DD has covered most aspects. So I will stick my analysis to Prakriti-Sanskriti itself. Now see extreme Sanskriti went to control Prakriti. What happened Prakriti influenced Sanskriti and what is the feeling that came into her. Fear.
Now if you see Prakriti of Lanka has come under fear. Mandodari, Sulochana, Surpi all are afraid. They are afraid for their Sanskriti. They know the women sitting there will result in their Sanskriti or tradition getting lost forever. They want her to move out of Lanka. Sulochana asked Sita whether she can help. Sita refused politely. Now Sulo has decided she will move Sita out of Lanka. So even though for good cause she exploited Sita's trust by giving her jasmine flowers that can make Sita unconscious. The emotion was more like getting rid of Sita.
The men who understand Prakriti has also come under the siege of fear. Vibhishan and Meghnad. They also want Sita out as they are also afraid for their existence and they know her presence means destruction.
Finally Surpi. She is mad. Her way of getting rid of Sita is by killing her. So if you look the knowledge, wealth and power of Lanka want Sita out of Lanka. Only knowledge and wealth are doing it in a protective way, while power is doing it in a destructive way. If power also had come in a protective way, they might have succeeded in getting Sita out of Lanka for protecting their culture.
Ravan as I said is completely oblivious to what is happeneing. He is lost in alchohol that makes him go into the world of illusion.
Control is slipping from his hands. Fear of Lankesh is getting reduced. Fear of Survival is taking over it and the people of Lanka are ganging up for their survival and the survival of people whom they consider near and dear. And Ravan who says he knows it all, sits there questioning Mandodari without knowing all these happening.
That's how Prakriti works. Fear for survival will make fear of a person insignificant.
