But Mareech looked at Shri Ram as a warrior human who followed dharma. He is so sure that none can save him from Raavan's wrath and that his death is near. Hence he chose to do his king's bidding but also decided to die by Shri Ram's hands instead of raavan

yes i understand that he choose to die at Ram's hands instead of raavan. but after Ram shot him with an arrow why did he need to call out sita's and Laxmans name, he could have avoided that. he was anyway dying

He not only chose to die in Ram's hand, he also chose to die following his master's orders, as he considered it his duty. So he died chanting Sita and Lakshman's names in a last bid to allow Ravan to be able to kidnap Sita.

Can we celebrate ⭐️Sita's haran somewhere in this forum? Do we have permission, and is there a thread up there already for it? 😈

Who wants to celebrate Sita haran?
Are such events worth celebrating?
Is a woman's abduction an event worth celebrating?
No excuses of she is not Sita from the epic but just a Star Sita... etc etc.
Anyone wants more clarification, pm me.

The Lakshman Rekha part was good. Lakshman invoking his dharm and kartavya paalan to draw the Rekha and also putting the onus on Sita to keep her word in order for the Rekha to remain intact was well done. I think both the actors did well in the scene. Madi was much better than yesterday.
In valmiki ramayan, Sita gives her history to Raavan in his rishi roop and there is no Rekha. Raavan comes in lust and gets more captivated by Sita's beauty. That makes him more cruel and this part of Ramayan is heartbreaking.. Sita's cries for help, her screams to her husband to come and save her, and all her tries to escape Raavan leading up to nothing is just too hard..

Raavan's transformation to a rishi in skr has been done well. But he still talks of Sita being made a maid😕 are they trying to say that Raavan was not eying Sita but is doing all this for only revenge?it was revenge to begin with but the minute surpi tells him of Sita's beauty, Raavan is curious and the second he sees Sita ma, he decides to get her losing all rational thought.

The dialogues of asking Surpi to keep her sense of revenge intact as Sita will beg her for her life is just too daily serialish..

Lakshman actually has been given a good turn by the cvs. Shri Ram in Ramayan scolds Lakshman for considering the words of an emotional wife and leaving Sita alone..but it is nice that they moved on without too much concentration on that..

Agree...

As much as even I am not fond of StarSita in SKR (too modern and forward in her attitude and lacks the divine persona earlier present in Mithila), I wonder if the same logic (of celebrating a woman's abduction or its corresponding equivalent) would ever be suggested for the messed-up characterizations of female characters from other mythos and stories that we have...

Heck, even Tulsidas' Sita is different to Valmiki Sita in her personality despite being the same character. IMHO Valmiki Sita is deffo much stronger as compared to Tulsidas' Sita. So, how come no one on this forum ever raises issues with Sita being made "docile" and "submissive" by Tulsidas?

I myself know of many 'feminists' who even label Tulsidas' Sita as a "doormat" completely based on their own flawed understanding and interpretations of the character.

My point being, if you expect the CVs to be fully faithful to Valmiki's work and consequently criticize the CVs for deviating from it (as you have the right to do so), please extend that criticism for other adaptations as well which are basically the perspectives of the authors responsible for said adaptaions. Having said that, the mistakes committed by the CVs in this show cannot be condoned. But that certainly does NOT mean we actually ask to celebrate an event which eventually resulted in a woman's dignity being called into question for no fault of hers.

I had a question what is the point of Lakshman Rekha?? I mean the Valmiki version never has it...so why introduce this concept nonetheless??

Edited: Sita was to be abducted because of Vedvati's curse as a catalyst was required so why the entire narrative around Lakshman Rekha??

ok i thought he only wanted to save himself from dying at Ravan's hands and was left with no other option. but once ram killed him he did have an option to choose which he did not for what he considered duty
