If I understand right Dravidian culture worshipped Goddess more. It was more of matrilineal system, while Aryan was patriarchal. Even now in Kerala certain castes follow matrilineal system. Kerala TN are places where Goddess is worshipped as Shakthi, Kali etc.

It is in Southern literature we find Kannagi who burns Mathura, a fierce form of Goddess, whereas North literature doesnt celebrate this fierce form of Goddess except in Bengal where Kali pooja happens.

See if you read Da vinci code same concept is taken by Dan brown in the name of Paganism. Paganism is Goddess worshipers and then the book says Christianity over took them to make it God superior.

Shruthi, there is no clear proof of Aryan or Dravidian associated with IVC
But the scripts found were more close to Dravidian language ,if I am not wrong

That's right it's more of Goddess workship down south

But the people of the Indus Valley Civilization also worshipped the Mother Goddess right??Infact Pasupati and the Mother Goddess were two of their prime deities.
@bold,it's an extremely good book with beautiful symbolisms. It felt like a puzzle when I was reading it.
Christianity was propagated through brutal and violent means too.

Also the recent Keeladi/Keezhadi excavation
and the controversy surrounding it as it was stopped in mid
they say it could be even older than Indus Valley Civilization
and shed light on Vaigai Karai (River) Civilization
Since now they have resumed work
Lets hope for the best

It's so fascinating.
There are a lot of ancient mysteries in our land for sure.We just have to uncover them.

Those countries that don't have much of a history are longing for it
Here we fail to cherish it inspite of having it in abundance
Politics in everything , even in a excavation
and corruption to top it
we don't preserve our monuments too

@Mano IVC flourished along Af-Pak region, that's why I thought it could be more Aryan.
@Ashi yes they worshipped Mother Goddess. But not in the fierce form like Kali which you see in Kerala, TN. They worshipped her more as Gauri, Annapo*na at the most Durga in a way in benevolent form

Da vinci code was a good book, a beautiful puzzle. Actually Ashwin Sanghi's Krishna Key was an attempt to Indianize Da Vinci code and I can tell he failed miserably.

That's true. The history here is so vast and deep that it will probably take centuries to uncover it.But our government is busy playing politics instead of cherishing and preserving our rich history and monuments.
Thanks for sharing the video.🤗Will surely watch it

It is an interesting fact about keeladi. I was totally unaware of it until now will watch the video as well.

Shruthi, I think IvC was before the Aryan civilization. As you mentioned Dravidian culture gives equal or higher place to goddess. Without shakthi there is no existence for shiva.

Kannagi's story is just beautiful narrated in one of the five tamil kaviyam- large poetry - silapathigaram. She is one of the pathi vrathai who fought verbally against the pandya king who killed her husband without proper investigation and her purity burns madurai down.

Da vinci code by dan brown was simply superb read. I loved the book more than the movie
