Guys what an episode. It dealt with perceptions at the deepest level. So remarkable. And if you look Hanuman, Lakshman and Urmila are the ones who shows no perception. They are what they are. Posting analysis soon

Perceptions. It is my favourite topic. I love to analyze any show that creates perceptions but unravel the reality behind the scenes. EHT was one beautiful show which did that. It dealt with perceptions and behind the scenes it ripped apart the hypocrisy. I had loved the way the show showed how a rape victim gets name sake sympathy and a so called Tukhrayi hui dulhan gets all the sympathy by the male protoganist's mother Suchitra who I had characterized as hypocrite. Whenever you analyze a show this is the perception you have to cut through. The message under the perception has to be right. The reason I left watching DABH because they created perceptions of sacrifice and I couldn't ignore the female protoganist's hypocrite underbelly.

So what was the perceptions that SKR today dealt with. First and the foremost it dealt with Hanuman. Who comes to the rajsabha covering himself in sindoor. The whole praja laugh at him. Ram and Siya doesn't say anything to him. Why. Because in Rajsabha they cannot show favouritism. All are equal in front of king and queen. The praja thinks what Hanuman did is foolishness. But Siya Ram in private blesses him telling Ram's name will be incomplete without him and whoever does his abhishek with Sindoor will be Siya Ram's favourite.

Hanuman tells because of his act Siya Ram has to be ashamed in Rajsabha. Ram tells no. But Hanuman gets a learning of creating the right perception. According to situation you have to create perception. It is not bad if you create perception for the right cause. I learned the art of creating perception when after working so hard I got a bad annual rating. When I started explaining what I did the senior manager's question was why it was not known to him before. Modesty makes us not to boast about our achievements. But in this world you don't have to boast what you didn't do. But if you don't create the right impression for what you have done with the right people even the people who love you will be rendered helpless in supporting you at certain situations. If you look in MB Krishna creates the same perception when he gives Arjuna the choice. Because he cannot leave Duri. Only Arjun can make the choice what he wants as he gets the first option. Giving Arjun the first option is Krishna's way of showing how important Arjun is to him.

Next is the karma card. See till now we have seen Dhobi feels the injustice done to his daughter. But why was praja so much agitated with him. Because he has created the perception that his wife's character is not good. A society where a mother's character is doubted by the father himself will it create a good perception for the couple's daughter. Actually no. The character assassination the dhobi did of his wife, who is also someone's daughter the society did to his daughter. The daughter suffered the punishment of her father's karma towards her mother. But as usual the dhobi doesn't understand this and love to point fingers outside that too at Ram. It is his dirt that is pointed at Sita. Because he is surprised Ram doesn't belong to his category. He doesn't doubt his wife an iota. That creates an uncomfortable, insecure feeling in him with which he snatches Ram's happiness. The praja has not questioned this man for doing character assassination of his wife. He will be questioned when Ram keeps the golden statue of Sita.

Last but not the least the perception of Raghunandan and Janaknandini. Ram says for his kul and its rule he can sacrifice Sita, but Ram will have his Siya always in her heart. He asks Sita to tell her father she will not come. But what does she say if he is binded by maryada she is binded by love of her father. So take care of himself till she is back. I loved that interaction where Sita asserted her independent self. Together yet free line was so beautifully sketched here. She will not take her lover husband's bait. She will be Sita the kulvadhu of Ayodhya who is asked to observe the rules of Mithila by the king himself. She will stick to it. We can see both of them are unhappy in their separation, but then they create the perception that everything is fine and they are observing the rules happily. I am loving SKR now. It is the game of perceptions. I never knew when Ram explained AP I will see such a beautiful screenplay on perceptions.

