What a beautiful path crossing once again for Ram and Ravan. How does the Karma come back. Ravan sends a spy Akampana to know about Ram. And how does Akampana comes to know about Ram. Through a beautiful song. It was from that song, the conspiracy of Sita Apaharan started. It was the song that was the beginning of the misery of Ram and Sita. And look today. Once again a song. This time from the messenger of Ram who begins the destruction of adharma, who is the start of Ravan's downfall, Lanka's downfall. How beautifully CVs have showed the method you used to harm others, the same method will come to harm you.

Method used both by Ram and Ravan are same. But look at the difference. Akampana comes in hiding. He never shows himself to Ram. He is a spy. He comes because of the hatred Ravan has for Ram and his lust for Sita.

And Hanuman is the messenger of Ram. Does he hide. No he comes to Ravan sabha and shows him who he is. He gives open warning.

How could Ram give open warning, while Ravan could not. This is where fear and respect matters. Ravan rules by fear. If you are ruling by fear, understand that you yourself is a very insecure person. You feel if you open up then people no longer will fear. You fear if truth or your Achilles heel is known to people your kingdom will go. Whereas as a man who has respect he knows the basis of the respect. His actions. He respects himself and is secure with himself. People follow him in freewill, while people follow Ravan for their own selfish needs. He doesn't fear if he opens up he will be defeated. He trust in his ability to fight and expects all his sevaks to do the same. He and his sevaks are same.

Look at the way Ram addresses Hanuman " Aap". And he answers all of Hanuman's questions, his doubts on how he will prove himself to Sita. He gives his mudrika to Hanuman as a proof of him being his sevak. And look at Sita. Look at how she treats the messenger. More than the message first she asks who he is. His name. Do we know how much it matters to a person when we ask their name. They feel a respect. They feel self worth. How Janak Nandini praises Hanuman, tells him she owes to him and she will never be able to fulfill what she owes to him.

And Hanuman says it is his luck that he has been given an oppourtunity by Lord to remove her pain. It is a very beautiful message. How many of us understand the oppourtunity that comes in front of us to remove someone's pain. To give them what they need the most in certain situations. How many of us take the trouble like Hanuman to cross all barriers to give relief to a grieving person. It can be a small thing. But to understand the extend of pain and provide your support in relieving it even a bit you do the great service to Lord.

A good sevak of Lord is one who relieves other's from pain. That is why Hanuman is called Sankat Mochan. If you have this knowledge and if you practice it in someway you serve the Lord the way Hanuman served him.

Shruthi good post. Fear rules over people's minds but love and respect rules over their hearts .Ravan could not grasp this simple fact and loses the three graces{although they are on the tarnished side} as well as his brother's loyalty which becomes one of the main reasons for the breach in his defenses. When you compare Ravan with Ram, the latter has accumulated his warriors who have come with their free will and that is his greatest strength, isn't it? I loved Ram's convo with Hanuman .His description of Sita comes closest to my own perception of her {whereas in most translations she is reduced to a mere victim}.In lanka she would had to face so many trials and tribulations both mental and physical. She would have been subjected to so many unseen dangers ,withstood so many mental abuses ...all this she could have not done and survived if not for her strength.
One more thing, her power to withstand these daily onslaughts had to come not only from the enduring earth but the destructive vigor of fire. Now if we link Ravan's dream of the kali roop of Sita with her agni pareeksha, doesn't it make more sense that she had to return that uncontrollable power of fire to its source and emerge with her Gowri roop{your words Shruthi} for the welfare of the world. here again Hari's maya comes to play, doesn't it?😉

@Savitha yes, regarding AP there is a concept called Maya Sita, which says Ram had hidden real sita in Agni and Ravan took Maya Sita and when AP happened Maya Sita went and real Sita emerged from it. If you look at it logically. Sita the Gowri was in Ram's heart. The constructive force, Ram's Shakthi.
And remember what Akampana says Ram's weakness is Sita his power. Ravan snatches that power physically. But can you snatch the soul which has freewill. It still remains Ram's Shakthi. That is Hari's Maya. Power or Shakthi is still with Ram, while the physical form is with Ravan. And what is a person without soul, without conscience especially a woman. She is Mahakali just a shadow.
Look at Sita when she comes to Lanka. It is plain Kali with death in her eyes. Her soul is with Ram and Ram couldn't protect her from this condition. With the coming of the dove, knowing Ram's condition, we see some spark in her, her faith of Ram getting restored. A faith that he is coming. Some Gowri is activated which she gives to Trijadha, Mandodari to stop the destruction of Lanka. Her distinguishing good and evil in Lanka and trying to establish dharma through sattvic food shows that Gowri and Kali is coexisting in her and depending on how she is approached people will see her that way.
Hanuman coming activates Gowri more, because he takes most of the fire within her, by physically burning Lanka and going from Lanka unharmed with the choodamani. And whatever Kali is remaining that is given to the fire in the end and Ram's Gowri comes out.
Hari's Maya is Ravan's lack of knowledge that he have Sita only physically but her soul is still with Ram and will be with Ram.

Yes Shruthi ,I have heard of that. Ravan could not have touched the real Sita ,so to felicitate her husband's mission on earth she herself goes under agni's protection and leaves her shadow. This shadow-Sita is kidnapped by Ravan thus inviting his own destruction. In Valmiki's ramayan it is mentioned as 'agni dwar' or the doorway of fire through which the real Sita is able to be reunited with Ram. Somehow seeing the scenes between Ravan and Sita made me look at it from a different perspective.
