@Ashi you got me. Chanakya Chant is a book even I want to get a serial version of. Yes Ashish would be great as CGM. Manishji can be Chanakya or even Gangasagar Mishra. I want Jenny to do the role of Chandini. uff it will be fab 😆😆.
But it has to be finite series and EK or RS should never come near it 😆😆

@Mano I will check that out.

@visa Chillapathikaram and Manimeghlai I have read. I guess there was a show in DD also in late nineties called Upasana. You can check it in You tube. It was quite a good one.

Actually studying the courses of Dakshin Bharat Hindi Prachar Sabha had helped to be in touch with old and contemporary Indian literature a lot. Otherwise in the convent school I studied if I remember right except for O Chandu Menon's Indulekha and Dharmaraja, I have not studied many regional stories.

I had studied till Praveen 2nd part and had read a lot of Hindi poems, short stories, dramas and novels as part of the studies.

We have to make our stories reach the new generation. I had attempted something in my story Seven Vows. I had tried best to incorporate our culture into the story. Our beliefs, traditions, food, festivals and dress also. Because unless we talk good about our culture how do we expect others to talks.

Di,you are a genius!! Jen will be so damn perfect for Chandini Gupta
Ashish is toh the first and best choice for CGM❤️Manish ji was excellent as Chanakya and he will do justice to Gangasagar Mishra too.
Chanakya's Chant on television will be a dream come true. And I agree that it has to be a finite series.
I can't bear to imagine Ekta or RS anywhere near that book🤢
POW's PH will be a good choice if Chanakya's Chant is ever serialised.

hi 🤗
saw Murugan promo and it was pretty impressive
Promo was of Hindi fantasy serials standards
That peacock VFX was really good😳
which is quite surprising considering regional show budget

Lovely discussion going on 😛
Like Prave said everyone here is like an encyclopedia😳

Can someone tell me about Lord Ayyappa? He is also worshipped in Tamil Nadu right?

Chanakya Chant I think I have seen Ashish reading it, I could be wrong, but he surely reads the books from Ashwin Sanghi. So if it's made into a tv adaptation, he will be really excited😆
And Ashu and Jen will make a cute pair 😳

Btw I feel Ashu in Rudra look and Jen in Kumud look will too good together. Otherwise Ashu in Ranveer/Fateh look n Jenny's Maya avatar will rock 😆😆 what do u guys feel??😆😆

@mano Bachna Ae Hasino 😭😭😆
TFS for the caps 😳

And TFS the promo , VFX are awesome👏

@aditi Ayyappa is the son of Hari and Hara. Or in other words son of Shiva and Vishnu. He was born to kill Mahishi who got a boon that only son of Hari and Hara could kill her. To kill Bhasmasura Vishnu takes the Mohini roop and Shiva is fascinated by that roop and in that union Ayyappa or Manikanda is born.
The child comes to the childless king of Pandalam and the royal couple is happy and seeing the bell in the neck calls him Manikandan.
once the queen has a son after Manikandan royal ppl who wants to conspire against Manikandan manages to convince the queen if Manikandan is there her child wont get throne. Hence queen fakes illness and ask Manikandan to bring the milk of tigress.
Manikandan goes to get the milk in the process kills Mahishi, who becomes Malikapurathama and asks Manikandan to marry her.
Manikandan tells in this avatar he is brahmachari and will reside as such in the hills of Sabarimala, however if any year a new bhakth doesnt come for him, he will marry Malikapurathama. He comes back with tigress milk reveals who he is and goes to Sabarimala. Pandalam king builds a temple there. Every year ornaments are sent from pandalam royal family to sabarimala calling thanka anki as Manikandan promised his mother one day he will wear all the ornaments she had made for him.

Hence the temple of Sabarimala has Malikapuratham facing away from Ayyappa deity . Once the season is over she is taken to saramkutti as a procession dressed as a bride where she sees arrows kept there from first time visitors to sabarimala and goes back sadly and waits another year.

Sabarimala it is said you need to take 40 days strict fast and have to take irumudi kettu. It is the baggage of your good deeds and bad deeds and surrender everything to Ayyappa so that he washes your sins and rewards you for your good deeds.

Reason why mensurating women cannot go to Sabarimala as I understand is 1) because of the strenuous journey which can even induce early periods and during periods we dont visit temples 2) we cannot take continuous 40 day fast as during periods usually fasts are not kept.

Third it is my POV. Compared to women, carnal desires in men is more. The fast and the visit to the hills helps them to manage their carnal desires in a better way and allow them to lead a balanced and responsible life.

But currently people make it look like Ayyappa is some 4th grade man who might lose his control the moment he sees young woman. And women are telling as if, if they conquer Sabarimala feminism has won. That is what I dont like about the whole sabarimala entry for women debate.

The most ridiculous comment was a man telling period means abortion of a fetus 🤢. Look at the level of information people have. Cant they even know if that's the case an unmarried woman cannot get periods.

Thank u for the info Shruthi di 😊
My neighbors are Tamilians and they always call us in Ayyappa Puja's. It's done once in a year at their house hold.

People don't even have basic info about these things.
