But we humans have forgetten that and try to dominate over the other, become barbarous etcc.

Whether I choose my partner or the elders choose, that is what is meant to be - if this is understood the marriage will be a success because both partners will respect one another.
Loved your line about marriage being a marathon. That's what it is- a long term relation until death do us apart.

I read a quote today on the net - you can fall in love in an instant but you have to work hard to stay in love! And it's so true!

@aparna only we accept the union of purush and prakriti ordained by nature naa. But if you look today marriages are literally become deals. To prove one's might, one's status. It is not about the child in the marriage, it is about the parent in the marriage. And on the other extreme complete disregard to parents dilemma and kids taking unilateral decisions. We are dealing with extremes not balance and that is why divorces are also rising
Did you see the latest promo of that new show in SP itself. I cant stand the promo. I will give it to TRP aunties for watching that show. " I will decide who will take saat phere with my son" and he will decide " whose face he want to see first thing in the morning"

@Shruthi: As usual your topic title is outstanding. I liked the way Janak thought about one who will match his daughter by all means.
Yes, nature creates everything as whole. That is why we say, if you need an answer for your question, search it within the premises, u will get it. The more u dig the problem, its just not the solution which emerges, it is also the question which leads you to know the roots.
U know about me, so I leave the rest of the part😉

@Ramya the only problem is when you go deeper some startling truth emerges, which questions the belief system itself. Some unexpected things come up and some idols fall on the ground . But that doesn't mean you shouldn't question. Be prepared to see the unexpected also in the journey.

True Shruthi. If we stop questioning, then we will be left behind in the life race.
@bold: on lighter note: I always expect for unexpected positive results in research😆
