Ram killing Ravan, Kubhakarna- how it all started...
Once Sanat kumar brothers, went to Vaikunth to meet Vishnuji. They were kumars- teenagers.
Jay, Vijay, Vishnuji's dwarpals stopped them from entering inside. They in turn got cursed by 4 rishis- Sanat Kumars, to be born on Earth.
Sanat kumars were, highly learned rishis, who remained kumars forever. They represent highly elevated disciples, who wanted to meet their Aaradhya- Vishnuji, but were stopped & mocked by Jay & Vijay. Stopping a devotee from meeting their aaradhya, turned out to be a crime & they had to pay for it by being born 3 times.
As Hiranyaksh, he stole Earth. Which was hidden under water. Vishnuji took Varah avatar to kill him.
As Hiranyakashyapu, Prahlad was stopped from worshipping Vishnuji.
As Ravan, Sita was seprated from Ram by abducting her.
As Kumbhakarna, he helped Ravan.
The main nature of their mistake, crime, remained similar. Every time they stopped an elevated soul or devotee from meeting their aaradhya.
This shows, one can not escape from paying for their crime. Inspite of being Vishnuji's favourite, they had to spend 3 births on Earth. They commited many crimes during these births. The main reason was their arrogance, the root cause of their behaviour as the guards of Vaikunth.
If they being so near to Vishnuji, couldnt stopped getting carried away indicates, even after being near to God, one has to be alert all the time as for as their actions are concerned. A small mistake can put you down form a high position. It may a long time to get back to the original position.
Even Vishnuji had to pay a heavy price for Jay, Vijay. He had to take birth specially to stop their crime & punish them. Even he had to suffer as Ram along with his consort.
