That's what i was thinking too. There is no point in showing Ravana before the vanvass. It would have made sense if they showed all this during vanvass period. At this point they should be showing the happier side, Sita with her sisters and Ram with his brothers, and how happy they were. Cvs is completely losing it.

The CVs have made the biggest mistake of their life by giving Ravan so much screen space before vanvaas. By doing that, they destroyed the happy and magical aura of Baal Kand. Baal Kand is supposed to be full of happiness, love and excitement, but none of that is present here. Ravan should make his entry in Aranya Kand, not before.
