I loved the way Ram explained his stance to Lakshman. It was no longer their personal battle. It was the battle for the larger good of man kind. For the larger good of humanity. So when you say larger good of humanity each action taken for that has to worth emulating. It has to set a standard for others to follow.
I would say this is what taking up responsibility means. You can go and preach anything to anyone. But you cannot influence if you dont show your words in action. After doing love marriage it is easy to tell it is better to have arranged marriage. But does that hold water. When it was you, when it was your emotions what did you do. You went against your parents and did manmani. So how can you tell another person obey parents.

It is same with everything. Without getting a merit seat of B-Tech, I cannot go , get merit seat. So only through actions you get power to speak.

So your actions has to be impeccable. You will have to take lot of personal pain to keep your actions impeccable. It is easy to lose ground when you get influenced by circumstances. But a real fighter rises above circumstances to see right and wrong. Circumstances dont make them react, they act creating circumstances.

So if you want power, if you want to reform correct your actions. Make them inline with maryada. So that generation remember and emulate those actions just like centuries later we are looking at Shri Ram

Another fantastic post 👏👏
And Krishna is also like that. He says something, He follows it.
I think love marriages should happen with the permission of the parents.

So your actions has to be impeccable. You will have to take lot of personal pain to keep your actions impeccable. It is easy to lose ground when you get influenced by circumstances. But a real fighter rises above circumstances to see right and wrong. Circumstances dont make them react, they act creating circumstances.
Pefrect lines Shruthi 👏👏

@Shrutha you cannot preach maryada, you have to act and show maryada. Problem that is with society is that maryada is preached not acted upon.
Respect is demanded, not earned.

What a post Shruthi Di ..
Ram's words were very poignant yesterday.. We need to rise above our personal sentiments and think about the greater good of society. That's what the army men do, the real hero's of the nation. More than personal life they think about their nation..

And as Ram said, now the whole world is watching them, hence their decisions need to be absolutely correct as it will set an example for every one...

That's how it shud be today, we can't preach anything. Why is it that people get attracted towards successful people ? Whatever they say it becomes and inspiration, but if the same thing is said by someone unsuccessful, then we don't pay a heed, as our life itself should speak for us, we need to set example for others through our lives. As u said knowledge as well as Purusharth is the key to success

@aditi why people are using shortcut for success. Because they see only adharma winning. Dharma doesn't fight. It keeps silent, telling it is fate. Society is like this. Circumstance is like this. Everyone believes we have to bend rules to get something.
Problem is destination is seen, not the journey. The one who observes the journey of great men like Ram, Krishna, Mahatma Gandhi, Gautham Buddha, Nelson Mandela, Abraham Lincoln you will see one thing. Their path is same. The struggle is same. They are men who rose about circumstances to do something.
Very recent example was in today's newspaper. Read this. An inspiring one

^^ I read the article, it's really inspiring
I loved how the officer remained genuine and grounded. And didn't use his position in the best possible way. Like it's said with great power comes great responsibility :)

The heroes you have cited Shruthi all were confronted with problems with multiple ways they could solve it or confront it. They made choices that did not put the self in the forefront.
A true leader is one who is selfless who considers the well being of all around when an action is taken.
In today's context we are in dire need of such selfless leaders but what we see in this rat race is negation of rights and well being of all. Jan Rakshan is for personal gain...Jan Kalyan is not public welfare but meri jan ka welfare. So folks clamor for listing or inclusion in this category for preferential treatment. At the end of the day the people society looks upto are those with power and material. The path one takes is seldom the focal point. Even Ram had to justify his stance...his values and intent were not explicit even to his own brother who lived like his shadow. When we look at the reason it could be because of the accountability, responsibility or values one attaches to the choices one makes.
One can look understand and act as Vishni IAS or look understand and look away.

@Vidya justification is asked for everyone. And you can satisfy everyone. But can you satisfy yourself. The freewill starts from there. To satisfy myself, to be true to myself.
