Dasaratha tells his sons that horse will soon return and he wants this function to be remembered for a long time. Ram utters that it's his responsibility to fulfil his wish.
Janak assists his men in the fields. The men from Ayodhya get ashtonished to see him working in the fields. Janak smiles and says that it's the best way to stay connected with his land and people. It makes him acknowledge the contribution of farmers.
Sita takes care of the horse. Janak utters that she fulfils every responsibility she takes. Sita tells compassionately tells the horse to share his problems with her. She looks at the wounds on his leg and applies some herbs to cure it. Thereafter she utters that she knows what will happen to him after his return to Ayodhya. Sita hopes for someone to understand that he too is a living being and embraces him.
Ram puts gold into fire to make the statue of a horse. The workers advise him to leave as the king would be angry to see him working in this heat. Ram tells them that he himself has to do it. Lakshman asks him to think of the future consequences. Ram asks when the horse will return.
Manthara reports to Kaikeyi that Ram is doing something to stop the horse sacrifice. He's opposing the traditions. Kaikeyi smirks and utters that this act will make way for the other traditions to break, like the throne being passed to the eldest son.
Kaushalya asks Sumitra where's Kaikeyi. The latter responds she might be busy. Kaushalya utters that she has observed a change in her. This change can't be due to Bharat's absence as she only sent him away and might have called him back, the matter is something else. Sumitra says she's confident that Kaushalya will solve the matter as no one is more mature and patient than her.
The horse returns to Ayodhya. Ram calls sage Vasistha. He tells Ram that he could have commanded everyone to obey him but he wants everyone to accept this new tradition from heart. Ram brings the golden horse idol to perform the rituals. Dasharatha gets astonished and seeks explanation. Ram apologises and suggests sacrificing the idol instead of a living creature. All the men object, the priest declares that it's important to sacrifice the horse. Rishi Jabali enters laughing. Dasharatha tells Ram that these traditions accord with the scriptures and why should they bring a change. Ram responds that he has made preparations for a ritual free of violence. The priest exclaims that the gods will curse Ram if this tradition breaks. All the men raise their voice and oppose Ram