Shruthi, beautiful post .Everything is indeed relative of the various perspectives that shapes humans...Since I watch it online Sita's convo with Ram got blanked out. I could understand the scene only with the written part.
It was a beautiful episode which acted as a bridge connecting the present to the future. The convo between Urmila and Lakshman was a much needed one, a few major issues between them were dealt with in a dignified and effective manner. Janak 's conversation was laded with hidden symbolisms .He unwittingly brings out the difference between Raghunandan who bows down to traditions and lets Sita go: and Ram who willingly would never be separated from her. Sita has always understood and accepted all the facets of Ram, but AP and this scene perhaps acted as a mode of transition to fully acknowledge that even she was not exempt from Raghunandan's adherence to rules and traditions. Sita being true to herself faces it head on with Ram and he by reiterating his stand today has given her the clarity she needs in the future when she embarks on her journey without him. I am working on the presumption that the second vanvass would be her decision and not the popular version of her finding out only in the forest{don't really like that version and somehow it does not go with both Ram and Sita's character}.
The other scene that was poignant was the scene between Janak and Sita.It had all the emotional feel of a vidaai .A lot of things were dealt with ;His upbringing, her physical and mental strength, her acknowledgement of his love and her final tribute to the first man in her life.
This scene is what he and also us are going to remember at her final decision of entering mother earth.
One more thing was the reminder for the male dominated society of today. It is entirely a woman's prerogative to add her father or her husband's name and it is a man's privilege not his right!

I don't know what to tell about today's episode. And also the feeling of a miracle. Did my Krishna knew the most pertinent question about Ramayan that has bothered me from childhood, whenever I had read it. Did he decide time has come to give me the answer or I am in a position to understand the answer.

Ram the Maryada Purushottam we have seen. But Ram the God. Why he is God. Today's episode gave the answer. So what was my question. It didn't had anything to do with Sita or why Ram banished Sita. It had to do with the dhobi's wife. What about her. A dhobi told he cannot take his wife back like Ram because she has disobeyed him and wandered around. When Ram banished Sita I was feeling wasn't he telling the wife of dhobi that even if she comes to him she will not get justice. Isnt in Ram Rajya a poor lady is denied justice than the queen. Is Ram telling the females of his rajya they have to obey their husband's order even if he misbehaves with you. Is that what 7th avatar of Lord Vishnu wants man to understand. Is that what Ram Rajya is. Because if that is Ram Rajya then we are having Ram Rajya in India at present with its deeply rooted patriarchal beliefs pointed at Ram.

But today SKR beautifully showed what was the intention of Sita Banishment.A poor lady knocks at the king's door, their protector asking justice. Telling her husband is not taking her back. The king asks the husband to take her back. He doesn't agree and point fingers at the king that he is not like Ram who is blinded by his wife's love to take back a woman who has wandered around.

Now order of the king is refused. Yes King can use his power and make him obey order. But no Ram doesn't do that. He banishes his pregnant wife to jungle telling one of his praja feels bad about a decision made by him. Ayodhya goes for a toss. The poor lady's pain becomes the queen's pain that too the pregnant queen. A queen who has given AP. Dhobi is accused, he is isolated, society looks at him with disdain as the man who has bought pain to king and queen and their unborn child because of his parochial views.

Just like the isolation of Mandira and those supported her ways, Ram silences dhobi and his ilks with his supreme sacrifice. God wants to know even the last human why he did what he did. He wants Dhobi to knew why he accepted Sita. What was his trust on her.

And today he tells he wants child who will even fight with him for Sita's sake. Yes Luv-Kush will come. They will give justice to their mother and giving justice to her they will give justice to the poor woman also. Ram and Ayodhya will be questioned for their maryada to banish a woman who did AP. Ayodhya's parochial views will stand exposed.

It was Bharath who brought down the system in Ayodhya through the fire Mandavi, and now Ram's children will do the final cleansing of the impurity in Ayodhya.

Beautiful episode. From the time lanka war is over Ram has a tension about how Sita will be accepted by Ayodhya people. Even after sita gives AP he tells her what is acceptable might not be acceptable in Ayodhya. He clearly knows Sita will not be safe from the people of Ayodhya regarding her purity. I never could understand till now why Ram banished Sita. But SKR is showing Ram perception very clearly. I dont know if I understood correctly one of the main reason Ram banished Sita to protect her and his kids from the society remarks ? I still wonder Lord Ram could not figure out a better way to establish the dharm. Why was he so strict on rules ?
