Hello guys, wonderful analyses, as usual! Sruthi di, waiting for your memories post, Charvi, awesome water analysis, and Aadhya, great post on the dialogues. Now, time for my late one! 😆
The theme for today's episode was realization. Let me explain why it is so...
Sulochana goes to Megnath and tries to make him realize the truth. He says that his father is not interested in Sita, he is just interested in extracting revenge from Ram. But Sulochana says that she is a woman and that she knows a man's sight and a woman's feelings. And finally, Megnath realizes the truth and gets thinking. Isn't Sulochana's right? Only a woman can understand another woman's feelings, thought process, and decisions And a man and woman can understand a man's intentions, thinking process, and actions. This is why only women can be good mothers, because they can understand both gender's emotions and thoughts at just a glance. Charvi, I want to borrow your comparison for a minute. In today's episode, Sulochana was the water and Megnath was the wind. Why is Megnath like the wind? he always rushes towards his father to help whenever Ravan is under high pressure and is angry, just like the wind rushes from a low pressure area to a high pressure area. Sulochana walked towards Megnath and stayed standing, just like water flows on the Earth and stays on the Earth. Megnath was on a chair, above the ground, like the air. Sulochana tries to stop Megnath from listening to his father blindly, but would the wind stop. No, the wind would never stop moving, as that is its duty. There is also another person in Lanka like Meghnad. Surpanakha. She is not the ever-moving wind, but the inert air. Both are forms that originate from Ravan. Surpanakha is a ever-moving, free girl who doesn't like restraints, just like Sita. But the difference between the two is that Sita accepts the shackles of Dharma, but is still free, but Surpanakha tries to break her shackles. In the process, she got hurt, for the shackles do not relent. Her injury, her cut off nose, was supposed to serve as a remainder of Dharma, but instead become a remainder of her insult.
Sita has three flashbacks of Sita- one with the bead, one with the seven steps, and one where Ram holds her. First, let me talk about the bead memory. If the bead necklace symbolizes the heart, then what does one bead symbolize. The basic element that makes the heart what it is, love. By giving a bead, Ram gives his love to Sita, and promises her that his love will always be with her, as her strength. The next memory is about the Saptapadi. This is a very important ritual in a Hindu marriage where the couple take seven steps around the holy fire, and is an equivalent to the Saat Phere. Here, Ram and Sita relive their marriage by taking their vows again. Ram tells Sita that with the heart's eye, we can see what is visible and invisible, even when the eyes fail. In this memory, Ram gives Sita faith, in him and their love, and tells her that he will find her, with his heart's eyes, no matter what. The third memory is that Ram saves Sita when she falls, and says that wherever Sita is, Ram stays there. Ram lastly gives Sita the gift of determination. She knows that Ram will unite the sky and Earth to reach Sita, so she should keep her spirits up and not give up at any cost. From Ram's memories, Sita gains strength, faith, and determination, weapons that she needs to fight the battle against Ravan. Even though they aren't together in body, they are together in the battle in spirit, and when they both unite, no one can defeat them.
Throughout their whole life, Ram and Sita were mainly separated, and I have always felt bad about that. But just today, I came upon this quote...
Absence makes love stronger, prescence makes love grow.
And this perfectly summarizes Ram and Sita's situation. For the 13 years in the forest, Ram and Sita got to know each other, understand each other, and love each other, and this period was undoubtedly the most peaceful and happy period of their lives. Their love for each other grew beyond limits, and that was evident. But without pain and suffering, divinity can not be reached, and so, they are separated. But, this separation will be the medium through which their already strong love will become even stronger, and their unconditional love will be proved. This separation will become the reason why Ram and Sita's love story is still considered the epitome of divine and limitless love.
