I mean come on they were divine but they were demi gods with faults...and emotions...why can't they show that? the fight scene was yuck🤢. In Mahabharat..all the characters have various shades and even the most positive characters weren't spotless at all.

Well Krishna was :P But He is the God. So.
I know Rii :/
Why can't they use our stories as inspiration? :P See how we develop a character.

This show tends to make us dislike Ram and Sita's characters at times, and that's not good at all.

Ram and Sita were ideal characters, but so were the others. Lakshman and Bharat were ideal brothers, and we cannot forget Shatrughan either. He took care of Ayodhya while his brothers were both busy serving Ram in their own way. Urmila suppressed her own sorrow and took care of Kaushalya and Sumitra, and Mandavi and Shrutakirti too must have had a hand in keeping the family together.

We cannot compare Sita and Urmila. Both were great in their own right. Yes, Urmila was separated from her husband for 14 years compared to Sita's one year, but Sita was in greater danger, so while even Lakshman missed his wife, he didn't have to worry for her safety like Ram did. Also, Lakshman and Urmila got their happy ending, but Ram and Sita were eternally separated. So we cannot compare their greatness and sacrifices. Ramayan is about Ram and Sita, so it will concentrate on their greatness more, but at the same time, it doesn't make the others any less.

After all, Ram's brothers and Sita's sisters were an image of them. How can they be portrayed as weaker/foolish? It doesn't make sense.

Janki di that exactly is our complaint! Yes Ramayan is essentially about Ram and Sita but it is not only about them, other characters do play an important part! Sita and Urmila cannot be compared for both suffered under different set of circumstances but both played important roles...so again the question why give one a higher pedestal and demean the other??

If Ram is the ideal man, then Lakshman is the ideal warrior and Bharat and Shatrughan are able administrators! Why are they messing it up big time??

I agree with every word, Janaki.
We are comparing Star's Sita and Urmila.
The original Sita and Urmila both sacrificed a lot. Equally,
I just hope that here, they don't show Sita jumping and running around in Dandakvan duruing vanvas.
Sita is the one who gets worried everytime Lakshman goes out into the forest; not beacause she doesn't have faith in him, which she does completely, but due to her love and affection for her devar who is like a son to her.
Ramayan is the punya-katha of SitaRam, I agree. However, Shri Ram and Sita Ma swayam will be getting irritated with the CVs for showing their siblings like this.

Yeah, agree. Sita's character is highly faulty in this show. At least Ram is shown worrying and caring for his brothers. Sita comes off as very cold and insensitive.

Absolutely. She is the Mother. There is no way she won't worry. These people don't seem to understand the basic character of Sita Mata.

Characterization?? Oh please Ri it doesn't exist here anymore!! Every character has taken a major downfall ever since the wedding happened! And here there is no grey, it either black or white...and please putri dear don't remind me of the action sequence...it made we want to gauge my eyes out!!!

@Janaki Di , I cannot agree more .
So true , Sisters and brothers are images of Ram and Sita and they represent the values of Janak and Dasharath . How can they portray them so foolishly ?
Well , I am afraid , what if I start disliking Sita-Ram after watching this show .
I respect them nt just as gods for their human values . bt the characters we are watching now is completely contradictory to what exactly they were .
