First and foremost let me trace Hanuman's journey to Lanka for the mission find Sita . Hanuman calls himself sevak of Lord, while Arjun is his friend. What is the difference between them. A friend can commit mistakes, he or she always doesn't know what the Lord wants or what Lord will approve of. But Lord helps them by allowing them to correct their path by making them realize their mistakes. But when you are a sevak you have a clear cut goal. You know you need to complete that goal for your Lord. Please note Arjun asks why he should fight the war. Hanuman commits his action at the feet of Lord. He knows why he is doing what he is doing. A complete clarity of mind. Whenever we take up something in life we need to have the clarity of mind the way Hanuman has. If we are not having it always better to place yourself as Arjun and then ask for directions.

Next important thing is Hanuman is always in present. Hurdles come in his way. And look at the way he deals with each Hurdles. First come Naga Matha. He politely explains to her his goal. The lady doesn't allow him to move forward. Hanuman knows it is not right to kill a mother, a lady but then he also has to go. He check if there is anyway to bypass her without killing her. If you look he follows Ram's path only. Is there any way to move forward without killing a woman. And with Sursa he finds a way. He sends her where she belongs. To take care of her kids in Nagalok than guarding the borders of Adarmi Lanka. There is also an interesting aspect Hanuman says land is under the rule of kings who rule it, but there are no boundaries for oceans and sky. Isnt it true. Land has to be regulated because sanskriti thrives in land, but how can you draw borders for vast ocean and sky. But aren't we doing that also. Our marine borders and our air space. It is like we decide the borders of the universe. We think we rule it and no one can conquer the so called boundaries. Hanuman reaching Lanka is the classic example of futility of such measures of controlling air and water. Air is unbound and water it flows you cannot stop it. If you stop flowing water it will get stagnant, and if you restrict air it becomes pungent. And what will you get in land. Can life thrive in mud and pungent environment. No. The Sanskriti that stops the flow of water and controls air will eventually die.

Now comes Simhika. Look at her technique. She catches Hanuman's shadow to make him immobile. Catching shadow means catching your defense.What does Hanuman do once he reaches underwater, he reduces the size in such a way that shadow is not seen. In certain situations it is very important not to reveal your defense. He tells Simhika his purpose. And look at the way he kills Simhika. He turns and walks and Simhika holds him from behind. I always say don't follow without knowing what you are following. Hanuman goes to her maximum stretch, then stretches himself thus killing her. We need to note that there was no other option for Hanuman other than killing Simhika if he had to move forward. As she was playing with his defense. And by immobilizing his defense she was immobilizing him.

Last comes Lankini. Look here Hanuman tries to sneak into Lanka. Why didn't he go in full view. Because he was not only a messenger but a spy also.He had to take information to Ram on Lanka for that his self preservence is very important. It is here we see the major difference between Arjun and Hanuman. Arjun doesn't care for self preservance. If his relation is hurt he goes for self-destruction. He doesn't realize if he is destroyed dharma loses. Dharma needs him for victory. Hanuman very well realizes his principle. But shrewd Lankini catches him. But he defeats her and she goes. Once Lankini says she is going Hanuman doesn't do anything with her inline with his principle. Then he enters Lanka. Goes around stealthily. Decides he should not play around with soldiers as his mission is important and finally sees Sita. Look at the way he ascertains Sita. First by the call by Trijadha and then with the information Ram gave. Before revealing himself he is ascertaining whether it is the right person. This is a very important quality of a sevak. To ascertain things before taking action.

Now Sita. Once again her Anubhuti comes into picture. Trijadha says no one has come. But sita says the crow cannot be wrong, her feelings cannot be wrong , messenger of Ram has come. When Sita is so sure with her feelings that messenger of Ram has come, Ravan is also so sure someone has come. Because the 3 women he had send to guard the borders I has gone to her native place, second is killed and third has just vanished. And his son is not seeing who has come. Once again Hanuman's quality of self preservance comes to fore. A good sevak does not reveal himself or his purpose in a hurry. He will reveal it only at the appropriate time.

Ravan ka Band baaja is continued by Sita. Fear is creeping into Ravan. After Bali vadh he knows what he is dealing with. And Akshay kumar his search for identity Hanuman will give him identity through death. I will make a separate post on this identity crisis part. It is a very relevant topic of these days. How do you get identity. How elders can support a child in getting his or her identity the right way.
