@ deejagi : Agree to your points to some extend. But isn't it a wife's duty to bring your husband to the path of righteousness. We know that she always tried to correct him. He never listened. She was aware of all his atrocities. But she was only concerned about the 'shap' her husband got because of his actions/sins. She used her chastity to protect her husband (adharm). So it became a selfish deed.

Tyag kitna bhi mahan kyun na ho..har insan ko apne karma khud bhogatne padte hain. no matter how much our parents (for example) protect us, at one point we need to learn. If person himself does not value that, the end is certain!

Tyag bahut log kartein hain jeevan mein, per safal sabhi ka nahin hota.
