SIYA KE RAM: 24/04: IDEOLOGIES The first part is phenomenal 👏
lemme correct myself, the episode is phenomenal ⭐️
it was lanka and lanka all the way. and with so many layers
spectacular in terms of dialogues and screenplay. 😃
but before i begin the analysis i have one request SAVITA. can you please write a single post on this thread highlighting the color usage in ayodhya, mihila and lanka? today what they did with lanka was applaud worthy. i was bowled over. how much we love the presentation of SKR na savita? Its a visual treat 😳 please do it when you have tym. cz i guess there are many who would love to read a collective color therory on ayodhya, mithila and lanka. once you do it i shall update it on the front pg index.
the episode begins with some dance and introduction of new surpankha. i loved the scene for a very different reason altogether. And here's where the writers score
.
today's majority of the scenes dealt with what we term as "judgement" or to be very precise and accurate "to be judgemental"
what topic yaar cvs
lamba post banega iss par 😛 but again i won't write that now 😆
i loved the contrast they have given to mithila/ayodhya and lanka.
c the way the asura taunts surpankha.
it was totally 🥳
"aap ravan kul ki stree/ beti (didn't hear it that well) aapko aisa aacharan shobha nahi deta."
and c the instant reaction. surpankha's claws are out. ravan enters. meghnad enters. what follows is a total flip side of what we learnt from mithila. once the asura talks ill of surpankha, he's taken into some private chamber for deciding his fate.
this takes me back to sta's swayamvar. sita was insulted by ravan first. then by the other kings who disrespected them by pulling out their swords.
what's more worth is janaka's and VM's stance.
both gave a solution. this is where hanuman's words fit.
" jinhe buddhi se samajh nahi aata unhe bal se samjhana padta hai"
VM applies both. he uses logic and asks ram to use his "bal" though indirectly by lifting the bow.
on the other hand janaka uses the power of his knowledge.
janaka's "buddhi" and ram's "bal" save the day. but this doesn't end here. what we get next is ram's explanation on breaking of bow.
am here reminded of Bajirao Mastani dialogue. its the opening scene itself.
"shastra (weapon) chalakar shaastra (technique) ka gyaan dena hoga bajirao"
and this dialogue stands tall for ram during swayamvar.
nw if everything is about lanka, why did i bring in swayamvar here?
its the contrasting ideologies.
"tum apni swatantrata ka anuchit prayog kar rahi ho"
which swatantrata is ravan talking of? that which made surpankha elope with his enemy and her lover? that which made him kill her husband? that which made her hate and disrespect him?
this again takes me back to janaka sita scene on swantantra and swayamvar.
time and again sita has stressed on " vicharo ki swatantrata"
and this is what i had blogged about. if you have missed it, here's the link:
i hope you all will read and share with those who need it. the views may also seem to be conflicting for some of you. do not hesitate to share your thoughts wih me. as i always say and mean your privacy is my responsibilty 😛
now where do ravan and janaka differ?
the tym when sita's swayamvar is to be announced, janaka is in a dilemma and a guilt that he hasn't shared with sita. and that's the tym he makes an effort to tell her and c how willingly she accepts his decision.
cut to the swayamvar. ram requests janaks to ask sita. even if she doesn't want to marry, she can say no.
cut to bharat-mandvi and bharat-ram
how beautifully bharat had handled the situation.
first with mandvi and then with ram. and ram's affirmation that no one can force a girl to marry against her wishes. once again "freedom of thoughts".
and c the ideology bharat doesn't want mandvi to be defamed or ppl to judge her for her refusal.
cut to today's ravan-surpankha scene.
what contrast
ravan once alone with surpankha echoes what the asura had said.
surpankha in a way was right in blasting ravan left and right today.
she tells its because of his fear or because of his conflicts, men come into her life.
this line was sheer wow!!! especially with her decision of going to "dandaka van"
again a clear contrast with the mithila sisters. the sisters have got their rightful life partners because of their ability, knowledge and assets and not just because of janaka's influence or his goodness.
next we have meghnad and his wife. i didn't watch the full scene. missed the dialogues. but whar i ccaught up was meghnad says that he has one wife and one love.
is he "ekampatnivrata" too? if that is so, what the hell was he smoking when he grabbed his wife so ruthlessly and blabbered the nonsense of one wife and one love?😡
but i really loved his wife's take (sorry, dunno the name 😆) she knows he loves only her and so she's with him. so i guess let's expect a big "satitva" takkar between her and urmila. shruthi panchkanya theory on roll.
so the last scene ravan giving "jeevandaan" to the dandak rakshas. if am not wrong he's that 🤡 virat fellow who ate mentos on time and waited for right opportunity to kill ram. IDIOT!! khayali pulao banata reh tu.
but what took my breath away was surpankha.
she brings out her claws even for ravan. so the first surpankha was a screechy one but the betrayal that she got from vidyutjeevha made her clawy clawy person. ab aawaaz neeche naakhun baahar 🤣 superb cvs apart from heavy philosophy u make me laugh too 😆
jokes apart, i loved surpankha's desire to go the forest to see who are the fellows giving their "mayavi" power a levelled takkar.
and his is where surpankha blasting ravan fits. especially that the ppl come into her life either because they fear him or detest him. it will be interesting to see how she lands into ram lakshman's lives.
this time around it won't be ppl cmn into her lives, it will be she fitting herself into somebody else's life.
another scene i forgot was again ravan surpankha. ravan's words that he won't spare any of those who insult her or judge her.
this is such a contrast with janaka and sita.⭐️ janaka asks her to prove herself when needed even if it means giving "agnipariksha". and next upcoming sita's banishment and her final test. ram asks her test at the end so that ppl will love and respect her the way they did before.
and now look at ravan. he promises surpankha that he will marry her off with the man she desires to be with. and this blind promise made her lose her nose making her even more hideous. and "naak kat jana" end of the day is the biggest insult one can even think of and the phrase that's applicable today also.
cmn to the title.
am selecting "ideologies"
we got a clesr picture of what governs the asuras minds.
what makes the ppl of lanka tick.
the ideologies that are a sheer contrast to those of mithila, ayodhya, kishkindha.
what rules ideologes?
it is "sanskriti". with every habitat and civilization the ideologies differ.
and the tym when these ideologies mix up, the fermentation begins 😆
vibhishan even though from asuras clan was like a saint.
ayodhya ppl even being part of such a rich civilization shall showcase the ideologies of monsters.
even today when we do something wrong, we are advised don't behave like demons and animals.
the ideologies of "vanaras" will fall in a circle of questions with bali-roma-sugreev. that's what i really wanna c how and when.
P.S: savita i did get my answers today about ur post on sita and sankriti. will elabrate it later. i still can't figure out if i agree with you or not.😆 but i'll for sure post my views on it.
i guess shruthi is busy, geena, fouzia, supriya, rex,
shirley and whoever watches the episode pls feel free to put your thots. today the thread was 🤢 😆
