on this topic. And itts about time to bring in some strong measures to prevent misuse of the PM feature with the growing size of the site.

So here are a few changes that we are working on:

a) Newbies cannot post images / hyperlinks in PMs also

b) IPs are logged for each PM and we are giving access to the Admin Group and to our inhouse security team to trace and help our Dev Team in identifying problem members.

c) Members will have the option to restrict PMs to be recieved from their Buddies only.

d) Report Offensive PMs directly so that it goes directly to the Inhouse Security Team or selected individuals who will be able to see the reported PMs and take appropriate action.

We hope all this should take care of 90% of the problem. We will be monitoring the situation and see how all these things will solve the issue and what else we need to work on.

As we need to keep a balance and genuine members should not face any problem or feel unwanted and neither the older members feel threatened.

So relax and we will try our best to ensure you all have a great stay on India-Forums.com

If IP of Newbies are locked, y didn't u catch that Aish fan who sends creepy PMs to everyone who says 1 single word against Aishwarya?

Now if u will say u or ur Security guyz haven't come across such thing, than BLAME it on MODS of Bollywood Section who haven't taken this issue towards u.

Make SOME MODS for Bollywood Section who are very regular in that section, who can take problems right away to concern person, and immediate action should be taken.

Well thats cause no one has the access to Members PM.

With the new proposed system to "Report Offensive PM" will give that access to our Inhouse Team and will enable us take necessary action. And this applies to older PMs too and once the feature is ACTIVE, the affected members can always report those PMs.

Cause people do leave some clue always which gives him away.
