Once again Ram did it. Beautiful play of words and once again a beautiful message. Before marriage the biggest strength for a child is the parents confidence in him or her( Post marriage also it matters, but spouse become a much more important factor). Especially teenage and early youth.
At this age if a parent controls the child telling him what to do what not to do then the parents become the child's weakness and when a parent is able to direct trusting the child that he or she will know what is right what is wrong then they become the child's strength.

Today Ram asked his father doesnt he trust in his abilities. He doesnt want to go because a king has to sent the crown prince, but a son wants to go with his father's blessings. If a king sends the crown prince then it feels like because the duty bound king was forced to do it, he did it. He has fear, he doesnt trust Ram enough. But if a father sends the son that means father has confidence in the child.

Why the difference of king and father was stressed is because in the former you do the action only in the physical space as your vachan bound, duty bound. But any action in the physical space without the involvement of mind is half hearted and will not bear the desired result. But in the latter if you have to do it you have bring your inner space at par with physical space. Because emotional bindings are there. And an action is complete only when inner space matches with physical space. And that is what we call samarpan. Ram made Dasrath Samarpith to his vachan with gentleness and love.

I always tell people dont sacrifice, give. When you sacrifice your inner space is in turmoil. Some physical force or physical condition is making you do it. But when you give, it is voluntary, it is free will.

A lot is talked about sacrifice, duty etc but no one talks about free will. Because free will is associated with selfishness. Actually it is not. Free will can be harnessed positively if we make an attempt. We can make sacrificing giving. When you give you do it to satisfy yourelf or your conscience . When you sacrifice you do it to satisfy the society.

An action for which your conscience didnt need answer, but society is not convinced it is giving. An action for which society is convinced , but your conscience is not , it is sacrifice.

You can decide what you want to do. Give or sacrifice. It is your choice. If you use your freewill in the direction set by God results will be remarkable and those results only time can see it. And I will put the choice taken by Arjun to have Krishna without weapon was proved right on day 14 of Kurushetra war when the weapon Shakthi or Power goes from Karna's hand.

Nice analysis 👏
Bt today i loved how ram and sita fulfilled their responsibilities which they have undertaken. They have set an another beautiful example how a couple should be .One is working hard to solve the problem and other one is keeping patience and maintaining positive attitude in the rough phase till u get success. Ram is trying to destroy the demons (asur) and Sita is trying to destroy the inner demon (fear). Man can be physically strong but mental strength is with woman

I just loved todays episode. Waiting for next episode and your analysis too😉

Very well written Shruthi.
Today it was all about trust and letting go of the fears and insecurities.
Dashrath needed to trust Ram and let him go to fight his battles. The interaction between Ram and Dashrath was so relatable that each one of us would have faced this with our parents and our children.
It was the same when Sita asked the kids to face their fears and put up a bold front.
I totally agree with you that anything that comes from within and voluntarily without any pressure is more satisfying to ones self.Hence it is giving without any expectations in return is far more effective.
I am enjoying this serial only for the different perspective it has managed to bring about.

As always well written Shruti.
Adding to your point about Giving vs Sacrifice, it could be said that while Giving relates to the Soul Sacrifice relates to the Ego. In Giving we share in what we have with no expectation of anything in return and the feeling comes from our hearts (example the humble Tree or nature, in Sacrifice even though we give up something important to us but have some expectation from the act or the person it is intended for. If you see Shanth's sacrifice, she tells the 4 brothers to live in a such a way that her sacrifice does not go futile. There is the Ego which expects an outcome from the sacrifice.

Thank you Swatsu, for helping me to see the essence of the episode thorough your post.

I had missed this! The whole episode was centred on how fear paralyses us and makes us go against our nature.

Children forget to be children, and forget to play

Dashratha forgot the very foundation of aryavrat, that of keeping his promises above all else. Ever since he was cursed by Shravan Kumars parents, Dashratha has been possessed by fear of losing ram, and this has come in the way of being a good father, a good husband and a good King, so dominated he is by this fear!

I think the whole episode has been about fighting demons, internal and external as aku0705 said. And how these demons the literal and figurative ones destroy the very fabric of our life and paralyse us and make us go against our primary nature
