Ravan is not explored properly till now. If his knowledge, being scholar of many fields was shown earlier before showing his arrogant, cruel side, would have created a different impression about him.

if the writer thinks logicaly about this then ravan won't be shown as mahan. anyway, raavan koi daanveer to thaa nahi jis liye use mahan banaya jaaye.

I am actually more curious to know more about indrajeet , very less is known of him except for his fight with lakshmana and his boons related story
