Why does SKR continuously show the rishis as some kind of oppressive fellows?
In the epic, the praja do doubt if Luv Kush are really Ram's kids, not because they think Sita married someone else, but because Sita was not present when Luv Kush said they were her kids.
So they wanted Sita to come to Ayodhya and tell everything that yes, the kids were hers and Rams.
Which is why Sita did Bhumi pravesh, to prove her kids' parentage and not because she broke ties with Ayodhya.
